While the glorious Boss fight with Cerberos should have been my greatest achievement, the honor was stolen from me.
Not by the fluffy cat either. Somehow Lisa managed to follow and sneak behind me, using her special Esper powers. And then she finished off the Boss with her trademark Supreme Fist.
"Yes! Esper rank 5!" Lisa yelled as she emerged from Concealment, glowing like a goddess.
Mystic growled in warning as he landed on my shoulder. "Quiet, big cat..." I growled back, as I glanced down at the new loot.
Three rare fangs, a rare hide and vial of blood.
*Cerberos Fang. Imbued with Elemental Fire. Rare item.
*Cerberos Fang. Imbued with Elemental Lightning. Rare item.
*Cerberos Fang. Imbued with Elemental Ice. Rare item.
*Cerberos Hide. Immune to Elemental Fire. Rare item.
*Cerberos Blood. Greatly increases Magic.
My last surviving Black Ghost collected the loot and opened the blood vial for a stupid cat to drink it with hungry growls.
Nothing obvious changed about Mystic, yet as his Tamer I also knew the cat had become stronger. Just like the Cerberos was only a Level 4 Boss yet qualified as Level 5 due to the three magic heads.
"Mrrrwww." Mystic uttered in a satisfied tone, yet his new Aura touched my soul with a sentiment of content.
'Your cat is much too strange.' Lisa observed with a mental message.
What could I say? It was even worse than anyone knew. My cat had mastered Chi Skills I didn't even have or knew the names of, like that air step Skill, and the super Barrier. Now he had an Aura as well, and knew how to send emotions through it too.
Checking my own status, I noticed that Concealment has also appeared in my Skill list, as a 'none' rank. And Amplification has finally reached 'medium' rank. Possibly connected to my new 49 Chi stats, or maybe not.
Chi was a confusing power to have and use, despite reading a dozen ancient manuals imported from Tibet.
*Chi +1.
I spent a free point to cross into the next cultivation realm, and my mind sunk into itself. Or maybe split in two?
Anyways, part of my mind was now floating in a black sphere of nothing, still naked but holding the handle of my Spirit Sword.
Curious. Was this my inner world? Why was it empty?

Asking the question changed the void space into the city of Rivera, not as it was now in the Earth Dungeon, filled with tents and containers from the Academy, but pristine. Exactly like it was when I first discovered it. So not a city, but a cave filled with green vegetation and a blue lake of pure water.
'Can you hear me?' Lisa yelled mentally.
'Yeah, just adjusting to the new mental space. Cultivators get an inner world when they reach 50 Chi.' I Sent back, then turned to walk out of the Boss Cave.
Mystic took point to massacre more Hellhounds, as I walked back in a half-daze, still getting used to the double vision and dual thought process.
'Ah, I see. Another mind, similar to my Five Minds Skill. I wonder if Espers also get an inner world at Rank 6.' Lisa spoke mentally while gliding over the cave floor like she was levitating. Not like, she was levitating. I wanted to fly too!
Inside the Mind World, my other spirit body began jumping and training, likely trying to copy the effortless way Mystic walked on air.
Good luck, ghost me! Let me know if you figure it out.
In the meantime, I just had the Black Ghost hold me on its shoulder. Being invisible, the ghost walk made it 'look' like I was levitating too.
Fake it til you make it, right?
'Figured out a way too.' I Sent to Lisa, and she snorted out loud after a single glance.
'Still my beloved idiot, Pef. Maybe one day you'll figure out how to use your Invisible Ghost right.' my Companion whispered in a loving tone, yet hiding disappointment as well.
I blinked then shrugged. So I wasn't very smart. I knew that already.
The next day, our advance team descended deeper into the Dungeon. Past Floor 27 where the Water Dragon won't respawn for three months.
The Bloodsaurs were 5-meter tall dinosaurs that made perfect training targets for my new Companions, while Lisa and I kept an eye for man-eating plants and other stronger monsters like the Grand Treants and the Worm Wells, both with levels over 40. Deeper Floors contained Barbarians and Elite Lizardmen, and on Floor 36 we began to encounter undead monsters like Spartoi and Skull Sheep.
As expected, fighting stronger monsters made our stats grow even faster, and three months later all three girls reached level 40 just in time for the new Water Dragon respawn.
Was it unfair to bully Amphisbaena with a team of four adventurers and an invincible cat? Well, the cat just snickered and laughed as we got bounced around by the giant Dragon, so he wasn't much help.
Then again, Alicia's Stone Wall spell countered the water Magic of the Dragon quite nicely, while my Healing Chant kept all the girls in good health. Add to this Lisa's Might spell and we all got even stronger and more durable. Our lives were not really in danger, unlike our dignity which got trashed all over.
The greatest achievement in this fight was Alicia's new magic spell, called Divine Justice, continuing the Merchant of Venice theme with a short verse:
"It is enthroned in the hearts of kings,
It is an attribute of God himself;
And earthly power does then show like God’s
When mercy seasons justice."
I don't think anyone expected a giant hand made of stone to grab Amphisbaena head and crush it like a grape. I mean, it made a tiny bit of sense with 'earthly power' and Alicia's Stone Wall previous spell. On the other hand...what the fuck?
This was a Level 5 Dungeon Boss, and a Dragon as well. Unless my attacks were Honed and Amplified to the maximum, I couldn't even scratch those crazy durable scales. And big-breasted Alicia just crushed its head?
Magic too OP, pls nerf!
"This is bullshit." I heard Serena mutter to herself, while her new Spirit Weapon crafted from the Cerberus Ice fang bounced off the second head of the Dragon Boss.
Amphisbaena retaliated with a freezing fire spell from the surviving head, only for Mystic to jump forward and smack the freezing wave aside with a casual paw.
Crazy cat too OP! Even a Dragon's strongest spell was negated like it was nothing.
I wasn't jealous, but damn. Why not me? There was no justice in this world.
