Chapter 20 · Sunrise
It was still too weird for me. I had awoken to Zoe's arms crushing me like I was some kind of toy. Soon I knew I would have my own bed but as weird as it was I think I was going to miss the warmth.
"Ow ow ow," I whispered as she crushed me with her arms. God, she was strong.
Looking out to the window I could see it was just turning to dawn. Like a snail, I oozed my way out of her bear hug. In the dim light, I walk quickly to the doorway. My steps were silent apart from the odd winning floorboard.
I walked out to the kitchen. I looked around the marble surfaces and at the pale blue painted wooden cupboard. Slowly I started opening the cupboard up looking for some glasses or mugs to drink from. I didn't find a fridge but one of the larger cupboards seemed to have loads of weird writing over it and the milk and butter inside were cold. After looking in each cupboard I found some clean glasses.
After filling up a glass with water I quickly gulped it down surprised at how thirsty I was. Taking my half-empty glass I walked over to the living room. There wasn't much their still but the two sofas a small coffee table and the TV. Looking at the TV I could see it was super fin bit looking closer it looked to be made of some kind of polished stone with tiny letters and the line running around the edge of it.

I guessed it was some kind of magic language like on the cool cupboard. What did they call it? I think it was runes. I wasn't a big fantasy book reader, I had always just looked at videos online and stuff but when I was little my brother had been big on that kind of thing. He had always tried read to me at night about all kinds of odd worlds where people could do cool things like that.
"Uwww what time is it," I heard muttered behind me. I jump. Looking to see where the voice came from I could see Bane sitting in one of the sofa half submerged into it. How I hadn't seen her before I didn't know.
"Stupid sun. Why's it got to go up so early can it not that I'm sleeping," I heard her muttered as she blinked her eyes "oh, you're still here then. Sorry about making you jump. I'm used to being the only one awake at this time and I know Zoe sleep like a brick."
"Its fine," I whispered feeling a bit stupid for jumping. To be fair to myself I wasn't use to being near people.
"Say could you grab me some water my heads killing me. God hangovers suck." Bane said as I went to get a second glass of water. I also refilled mine as well.
As I came back Bane was sitting up. "Thanks," she mattered drinking sum before putting the rest up to her forehead.
I sat down on the over sofa and tried to look out the window. There wasn't much to see apart from over buildings but it luckily it was not to buildup around here so I could still see the sun rising. Just.
