Elven Lies I Chapter 114 : The Dynamic Duo(1)

CHAPTER 114

THE DYNAMIC DUO (1)

In terms of control or power, Hans’s VoidZone was nowhere near its original state and had a significant disadvantage. It made him rooted to a place, making him a sitting duck if someone managed to reach him. However, he had a plan of his own. It was his debut in a real fight, and he wanted to see how far he could go with his father's ultimate technique. His hand stretched out and shouted with everything he got.

~VoidZone~

A small wave released from Hans, making a hemisphere of his controlled mana, covering more and more area. It went past the knight, and he could feel the disconnection to the mana, halting his aura regeneration. “What the hell is this?” he shouted. He had never felt anything like it before, even fighting the big names. “What is this spell, or its a domain of a knight, But I can’t sense anyone beside the brat —.” "Swoosh," His thoughts were interrupted, and SeedBullets rained on him one after another, there was barely any interval between them. So he was forced to use his aura, covering himself in defence. “This is bad,” he said to himself, knowing if he kept defending, he’d eventually run out of aura, and that is what Hans was aiming for, but it was his secondary plan.

“Battle of attrition, No, I never like that kinda fight, no matter the odds. Just a little more,” he thought and shouted at the defending Knight, “That’s not the only thing I can do.” He started mixing several VeganBind and forcing him to use more aura to enhance his evasion. ”Just a little more. Just keep moving back.”

“Snap,” the knight had unknowingly retreated to the back and fell victim to Hans’s predatory plants. However, with a little effort, the plant froze before it could do any damage. Nonetheless, it became another thing that knight had to watch out for. Grunting in frustration, he shouted, “I was asked not to kill you until we find the artefact, But this is getting annoying…”

Skill: Blizzard Strike

He started swinging his sword randomly, but the slashes froze the path as they went on strike Hans. Even his VeganBind didn’t manage to stop them, and it reached him, forcing him to move and breaking his control over the mana.

As some breath returned to him, the knight felt the mana around. “So that’s how it works, it’s a scary ability but with a great flaw.” The knight said as he continued to return Hans’s favour. It was now Hans’s time to dodge. “Should I just go nuts, I’ve unlimited mana anyway.” Hans thought, “No, it will probably lead everyone here, Gramps will throw me inside. ---” The knight got annoyed, finding Hans thinking something else while fighting him, “How dare you ignore me, brat,”. It was scratching his pride, he was going easy on him because he needed the information, but his patience got a limit, and Hans’s act just crossed them.

Skill: Sword Hails

Unlike the blizzard Strike that froze anything on contact, this time, his aura manifested and turned into various ice swords. “One two three…..twelve, damn it” Hans counted as he shouted. All were aiming at him. “This is a problem.” But soon he slapped his cheeks, coming back to his senses, "Focus, man focus." As the ice swords targeted him, he said aloud,“ Problems are opportunities, So get out of my face.”

~VoidZone~

His act sent a little fluctuation, covering the surroundings in his hemispherical control again. And the Seventy grade knight again felt his connection to the world's mana dissolving. However, unlike before he didn’t get startled. “You think, I don’t have enough aura to send these things to you.” But ignoring him completely, Hans thought, “I can negate three, that leaves nine to fend for —” “Swoosh,” all the ice swords shot like javelins towards Hans, and three got negated quickly by SeedBullets, but the rest came like rushing bulls. Its spread covered all of his evading positions. “He is leaving no room for manoeuvre, haan! I have a defence too, you sucker.”

~VeganBind + FlameBind~

With speed and agility, he swiftly summoned a barricade of entwined vines to intercept the airborne ice swords. Reinforcing it with another layer of Flamebind from the back. However, this fusion slightly compromised its firepower, but Hans was not in need of any. He wanted a barrier that could work on the incoming attack, and he got one. When the ice swords tried to stab through the green vine wall, the flame bind melted them before they could reach him. “Shweek,” but one managed to graze his legs. “Shit! There goes my agility,” Hans shouted as the pain reached his head. “I can’t dilly dally now, I need to make sure that he can’t negate my crying seed before it makes contact, or should I use the third ability of VodZone, Inectio? But that sod won’t stay still like I want.”

“So you are not just a brat, you got some moves, But you’ll soon be running out of mana…”

“In your dreams... Iss..” he felt the pain again, “I just need you to stay put for a minute. Only if I have a pair of extra hands—”

“Do You Need Help?”

Both knight and hans turned to the source of the voice, “A second circle came to kill herself.” the knight interrupted. However, hans needed this variable, “What are you waiting for Deli, an —”

“Invitation, oh yes please,” Delimira completed Hans's sentence, adding, “I thought you might get grumpy if I meddle in.”

“Wait!” Hans asked, twitching his brows, “Since when were you here?”

“Since you went flying.”

“So, you saw the whole thing.”

Nodding, she again replied, “Yes, but what are you doing, you can’t take on a grade seventy, it's idiotic to fight with a clear outcome. Let's get out of here.”

“Do you think, I’ll allow it —”

“Oh, shut up,” Delimira said in a tone that clearly showed she was looking down on him, “If I want to take him away, even your whole company can’t stop me.” The knight remained silent because he knew those confident eyes, they weren’t lying. But Hans was genuinely surprised, “Hey, where does your confidence come from?” he whispered to her as she came beside him and looking at his twitching face, she responded, “I also learned some decent tricks, Hans. Do you think I was doing nothing when you learned VoidZone? So get ready, we are leaving here. It's not our stage yet.”

“No,” Hans refused, and his stand was firm, “I’m not leaving.”

“Don’t be stubborn idiot, there is a difference in power. We can’t take him on.”

“No, they came blowing up our doors, we ought to serve them well, and I can’t watch someone act —”

“Act cooler than you, I get it but —”

“Then stop that bastard for a while, buy me some time.”

“Aagh, you stubborn fool. Tsk, how much time do you need?” she asked, and Hans instantly responded, “As much as you can buy, get that guy rooted.” His words left him, and Deli unbuckled her rapier from the waist, asking Hans in a muffled voice, “So, do you still believe Samwell sent them?”

“Yes, this fool kept asking me for an artefact that I don’t have— ”

“Brats, if you finished your goodbyes, shall I escort you to your death doors,” the knight interrupted, but Deli cut him off again, “Stop meddling, we are talking here,” and glancing at Hans, she asked, “How confident are you?”

“If all works well,” Hans responded, “he’ll be begging for his life.”

“That’s fine by me, but don’t delay much, I’m still not very good at using Krosh art.” She unsheathed her rapier, making the knight curious and finally realising who she was, the knight got delighted, “ A second circle, with a rapier, guess this is my lucky day, I get to kill the Parvian brat and the new sword mage. This is bound to give me a promotion.”

“Yeah, congratulations on your ascension,” Delimira responded, standing in Hans’s front. “I’m fighting out of my league here, so hurry.” Closing her eyes momentarily, she concentrated and shouted. “Let's get this over —” “Swoosh,” the knight’s sword cut off her words in the middle like the air horizontally. “Tsk," Delimira got annoyed again, "I was in the middle of talking, you pansy.” Her skin started to crack up, like a drought land, and from within those cracks, a dense dark smoke gushed out. And, pointing her rapier she asked the knight, “Tell me who sent you and get out of here. Hans seemed pretty confident, you’ll lose your life here —”

“Hey Deli, stop acting like a wuss and attack him already,” Hans shouted from the back. “Tsk and this moron asked me to buy time, what do you think I’m doing, idiot?” she glanced at him, and her thoughts must have been conveyed since Hans belatedly realised what she was aiming at and started preparing for his ultimate move. Delimira asked the knight again, “Tell us who sent you here?” The knight, still laidback, crossed his arms, “Hmm since I’m killing you anyway. I should at least tell you, it's your king Samwell Grim—”

“It's not him then!” Hans and Delimira interrupted in unison. A subordinate sent by Samwell will never acknowledge himself as one, and he addressed Samwell as ‘your king’, he thought he was talking to children but he was thoroughly wrong. Both Hans and Delimira were intelligent enough that someone was pulling the strings from behind. “Hans,” Delimira said without looking back at him, “Did you mess with anyone else?”

“No" Hans instantly denied, "Not that I know of.”

“Is your plan ready?” Delimira confirmed again, and Hans felt the control reaching over World's Mana again. He was not just simply chatting while conversing with the enemy. “Now,” he shouted.

~VoidZone~

His control over mana widened, and the knight felt disconnection once again. And as Delimira was waiting for the moment. She smirked, “We are really compatible now, Hans,” she declared, not feeling any restriction in Hans's VoidZone and closing her eyes again she shouted.

Krosh art first move - Mirage

The smoke surrounding her acted violently and disappeared along with Delimira.
