Hiroki was lying unconscious in a dumpster, with his hair and body covered in mud and garbage. As he slowly regained consciousness, he tried to open his eyes.
"Ouch! My whole body hurts like hell", he thought.
He could feel that his body was still weak and that he might faint again if he wasn't careful, but he needed to check something first. Thus, Hiroki tried to lift his head.
'Wow, I never expected, that lifting one's head could be this tiring.'
Hiroki managed to lift his head and slowly open his eyes, but was surprised to find that it was completely dark. Shouldn't I be on earth again? Were there some complications with the transmigration? No way, I mean, a literal god had sent me back to earth, I don't think that a god would make such a major mistake… or could that really happen?
Anyway, I needed to figure out where I was. As he thought that, he realized, that he seemed to be lying inside something, his whole body was cramped together. And what was that on the floor? It was strangely soft. He tried to grab what was underneath him. It seemed like a bag or something… wait…
'Hurk… Hurk. Why does it smell sooo bad in here? How come I didn't notice this unbearable smell earlier?'
As he smelled the disgusting smell, he suddenly realized.
"Don't tell me I landed inside a trash ca…", before he even could finish his thoughts, Hiroki fainted again due to the smell of trash and his weak body.
How the hell did this happen? Well, to understand that we have to travel 2 months into the past.
Two months ago, Hiroki had just recently celebrated his 16th birthday together with some friends, and was riding his bike on his way back home from his summer job at the local convenience store. He was minding his business, when suddenly a strange circle appeared around me.
Hiroki got scared.
'What is that? Is it dangerous?'
He pedaled as hard as he could, but he couldn't escape the strange-looking circle. It was as if it had been glued to his body. Hiroki panicked.

'WTF! What in the world is that?'
He slowed down his pedaling speed to avoid fainting from exhaustion. As he become slower, the circle, and the strange signs inside it, began to glow in a bluish color. But… nothing happened. He stopped and stepped down from his bicycle. Now that Hiroki had calmed down a bit, he analyzed the situation.
'Wait… isn't that the perfect intro for some kind of isekai story?'
He was an expert on isekai stories, having read many of them, but even Hiroki couldn't tell why nothing happened. "Kinda disappointing", he thought. While inspecting the magic circle that is usually present when someone is being transported to another world in mangas, he noticed that the inscriptions on the circle looked strangely similar to old Germanic runes.
'It must be just my imagination, because I don't think the germanic folk used to summon people from the future.'
With that being said, the circle started fading away and he had already given up on the possibility of being isekai'd.
'Well, if I think rationally about it, it wouldn't even be nice suddenly coming to a different world with no friends, family, and connections.'
As he thought that, the almost vanished circle began to shine again, this time even brighter than before. Hiroki suddenly started to feel strange.
"Oh shit, something is happening", he thought, and with that, he disappeared.
"Praise the mighty Hero who has answered our call!"
"Praise the mighty Hero!"
Praises such as these were the first things Hiroki heard, after coming back to his senses. After cautiously opening his eyes, he saw around 12 people kneeling in a circle around him. Those people wore long, black robes with their hood over their head. It was basically impossible to see their faces. Their belts were the only things not pitch black, they looked like some kind of white ropes.
'They somehow remind me of monks.'
The "monks" initiated another round of praises.
"How strange", he thought. The monks clearly spoke a different language, as he could tell from their lip movements, but he somehow understood everything they said.
'Was this that typical language translation skill that every summoned hero gets? It's kind of strange. I guess I'll need to get used to it.'
"Oh, Hero from far away, the Ambrose Kingdom and the rest of this world needs your help!", he heard one of the "monks" say. Hiroki's inner otaku was delighted, after that last sentence, he had already understood what his next tasks would be.
'It's kind of generic, but I'll take it I guess…'
They all looked at him with bright eyes and were expecting an answer. Thus, he just told them what was in his mind: "Could it be, that I have to subjugate the Demon Lord?".
The 12 "monks" were dumbfounded, you could see it in their expressions. They seemingly didn't know what to say and just kept looking at each other in confusion. After a short silence, one of the "monks", probably their leader, since his rope was not white, but red, asked in a soft voice: "…Is … Is this almighty Hero already informed about the current situation in this world?".
Hiroki had to hold back his laughter, after seeing them so shocked. It would be strange to tell them that there were many books on his home planet with plots identical to their current situation. So instead he just said: "Well... Somehow... yes".
