6 - EYES FOR SEEING

After Kaminari fell into the body of water, she lost all of the consciousness that she had ever had - not even the smallest of thoughts filled her head. Everything was completely lost, and all was dark and quiet. Until, suddenly, out of the blue - or more accurately, out of the black, Kaminari’s mind came back, and her head was suddenly full of thoughts. It started with an aching pain, but now, Kaminari was conscious once more, but she still felt lost. She knew that she wasn’t in the water anymore, as, if she was, she would have been drowning. But, no, despite the lightness of the area, she could breathe. So, Kaminari decided to search around her. Slowly getting up, she realised, with her feet, that the ground was extremely light, and soft. Kaminari looked down at the ground. She couldn’t believe her eyes - she was somehow standing on clouds. Putting basic science to shame, Kaminari walked across the fluffy clouds, and looked up at the bright blue sky. Above her the sun was shining brightly, and looked huge. It was so bright, that Kaminari had to look back down, and keep her eyes to the ground. Then, as she stared at it, Kaminari decided to touch the ground. Surprisingly, she was able to pick it up, and hold it in her hands. With it in her grasp, Kaminari stood for a while thinking. Then, she ate it. With her sanity being lost, Kaminari swallowed down the cloud - and soon found it sweet, like cotton-candy, something that didn’t even exist in her lifetime. But either way, Kaminari enjoyed the cloud, and got on her knees, to continue collecting some of it. Kaminari smiled as she munched down on the clouds, until, when she reached down, she just felt air. Kaminari had reached the bottom of that cloud hole, but thankfully, there were more clouds around her. But Kaminari focused back on the hole. Down below, she could see Meishu, Frankie, and everyone lined up outside, around her body. Standing in front of them was Cassette, her killer. Somehow, Kaminari could slightly hear them, and they were asking Cassette why she did what she did. Kaminari already knew though. It was because Cassette was jealous of Meishu’s love for Lucette over her.

It was so stupid - Kaminari didn’t understand love, and what it did to people. But, for some reason, Kaminari still didn’t Cassette. She, a good girl, kept loving her, though, now in a confused manner. But, forgetting all this, she stood up, and walked forwards, off into the clouds.

She stepped for a while, before she felt something cold on her legs. It was water! Kaminari had reached what looked like a long and straight path of water. Kaminari looked at it and smiled, before drinking some. The water was fresh, and the cleanest water she had ever had. Kaminari stood up, and looked forward. Far off, there was a large building. It looked a bit like a Play Centre, or theatre. It captivated Kaminari’s eyes, and Kaminari walked to the theatre, whilst in the water. But, as she stepped through, it felt as if something was stopping her. Kaminari’s body felt as if it was heavy, and she began to start sinking. Worried, Kaminari looked at what was causing this sudden increase in weight. Around Kaminari were several things - and she recognized all of them. All of these things were the things that she loved. Her money, flowers, food, and so many more materialistic pleasures. All of these things were weighing Kaminari down, and if she didn’t drop them, she would drown down into the bottom of the waterbody. And as Kaminari stared down, she knew that anyone who went down there, would float down to the underworld - so, Kaminari finally decided to let go of all of her money, and belongings, including her clothing. So, now, she could float down the stream, and when she reached the end, to the theatre - she stared up. Standing, and waiting for her, was a woman with white robes, and long pastel blue hair. The woman said she was named Mauriamelle, and she escorted Kaminari to a changing room. The room had smooth white flooring, and walls. On the roof, were a source of light that Kaminari had never seen before. After putting on a pair of almost angelic white robes from a cubby, Kaminari looked at Mauriamelle, and asked her what powered those lanterns, and why they looked like that. To which Mauriamelle replied - “Those lights of which you are seeing, are not lanterns, and are instead - light bulbs, or balls of light. In the future, say, around the year 1980, these are commonplace. They run on electricity, a form of energy that can be found in things such as lightning.” Kaminari stared up at the lightbulb in astonishment. Looking back, she asked “If those are from the future, how did you collect them?”. Mauriamelle sat down on the same white bench in the middle of the room that Kaminari was sitting on. “You are not on the materialistic land of Tera anymore - you have now entered the heavens, or, the Spirit World. Here, the higher you go, the more laws of science on the Tera world you break - meaning that souls that reside in high places, have past the concept of time, and could be from the future, present, or past. So, some scientists from the future came here, and helped us to install these.”. Kaminari did not quite get the concept, but still loved it. Kaminari then stood up, “So, where do we go from here?” she asked. Mauriamelle pointed her hand at the wall. When Kaminari walked up to the wall, it turned out to be an automatic sliding door, which opened on its own, and revealed a light blue, and shiny hallway. Kaminari stepped down the hallway, and made her way to a staircase. When Kaminari stood on the stairs, they moved on their own. “This is known as an escalator.” Mauriamelle told her. Kaminari looked down at the escalator, before they reached the end, and stepped off. Now, they were in a different hallway. It had blue walls like the other one, but a white flooring. On the side of the hallway, there was a small white desk, with an interesting piece of work on it. Mauriamelle walked up to it. “This is a computer.” she told Kaminari. Kaminari froze, “I thought computers were large bricks that could predict sunrise and stuff.” she told Mauriamelle. Mauriamelle went onto the computer, and recorded a video of herself, to prove it was her at the door. “A computer is any machine that can work with information.” she told Kaminari. Kaminari nodded, before Maurimelle stood in front of the door. “Are you ready?” she asked Kaminari. Kaminari whispered “Yes…” as she held onto Mauriamelle’s hand. In front of them, the opened on its own, and revealed something known as an Automatic Elevation and Descent Machine - or, elevator, as we call it. Kaminari and Mauriamelle stepped into it, and listened to calming Frutiger Aero as they went down, before the door opened. Kaminari gazed to see what stood before her. It was an enormous room full of thousands of people - that Kaminari didn’t know, yet they all felt familiar. And there, Kaminari locked her eyes on something that she definitely knew. There, sitting down amongst all the people, was a more familiar face. That person - it was her mother!

Was Kaminari to feel sad about such a person’s death, or happy that she was with her? Kaminari didn’t know how to feel, and had oh so many questions.
