" A small dragon, I should hope?" Hestia asked as she climbed on top of Lisa next.

"Barely an infant." Lisa muttered as our Goddess copied her Falna on paper.

"There is enough high-quality excilia to Level you up right away. And obviously the same for Pef." Hestia offered in a softer voice.

I knew that. Fighting a single Minotaur would have been enough. I have killed thousands of those bovines.

"So I heard there is a strange ceremony and nicknames being gives to new Level 2s" I wondered while summoning my Black Ghost to have it make me some tea.

Hestia's eyes tracked my ghost without fail, then focused on me as the cause. "Such as Invisible Ghost, yes. But no ceremony is required, or else we would never have free time with how many adventurers level up every day. Or die everyday."

"Well, we're going to butcher Hellhounds next. I hear they have magic attacks, which should bestow us with Magic Resistance or something of that sort."

I proposed with a glance at the Familia's Captain.

Hestia stood up, and walked in front of me, trying to look menacing. "You realize Level 2 adventurers often avoid Hellhounds as their fire breath is so deadly. And you're not at Level 2 yet."

I nodded wisely. "I'll make sure to keep Sarah alive. Worst case, I drag her into my pocket dimension and retreat."

"Stop worrying, Hestia. He cannot die. And Magic Resistance sounds quite useful." Lisa added as she lazily stretched and showcased her naked body.

"Even with your magic spirit, there are monsters which can block it. Or spells that can cover the body in negative magic." our Goddess warned me as I picked up my tea cup from the invisible ghost's hands.

I already found out about this, but divine knowledge made it certain. I just walked away into the kitchen and opened my game screen.

Pef - Level 27

Title: High Commissioner

Strength: 25

Speed: 27

Mind: 5

Magic: 14

Chi: 6

Endurance: 44

Free points: 26

I was missing something here. Level 27 should have been equal to a high Level 2 in the Falna system. And Endurance 44 should have been a Level 4's domain. And yet I wasn't even close.

I mean, I did have an amazing Abnormal Resistance at rank C, which likely matched my Endurance number. But the systems also didn't mesh right.

*Mind +1.

There, I used a free point on the lowest stat.

I didn't get smarter, but perhaps my mind would withstand the Dungeon better? Hard to tell.

Damn CYOA. Use better explanations next time!

Lisa appeared beside me. "I'll go farm Floor 1 for more golden eggs. Good equipment costs over 100 million each." she spoke with a determined voice, and handed me the choker back.

Message received, Captain! Go nuts in the Dungeon by myself. And try to determine best place to obtain more abilities. And not get her killed in the process. My Lisa was quite smart.

I stole a kiss and ran off, and kept running until I reached Hellhounds' Cave Labyrinth. And died to the first fire breath. And the next.

Maybe not taking Lisa with me was the right idea, in hindsight.

Screaming like mad, and paralyzing the damn monsters I bashed them with my Crozzo club, and they died easy enough.

Taking mental notes, I began avoiding the fire breaths, and then smacked the offending monster. And the next.

About 8 hours later, and only a dozen respawns I ran out from the cave and back towards the exit. The last fire breath failed to kill me, so I must have gotten the resistance. Painful stuff though. Recommended 0/10.

Anime powers were still bullshit.

So obviously, on Floor 11 I encountered another Infant Dragon.

This Dungeon was really the Joker in disguise. And a poor disguise at that.

But I was not a normal man either. As the dragon opened its serrated mouth to spit flames at me, I jumped inside, and then simply butchered the beast from inside out. Easy win, less than a minute.

As I collected the Dragon Claw and the crystal, a red-haired girl with two ponytails stopped beside me and chanted a heal.

"Freya Familia?" I asked with a nod towards her emblem.

" Heith_Velvet at your service. Quite the brave thing you did, jumping inside a dragon. You weren't even burned that bad." she noted with mild surprise, although her face seemed tired.

"I am Pef, Vice-Captain of the Hestia Familia. My Captain killed this dragon on Floor 12 yesterday, so I wanted to try it too. Wasn't that hard." I answered while waiting for my armor to cool off.

The healer nodded. "It seems there will be two Level 2's in your Familia quite soon. The excilia from a dragon will be enough, even if only an infant." she observed in a smart voice.

"Feel like taking it slow while heading out? I'll show you a trick on Floor 1." I proposed as thanks for her heal. It wasn't necessary, but the thought counted. She did stop to help me, even without knowing me.

"Not quite that slow." Heith countered then grabbed me by the shoulder and sped up, reaching Floor 1 in a single minute. Right, higher Level adventurers were speedsters too, not just strong.

"Sarah should be on this floor. Hunting the Jack Bird." I said in a softer voice, and Heith hummed a bit interested.

I ignored sounds of combat, as new adventurers battled easy goblins for a pittance of xp or cash. I was the same only 3 weeks ago, yet felt so far away.

A flash and the Jack Bird fell to the floor only to be stabbed by an emerging Lisa. I guess Esper powers worked quite well on Floor 1 mobs.

"Hmmm. A golden egg? Worth about a million valis." Heith noted, sounding a bit impressed.

Lisa threw it at me, and I gifted it to my 'savior'.

She measured me with cautious eyes. "Pef, you said. And this Sarah is your Captain?" she asked a bit wary.

"I have a proposal for you, Heith Velvet. But not on an empty stomach. Take us to dinner? You can pick the place." I proposed while Lisa came to hug me on the side.

Heith measured the million valis gift, then shrugged. "Sure, I can afford a meal for a pair of poor Level 1s. And will even listen to your proposal." she declared in a colder voice.

My choker became a bit tight as we walked outside and hundreds of people stared at us. At least my armor wasn't glowing hot anymore.
