They were shocked that Professor Pertina had found out their secret, that they had already been on the second floor without her permission.
Afraid that they might be thrown out of the academy, Aiko decided to tell the truth. At least part of it.
He started to tell.
"Yes, they are right. We were down there. But only because the slimes were so easy to kill. We lacked a challenge. And that's when Hiroki meant that we just went to the second floor-" but he was suddenly interrupted by Hiroki.
"What the fuck are you talking about? It was you guys. You guys wanted to go to the second floor so badly. I was against it from the beginning. But you dragged me along with you." I don't know why, but Hiroki decided to act a bit and blame his friends. Probably he did it again to make the situation funnier for him.
Logically, these words angered Professor Pertina. Because it meant that Aiko had lied to her. She didn't like that at all.
"You're serious, Aiko. You're using your friend as a shield so that you and your brother won't face any consequences? Shame on you.
I was going to let you guys go at first, but now it's a little hard for me. If you can't obey the orders of a professor, then I'm not sure you're fit for this academy.
You will soon hear from the headmaster." With that, she bid them farewell. She walked away with a scowl on her face. Before that, she had forbidden them to go into a dungeon for the rest of the trip. She was a changed woman. No sign of the friendly and kind teacher she had been in the carriage on the trip.
When she was out of sight, Aiko heaved a sigh.
"I'm sorry... I messed up."
Disappointed, he looked down at the ground.
Hiroki seemed amused by the situation, so he asked his friend.
"If you had the chance to start over again, that is, at the conversation just now. Would you be able to convince them not to kick us out of the academy this time?"
Of course, Aiko answered with a yes.
So Hiroki decided to turn back time. It was easy for him, of course. After just a moment, they found themselves a few minutes in the future as Professor Pertina was explaining the mechanism of their bracelet. Aiko and Eichi looked at each other in amazement. They knew what their friend was capable of, he had been able to demonstrate it several times. But then to experience these supernatural things is even more breathtaking. They looked at each other briefly, and with a glance, Hiroki reminded them that they should concentrate if they did not want to be thrown out of school.

But, even after that conversation, Aiko didn't make it. And at the next one, she didn't either. And again not. And again. They went over the conversation several times. Hiroki kept having to turn back time, but Aiko never managed to convince Professor Pertina. He hadn't even accused Hiroki, and the latter didn't put on any more of his act either. But it remained the same. Professor Pertina wanted them to fly from the academy.
"STOP," said Hiroki. It was now the eighth time Aiko had failed.
"You're going about this completely the wrong way. In this situation, you can't try to justify yourself. She will never be able to let that pass because of her pride." He explained.
"What else could I say?" asked Aiko desperately.
Hiroki answered with a simple question.
"How do you make a good impression on teachers?"
"By always laughing excessively loudly at their jokes, no matter how bad they are?" replied Aiko, but he was doubtful if that would do any good in this situation.
"Yes, in theory, it would, but in this situation, it wouldn't do much good." He waited for another suggestion, but nothing came. So, he told them.
"You have to praise them indirectly. Teachers love praise." Through these simple words, Aiko had found new hope. Therefore, he didn't want to waste any more time, and immediately restarted the conversation.
As usual, they started at the end of Professor Pertina's talk about her bracelet. When she finished, Aiko immediately began his confession.
"Yes, Professor, we were on the second floor. But for a good reason. We always paid close attention during their lessons and practiced everything they taught us. When we applied the techniques they showed us to the slimes, they died immediately. That's why we thought we would go to the second floor to try out their strong techniques. And look, nothing happened to any of us. Thanks to your fabulous teaching, we were even able to kill some goblins ourselves." Aiko tried his best to flatter Professor Pertina. It worked, too.
Professor Pertina's cheeks turned a strong red and she grabbed them with her hands.
"Oh, come on, that's not true at all. I am only doing what is required of me as a teacher..." Though she said that, she wore a smile that was evidence of something else. Hiroki's tactics were working.
It wasn't long before Professor Pertina came to a final judgment.
"Okay, since you're so good and none of you got hurt, I'll let you off with a warning. But I must warn you, in the future, it won't be so easy, so obey your teachers. It would be a pity if you had to leave the academy because of such a trifle."
With that, the conversation was over. She said goodbye to them and walked away. She had told them before that their party was now, officially, allowed to enter the second floor.
Glad that this was finally settled, they looked for a sunny spot on the lawn and laid down there. Eichi asked Hiroki why they had to do all this when he could have just solved everything with his powers. The latter answered, however, that it would be too boring otherwise.
Aiko and Eichi were not even disappointed by this dry answer. They had understood by now that their friend had become a very mysterious and, sometimes, an incomprehensible person (theoretically, God).
They lay in the meadow and dozed. Suddenly, a figure appeared next to them. These said.
"Um, excuse me? I would have a question. Could you maybe teach me the best way to kill slimes?"
When the group saw the figure, they looked surprised.
Hiroki replied calmly.
"Oh, well, look who came."
