Chapter 22
The SeedBullet and Mutilate
Hans had enough of the wait and Treants turned out to be a not ideal conversationalist, so he shoved his resolve of mastering everything before moving ahead into the pothole and turned to the next page, only finding something more interesting.

> This spell would become your one shot, one kill spell, and the next spell scheduled to cast after restraining your target. Learning to restrain them was necessary for this spell to work because it is a high damage attack which required time to prepare like channelled spells of a regular mage. You could improve your casting time from practice, but getting this to work instantly will not be an easy feat.
>
> ----------------------------------------
This was what Hans needed. He had no way but to strangle its prey after capturing it. The approach of restraining and strangling required time and failed when the beasts were airborne or came in groups. He needed a spell like this.
> ----------------------------------------
>
> This spell would be like archery, but instead of arrows, we would be firing bullets like dwarven muskets with faster triggers and long range. Unlike their muskets, you would have unlimited bullets with more penetrating power.
>
> ----------------------------------------
Hans didn't know what kind of weapon was a musket because books about dwarven technology were taboo to publish. The nation ForgeLand was an armed nation that did not bother the world but followed one ironclad rule. Apart from dwarves, no one is allowed to use their technology unless it is granted by them.
Hans continued,
> ----------------------------------------
>
> You would have already got the OrganicIron seed, a metal like pebble, reforge its shape like a capsule with a pointy end and you would have the bullet used in the musket. Remember, the weight is inversely related to penetrating power and speed, but losing too much weight would amount to nothing, so you need to find the perfect balance on your own. My suggestion is to start with heavy bullets of half the size of your finger.

> What after creating bullets? Follow my instructions carefully because it could become a little tricky to understand…
>
> ----------------------------------------
Hans paused his reading to make the seed bullets first, it didn't take him a lot of time to make modifications in OrganicIron seed. He made several different types of bullets and was ready to test them. His research and application of bullets took his mind off of Rudolf’s absence.
Hans continued reading,
> ----------------------------------------
>
> So how to proceed after creating bullets? Follow my instructions carefully because it could become a little tricky to understand. Set a target approx ten metres away from you and try to see the surrounding mana. If you can’t, then ask a treant.
>
> After seeing the strands of mana, try concentrating the strands to make a straight path not thicker than the bullet. After making the path, try straining it like a stretching a rubber till it reaches the target. Let's call this a mana path. Place the bullet at your ends and release the tension from your end.
>
> You will see the bullet will follow the mana path with high speed and hit your target since mana in nature wants to be free from restrains, it will quickly revert back but this will provide your bullet with propulsion. This will be hard to make and you will face many failures, but it will be a devastating attack. I have seen firsthand what a dwarven musket could do, and yours will be several times stronger than them.

> After mastering and modifying it you could even take out the enemies from long distance and having no sound of firing the musket will provide you the advantage of an assassin.

Hans now focused his entire concentration on creating a dense route and stretching it to the target, but either the mana path broke or snapped back at him, both resulting in a recoil and making him bounce back. But with a lot of hits and trials, Hans found an easy way. He first concentrated all the strands right in front of him into a dense sphere and after stabilising it, Hans tried to stretch it until it met the target. This needed a lot of calculations, but he soon reached an understanding of how much he should collect initially to reach the destination.
He succeeded and followed Sam’s words by placing the bullet in his side of the end and releasing the strain. The bullet shot itself with momentum and penetrated the tree, which was its target. Hans was genuinely surprised to see the firepower that even impaled the boulder behind it.
The result was more than Hans had expected, but the downside was that it took a lot of time to create this and if, in the meantime, the target moved so all the preparation could have become fruitless. He needed to make sure the target stays immobile all the time, and this was the place of VeganBind to shine.
But instead of feeling sullen because of the long time requirement to cast a SeedBullet, he was feeling quite satisfied with his progress and was thinking of improving the seed bullet even more. Suddenly a thought came to his mind, and he called Sierra outside because what he was trying to achieve was a little dangerous by himself.
On her surveillance, Hans created the mana path, Sierra focused ManaVision to the extreme and was able to see a straight line of mana. She had no idea what it was and what Hans wanted to do, but Hans was pretty serious when he asked her to pull him back with any sign of danger.
Hans created the crying seed right on the mana path and left the control on his side of the end. He wanted to achieve the same effect as bullets but to his surprise. The crying seed got burned because of high speed without even reaching the target. The high friction reduced it to ashes.
His train of thoughts stopped by Sierra when she asked what Hans was doing, so Hans showed her the regular SeedBullet. It was a feat in itself, but he was down because he failed to achieve a perfect way to shoot VeganCarnage at the enemy.
Since there was no mention of the crying seed anywhere, Hans was new to everything about it. He thought of coating the seed so it could survive the high-speed travel until it reaches the enemy. Hans thought of a hollow cone that contained the crying seed. He wanted to test it out, but the sun was setting and night out was strictly prohibited for him. The only option left with him is to wait for the night to pass.
NEXT MORNING
Hans was ready and waiting for her grandma to show up outside. The idea of testing out his own advanced SeedBullet was more enticing to him than following the author's words. Both of them were searching for prey, but thanks to his hard luck, they couldn't find a single beast for an hour.
After one more hour, his luck changed, and they found a tough opponent. It was a TwinHeadedPanthera, a heavy-furred huge cat of almost twice the height of an adult human with two heads. Hans and Sierra hid, and fortunately, the beast was just resting by the lakeside. It was something Hans could not take care of, so Sierra was trying to conjure her spell, but the boy stopped her. He finally found a test subject, which was strong but fortunately immobile, and Hans wanted to exploit this chance.
He succeeded in creating the mana path without disturbing the surroundings and just as he envisioned, the conical bullet holding the crying seed formed and it cried as it was shot with high speed.
Unaware of what was happening, the loud cry of the seed woke the beast up, but it was too late to respond. The cone didn't have the solid structure like SeedBullet to penetrate and pass through things. It's just pierced a little at the beast’s belly where Hans had aimed. The beast roared in pain. It was not enough to kill him, but it was sure painful to bear.
To their surprise, the crying seed was trying to emerge from the tight encasing but didn't have enough strength to push itself out so sharp threads that failed to form tentacles of Carnage seed sprang out of it, trying to push out the conical casing to attain their final form. In its struggle, it ravaged the beast’s body and sliced through everything that it could touch and the aftermath of it was too horrible and gory to witness, no one could tell what sort of beast remain it was, even the bones were chopped up along with every organ. It was just like poorly minced meat.
Hans never expected this result either because VeganCarnage was not this brutal. Sierra was looking at him in surprise and her words, which he couldn't hear, made him come to his senses. Hans vomited what he ate for breakfast. He thought he had a strong stomach, but the incident proved him wrong this time.
This was a cruel and powerful attack but there was a downside too. The seed didn't have the speed because of its weight, so long-range was not possible and retrieving the target was not possible either. Apart from that, this was Hans's most powerful attack till now. So he named the attack, which suited it.
Mutilate
