16 - A LEGEND BOUND FOR THE HISTORY BOOKS

Holding hands with Meishu in order to ensure that they both stayed on the same path, and did not stray away in any manner, Witchie walked alongside the group through the dense and jungly forests and woods of the Spiritual World. As the group stepped through, viewing a great many of wild animals and plants on their venture, they eventually got tired from walking, and begged for a break from the trip. Disappointed, but understanding, Witchie turned back to look at everyone. Feeling close to the group now - she asked “Y'all are really tired now!?” whilst breaking quite a sweat herself. Noticing that, Adeline tried to catch her breath - “Yes, and you are too!” she exasperated, before holding down onto her knees.

Witchie wiped the sweat off her forehead, before sitting down on top of a cut open tree. “Hm. I guess this is exhausting.” she stated, searching through with her eyes across the land. “Still nothing in sight.” said Adeline - pressuring Witchie not to waste her time. “You don’t even know what I’m searching for.” said Witchie, as she stood up, and bent over. Ciel crawled over. “In all actual reality, what are you?” she asked, mentioning the search of which Witchie mentioned. To that, Witchie smiled, before standing up. “Nothing anymore!” she replied to Ciel while holding on to her hat. Ciel frowned. “You’re one hard fella to work with!” she said, as she looked Witchie in the eyes. Ignoring her sight, Witchie looked off to see above her. “I have everything I need.” she hinted, as Meishu tried to look up as well. Witchie stared at him. “Ah - you seem tall enough!” she told him. Meishu let out a weird “Huh,” sound, as he didn’t understand what Witchie was rambling on about. “Go climb up that tree, and fetch me a stick, branch, or twig!” Witchie then ordered, pointing at Meishu, then up. Meishu himself, looked up as well. “I don’t think I do that.” he told Witchie, frightened for what could occur. Nainai’s words from earlier dashed through his head ‘Straight to hell…’. With those, Meishu knew surely that if a human died in the spiritual world - that’s where they would go - and that, despite being hell, wasn’t exactly the kind that Kaminari was in. If Kaminari was taken by an evil spirit - she would’ve been dragged to their base within the deepest levels. If Meishu went to hell, we would go even deeper, in a pool of lava beneath the beast’s home. Meishu would never be able to save Kaminari if he were there. Besides, he didn’t like burning anyway. But, even with the cautions, Witchie still insisted. “Come on, didn’t you agree to be my assistant?” she asked. Meishu nodded a nod of shame - one far different from any other that he had done in the past. “So then - go collect the stick for me!” she said. Obedient, Meishu began to slowly climb up the tree, trying not to focus on death. He could easily ignore the thought of death, but another thought still emerged. Whilst climbing, Meishu remembered his days in Japan - where he’d climb up the cherry blossom, or, Sakura trees with Kaminari attached. There, they would sit, and overlook the beautiful land. In his memories, Meishu sat, before a large crack sound came! Meishu had forgotten that he was not on top of the stiff Sakura tree, but a spiritual one! Right below him, the branches were slowly giving in, thanks to his weight. Although he tried to avoid it, Meishu eventually fell alongside the branches, right on the ground - beside Witchie. With the fall, everything went black. Was this it? Was Meishu done for? No - obviously not. I hate to be a terrible narrator, but did you not read the part of the description that said ‘12 year’? Yeah, how could one write a story like this for 12 years, and kill off the protagonist before the first finishes? Nonsense! E-E-Ehem! Anyhow -

Meishu got up from the ground, and opened his eyes. Witchie was staring right at him. “He’s okay.” she told everyone - but Charlotte disagreed. “His head!” she screamed, before Lune came forward, and lifted it. “Blood.” Stelline said from behind her. Stelline was exactly right - there was blood leaking from the back of Meishu’s head, and they needed a solution. “What’ll we do!?’ scrambled Charlotte. “I don’t even really know to be honest.” said Witchie.

This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.

Castille’s face turned shocked. “Death! Death has arrived!” she screamed. “Who read you bedtime stories as a kid? They had a bad selection choice.” her friend Flawrin said to her, as she too looked down at Meishu. Soon, everyone had taken a look at Meishu, and Lucette did so last. “Well - we’ve got to cover it up!” she screamed at everyone, as if they were idiots. “I’m not that dumb.” said Ciel as she stood by Charlotte. “Me, neither!” said Amalia as she leaned with her arms crossed onto a disappointed Kristoph. “So, how’ll we protect him?” asked Frankie, as she moved up closer from the back of the ground. Yu looked at her. “I happen to know a bit of first-aid nursing.” she told her.

Kräuter looked over at Yu. “What a convenient coincidence…” she mumbled, as Yu walked the closest to Meishu, who was groaning.

Yu examined the hole on the of Meishu’s head. “A perfect circle!” she detailed, whilst lifting it up further from the ground. “What’s that below it?” asked Frankie, as she pointed to the ground. Kräuter moved closer to see for herself, and pulled the object out of the same puddle of blood. Smearing away the blood from it, and rubbing more off with her green undershirt - Kräuter soon found the object’s true form. “A Hikidama!” she shouted in a gasp. Before anyone else could view the Hikidama like they wanted, Yu snatched it, and used it to cover the injury. “This is temporary!” she informed the group, as she fastly stood up.

Now looking at Witchie, she asked, “Any stops on the way?”.

Witchie grinned. “Yep, we’re going to one right now!” she replied, whilst holding something beside her. “This is a broom for Meishu.” she said. Yu looked at it - “Why would he need that?” she asked Witchie, who smiled more. “Weren’t you guys tired from walking so much - flying is easier!” she declared.

Ciel gave a solo clap ~

“What about the rest of us?” Flawrin asked. Witchie stood still. “Didn’t think of that. Guess you’ll have to make your own.” she then said, while hopping on the broom, and then flying off.

Lucette screamed, and snatched up the extra broomstick, “I’ll get her!” she angrily shouted, as, for a few seconds, she struggled to use the broom - before taking off straight into the air. In the air, she quickly learned the controls, and chased after Witchie before catching up. Still in air, Lucette tried to pull off Witchie’s hat, but Witchie didn’t let her - instead, holding it tight, before flying back, and landing. With more struggle, Lucette turned back as well, and then crashed straight into the ground.

“I’m okay!” she said in a muffled voice from under a pile of leaves. But, everyone didn’t care whether she was fine - they instead wanted Witchie to show them how to make broomsticks. “Come on!” they all insisted, while grabbing at her. In the beginning, Witchie didn’t care - but, when they touched her hat, she pushed them all off. “Fine, fine!” she said, while sitting down on the cut tree from before. “But - the sun is setting. Can we get some shuteye, and talk tomorrow?” she asked. “No!” everyone said together, now holding their own sticks.

“Fine, fine!” Witchie said again, shewing a mosquito off with her hand as she did so. “I’ll show you guys - but once we reach the next stop - we’re sleeping, ‘aye?” she asked.

Everyone, including injured Meishu who sat on the ground, looked at one another, and then agreed with their eyes. Looking back towards Witchie, they all screamed “Yes, so!” at her.

Witchie looked off in the distance, acting dramatic as always.

“OK - so then let’s get to work ~!”
