Chapter 60 · Woozy

"Oh, it's so good your back. Your room's already done and your birthday gifts are there. I know you didn't want anything but I got you..." Ripley continued as I followed behind him.

"I get that he's happy to see you and all but is he always like this," Zoe whispered next to me as we walk down the hallway.

The house itself was bare of much on the inside. The odd table with a potted plant, a painting here or there and even the old flooring was worn underfoot. We continue as my uncle lead us upstairs.

"I haven't seen him in a while so I guess he kind of, I mean, he may have missed me a bit," I whispered back "however he's taking it better than I fault he would be."

"Why wouldn't he take it well? It's not like you have done anything bad right?" Zoe continued.

"Well he... he doesn't like guest's or other people much," I replied trying to make sure my uncle definitely didn't hear that.

"What do you..." Zoe started before,

"Here you are, I tried to make sure nothing was changed while you were gone Jadey so you can talk to your friends here while I go finish some work in my studied, ok," uncle Ripley explained

I gave a little nod before he walked off the slight hum of a tune could be heard as he left.

"Jade is the rest of your family like that because if so I would thank you for not intruding me to them," Wick said behind me.

I felt the silt smile slip for a second as I looked back at him, "I wouldn't know."

"Why haven't you meet them before?" Wick commented either not seem the way I looked at him or not caring.

"Why don't you mind your own business," I hissed unable to help myself. I turned to him fully.

This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it

"Seems a bit odd, I mean your uncle seems odd so I suppose it..."

"Wick right? I'm sorry but I don't remember actually remember inviting you. In fact, I hardly know you so why don't you shut up," I hissed my throat feeling raw as my voice grew a few octaves higher.

We stood there for a bit. It took me a few seconds to release what I just said and a few more to release my fist were closed too tightly.

Drip, drip, drip.

I looked down to see the red beads role off my hand onto the floor. My blood from was my nails had cut into my hand was now ever so slowly dripping onto the floor.

The smell seemed to come next. The tiniest hint of copper. I felt my breath go shallow as my vision seemed to weaver from left to right and to left to...

"Oh... sorry," I said looking back up to see Zoe's and wicks face just starting to lose their shocked completions "sorry I'm a bit dizzy."

I wobbled as walk towards the door my legs suddenly woozy.

"Oh come here you, gods Felix was right you do faint a lot," I heard Zoe's voice say before feeling her carry me into my room.

I could smell my rooms stale air as we walked in, however, I when I went to look up taking my eyes off the floor I felt my insides wiggle unhappily. Guess I'm not doing that then.

"Here we are," Zoe told me as she leaned me down on my bed. I felt the cold puff under me as I sat down waiting for the room to stop spinning.

It was odd like the whole world was moving around me yet I was partly still. I tried closing my eyes but the feeling still felt the same.

"Try taking big breathe ok, in through the mouth and out through the nose. Or is it the other way I forget?" Zoe said sitting next to me.

Was Zoe on my bed. No, now's not the time for that stupid brain.

I took her advice taking deep breaths and the feel of spinning seemed to creep away. After a minute the room stop snipping and I was able to look up.

"You ok, want me to get your uncle so I can get you some water or something?" Zoe asked rubbing a hand on my back.

"No, no he's got work and I'm ok," I muttered looking up at her.

"You sure you still look a bit green like you're going to throw up and I really don't want to have to buy new shoes," Zoe giggled at her own little joke. At least I hope it was a joke or she was just giggling for no reason, not that it would surprise me with Zoe.

"I'm sure, please don't tell him or he might not let me see you," I explained hoping she understands I'm not joking.

"Ok, ok we understand. Hey, Wick go clean up the blood outside," Zoe said to me before turning to wick somewhere else in the room.

"Dam it," was all I heard of his muttering before the door closed with a click behind him as he stepped out.
