7 - IN THE BEGINNING OF MY LITTLE END-TIME

Back on the physical and materialistic world of Tera, Meishu and his group of associates stood outside, still interrogating Cassette for her behaviour - but now, nonverbally. As, their faces, behaviour, and looks spoke for themselves. Though, not for Meishu himself, as he stared down at the ground, absolutely stunned. One minute, he was inside with thoughts of Kaminari, and the next, he’s outside - and all he has left, are thoughts. Finally, Meishu looks up at Cassette, and stares her in the eyes. “Were you jealous?” he asked her. Cassette’s legs shook, and she felt a bit worried. “I don't know.” she responded.

Behind Meishu, Lucette put her hand on her hip, and spoke “She knows exactly what she was doing!” she shouted. Meishu turned back to face Lucette, “Shut up, would you?” he asked her. Lucette sighed, and went silent, just like the rest of the group had already done prior. And so, Meishu focused his attention back forwards. As he prepared to talk to Cassette again, sounds emerged from behind her. A wagon, just like the one that Meishu, Lucette, and Kaminari had seen in the Academy, rode by, and stopped behind Cassette. From the back of the wooden, horse drawn wagon, jumped out Kräuter. Kräuter was a young German girl, and was, as one may guess, the sister of Amalia. Though, she was considerably, much much calmer - and more relaxed. Now, Kräuter dashed over to Meishu. She was a little bit shorter than him, so she had to look up at him when speaking, but she still communicated well. “What are you doing out here!? We’re having an important meeting at Town Square!” she yelled. Meishu stood still. Kräuter, with her straight white hair that went down to right above her shoulders, mid-green eyes, and closed green-flat-collared white jacket with a green shirt underneath, that could be seen going slightly past the jacket sleeve, along with her short green skirt, and green boots, announced, “\Something wrong with you!?”. Meishu stumbled and shook up on his words “N-No, Kräuter!” he told her. “Then come on, let’s get going!” she excitedly said, not knowing the events that unfolded, right before she arrived.

Sooner or later, the children said goodbye to the woman that had served them food, and went off on their way to Town Square, in Kräuter and Amalia’s wagon. In the wagon, Meishu sat next to Cassette in silence. Now feeling bad for her problems, Cassette tried to speak, but Meishu used his hand to block her. “It’s okay.” he told her. Cassette took a quick gasp in, and then looked back at the sky. Staring up at the clouds, she began to really wonder if she would ever recover from this event. ‘ Most likely not… ’ she would have thought if her brain was just a bit more complex - but all she could say to herself was ‘bad’. Soon, from her head, to actual speech, she began chanting this, as if it were a mantra. “Bad… Bad… Bad…” she said over, and over again. Until, she finally shouted, “Bad girl!”. The whole group, which had once been talking, now stopped. Kräuter, lost in what to even think, turned back to stare behind her. “I’m sorry?” she asked Cassette - not knowing what the kid was like.

Cassette shook, before saying it again. “Bad girl.” she said, more seriously this time. Kräuter felt lost again. She now stood up in the wagon. “Okay, you guys are acting weird,” she started “I need some explanations. I mean this my-” Kräuter stopped, and looked at Amalia, who was on the horse leading the wagon, “-and Amalia’s wagon!’.

All the other kids began to groan and moan, not wanting to go in depth, but Kräuter didn’t want this behaviour. In anger, she grabbed a tree branch off a tree they passed, and smacked it against the floor of the wagon. Everyone jumped, and got startled. With their attention, Kräuter threw the stick to Meishu, who caught it, after some trouble. “You, speak!” she ordered. Meishu felt off, as sweat dropped down his face. Kräuter sighed. Lucette smiled. “It hasn’t been too long, but he’s already back on lovey-stuff. I think now that he got over Cassette, he’s into you Kräuter!” she cries. Meishu’s face turns red - “Lucette, I’ve told you, shut-up! And besides, I’m not over Ca-”, Meishu stopped.

Everyone slowed turned to Meishu with smiles on their faces, and all the girls began to laugh. “Oh look at little Meishu!” Lucette announced as she stood up, “He’s surrounded by girls!”. All the girls continued laughing, as Meishu’s face turned pepper dark. Soon, the wagon came to a halting stop, and Lucette was thrown aback. Meishu fell too, and Lucette was atop it. Lucette looked at him, with her face to his. “Even in times like these, you still act like this.” she told him, before getting up. Still on the ground, Meishu felt another drop of sweat run down his face.

“So, Meishu.” a voice called from behind. It was Ciel, whom Meishu turned to face. “Huh?” Meishu asked. “Did you hear the news?” Ciel asked. Meishu stood, and faced Ciel, as from behind, Lucette dusted the dirt off of him. “The rock, some bits of it fell from the sky!” Ciel happily exclaimed. Meishu looked up, and then back. “Really?” he asked. Ciel gave a thumbs up, with her tongue showing out of her mouth, as she smiled. Then, Ciel looked into her brown wool side-shoulder bag, and pulled out a stone. Lucette stopped brushing Meishu, and gathered around with him, to look at the stone. “So, that’s the thing!?” Lucette asked in a loud voice, which made Frankie, Amalia, Cassette, and Kräuter run over. They all surrounded the stone now. “A piece of it.” Ciel said, answering Lucette’s question from just a short bit prior.

Amalia smiled and said, “Mhm! That’s cool!”, all before pulling everyone close to her. “So, why don’t we get inside!?” she asked, pointing to Town Square.

Ciel responded “Mhm! I can already smell the food!”, before putting the piece of space rock back in her pocket, and looking up at Town Square. Town Square was a collection of several huge buildings, in both weight and grand height, located in the middle of a beautiful field. All around Town Square were several small shops, and entrances into the inter-connected buildings, which had some nature and grass growing on them. Ciel smiled at the beauty, and walked in, alongside everyone else. The moment they walked in, they immediately were in the Living Room. It was full of places to sit and chat, just like at the Academy, but with several hundreds more people, and seats. When they continued forwards, they saw a larger stage than the school one, which had a whole costume studio behind it. Although they went to the left dining hall, Ciel knew that on the right side was a social library, with a cleaning room for clothes and dishes behind. Behind the eating area, there was a kitchen, which led to an outdoor kitchen with its own eating spots, and stairs up to an old playing area for kids. There was also an indoor childrens area - that was from the Living Room, which Ciel wanted to go, but everyone was ordered to the Living Room.

Now, they all sat down in the various seats, and filled up the room within minutes. In the loud space, Meishu could barely hear his own thoughts and focus, but he felt something tap his back. It was Adeline. Adeline had blonde hair, and blue eyes, with an open yellow jacket over a blue shirt, with a blue knee skirt.

Adeline sat down next to Meishu, and looked at him. “So, I heard what happened…” she told him, as he looked down. “Yeah…” Meishu responded, as bagpipes began to play. The bagpipes were beautiful, and everyone went silent - it was a call to face the stage, and Lune was up there playing them.

Adeline looked at Meishu one last time, and said, “I bet that’s why we're learning more life saving information on this rock - I know that Kami’s up there working miracles.”.

She then faced the stage, and waited for the speech to begin.
