Chapter 50 · Lady

I looked down at Zoe's phone as it lay in my palm.

"So... you going to call him?" Zoe asked as I continued to look at the phone.

"Um well, I don't really know," I whispered

"You don't know what?" Zoe asked looking confused

"I've never used a mobile," I said shuffling my feet. I mean it's not like I ever had to use one before.

"Oh. Right. So um. Sorry I've never had this happen before," Zoe's replied

We just kind of stood there. Me trying to hand Zoe's phone back and her slow unsure hand reaching for it.

"Well then, just tell Zoe the number and she can phone him," Wick stated breaking the few seconds of silence.

"Yep, yep I can do that," Zoe said taking her phone back from me " so what's the number."

I took a few seconds for me to tell her the number and for her to hand it back to be ringing.

"Terry its Jade, I just want to know if maybe you could give me a lift the house, I'm in town, please" I whisper into the phone.

"Of course Lady Jade I will drive down myself, would the brick chimney pub be a suitable location for pickup," came Terry replied not missing a beat.

"brick chimney pub, ok, if that's ok I came to meet you there," I whispered back nodding and trying not to get flustered by Zoe now looking deeply at me.

"Of course, and should I inform sir of your visitor is this to be a surprise," came Terry's voice.

Dam it. I knew I forgotten something.

"No its ok, I mean yes if you can tell him that would be great," I stumbled

"Very good, I will meet you in twenty minutes if that suits you," Terry said

I nodded before remembering I was on a phone "yes thank you, Terry."

"Goodbye Lady Jade," was the last I heard before the line went dead.

I turn back to Zoe and Wick who both stood the looking at me.

"What," I asked after a few seconds past.

"Did he just call you 'Lady'," Zoe's ask a grin on her face and an evil spark to her eye.

I felt my cheeks warm and rub my hands together.

"Well, I think it's just his thing so..." I started before I heard the yelling.

"Jade, Jade, hey," I heard behind me. I turned around to see different women running at me.

Black braided hair ran to her shoulders and brown eyes looked towards me. She stood just above me in hight and was wearing a t-shirt with some city printed on it with a purple back-drop while a pair of jeans wrapped around her helping to show the semi-muscled legs.

She quickly came closer with a smile "Jade, right?."

I nodded, half tempted to jump behind Zoe.

"Good for a second there I fault I might have gotta the wrong person, nice to see you," she said with a hand out for a handshake.

I took her hand. I tried to speak but found my jaw had locked. I could feel my legs under me start to stake a bit.

"I see your still as quiet as you use to be, it's me Ruby from school," Ruby explained with a small handshake.

"Oh," I whispered. I remember now. She had grown from when I had last seen a few years ago. Ruby had been one of my friends from my old school day. Ok, well, maybe my only friend.

"Say I'm just off to work if your free do you want to come and bring your new friends. Don't think I've seen you a lot before, new here?" Ruby started talking to me then looking to the others
