Elven Lies I Chapter 109: The Annoying Royalty (1)

CHAPTER 109

THE ANNOYING ROYALTY (1)

“Woah, wait,” Hans commanded in haste, and Aldrich was not one to dilly dally in sensing some scary presences in the mansion. After all, he was a dominion knight, one of the mighty existence in the county. “Are we under attack or what?” he muttered. But Hans on the other hand was expanding his influence further and further to know more. Since his mastery over the AntiMana field, his senses had grown so much, and if he let loose the control, it could smoothly cover over hundred metres.

“Hmm. I wasn't told that Uncle was visiting, “ Hans muttered, but it could not escape Aldrich’s ears,“ Uncle?” he asked in surprise. The only one his young Lord could call Uncle was the king himself.

Hans jumped out of the carriage and went right in with a bang, “Ha, I was right. What are you doing here, UNCLE,” he shouted without holding his manners and continued taking long strides towards him only to be stopped by one of his dominion knights. With visible displeasure on his face, the knight said, “He is the king of the country —“

“And you are just a knight, so shut up. Grown-ups are talking here. Haan !” Hans instantly refuted.

“You are still funny Hans,” the king chimed in, not wanting to make an issue of this since he knew Hans would be guaranteed to make a molehill out of this. Shifting his gaze to the voice, Hans commented, “And you still keep useless people around Uncle.”

“Uncle,” the king was surprised at first, but thought that Hans was going to call him only once, not continuing this charade for long, but since he called him uncle once again, he was startled. “Hearing uncle sounds good, but you were very reluctant in the past,” he asked in confusion.

“Well,” Hans spoke with a smug face, “ I was pretty pissed last time. I hate rain, and you caused it for days.”

“But calling me Uncle, it sure is not Count Rudolf’s idea.” The King said, thinking hard, but Rudolf interrupted, scolding Hans softly, “Hey Squeaky, shut up and come here. Don’t cause any mess.”

“Chill old man, I’m talking to a family elder here —”

“Ah, my head,” Rudolf clasped his head and whispered to his wife, “Dear, shut this blabbermouth before he causes any more trouble.” But before Sierra could say something, Samwell spoke happily, “Hmm… Uncle sure sounds nice.”

“Then give it to me?” Hans extended his hand as the king exchanged glances with others in the room, not understanding what was happening. And after not receiving any answers, Hans looked at the King and spoke up, “When an elder visits the young one, he should bring some gifts, right? You won’t lack common sense, won’t you UNCLE? This is your second visit, and you brought too much annoyance again.”

“Woah, he sure is a nutjob,” Deli almost said aloud, and Sierra signalled him, “Get him.” so she reached Hans in a jiffy, and interrupted, “Hans, you must’ve hit heatstroke —”

“What nonsense are you talking, it's fricking cold out—”

“That's what I’m saying, what nonsense are you talking, shut up.”

But like his previous visit, Samwell did not get offended by him. Instead, he played along, “Sorry I didn’t bring anything this time either.”

“You have a thick ski uw..” Delmira was forced to shut his mouth with her hand and asked the king politely, “Pardon him, he is not mentally stable, right now. I should bring him to his room.” After saying that, she practically dragged him out of there. And when they reached his room, Hans removed her hand and shouted at her, “What the hell, Winters —”

“Haha:” she laughed holding her stomach, and said, “That was awesome.”

“So, you aren’t going to lecture me —”

“Why would I? I’m not your mother.”

“Way to rub salt in my wounds, Deli.”

“Oh, sorry about that, but you really are a nutjob. Aren’t you? That's the fricking king of your nation.” She emphasised, but Hans refuted, “Then he should act like one. Why is he going with the whole powerhouses of Grimgar.” And the answer came from the door, “That’s probably because Eclipse is making a mess.” Hodges replied to the children. “And why are you here, Mr Hodges? You should serve the guests, shouldn’t you?”

“My job became a lot troubling thanks to my young Lord disrespecting the king on his face — ”

“Then,” Deli interrupted, “it's okay to do that behind his back.”

“Nice one, Deli,” Hans said, cheering up.

“Aah, aah, my head, my problems are multiplying,” Hodges whined, clasping his head while both, Hans and Delimira laughed it out. Forgetting that there were some difficult matters discussed right below their floor. But Hans did not forget that entirely, and after teasing Hodges for a time, he asked him, “Why is he here?” and Hodges replied, “Most probably because of the blunder Xandor caused.”

“Didn’t they got their ass handed to them by Alliance —”

“Language, young Lord —”

“People are dying and you are worrying about me picking bad words, just give me the answer, Mr Hodges.”

The butler sighed and thought, “Just when will I get a chance for retirement?” and answered Hans, “That’s what Alliance is preaching, the reality is something else”

“And that is?” Hans asked, tightening her brows. However, Hodges contemplated before answering and reached the verdict, if the words were going to enter children's ears anyway, it does not matter if it was from his mouth so he spoke the truth, “They aimed to steal something, Alliance still don’t know what it was and the attack on Clandor.

“And how did we get to know that?”

“Sir, Dijkstra was there, he went there to Kill Cornell, the one who commissioned young Winters lady's assassination and spoiled Xandor’s plan on the way. So he wrote back to Count Rudolf some time ago, explaining everything.”

“Wow,” Hans turned to Delimira and said, “We were right, Winters... Winters.” He shook her since she was in a daze and asked Hodges, “She must be alright, I mean, the princess, she is alright, right?”

“Yes, she is fine and suffered nothing. She should thank Dijkstra. He unknowingly saved their royalty. I’m sure he is sitting in some corner and plucking his hair after realising it.”

“Thank god Allynna is well.”

“So who is she to you,” Hans asked, “ I thought you didn't like anyone there.”

“No, she is different, if you met her, you are gonna like her a lot, unlike us, she has a pure heart.”

“Me liking an elf,” Hans denied the notion and continued, “Befriending one is enough Deli.” And he turned to Hodges, asking him, “So until when are you stuck with us, Mr Hodges?” Hodges found a nearby chair and he said, sitting as he rubbed his knees, “Until I'm told not to, young Lord.” Hans made an annoying face and replied, “That’s one way to waste my time.”

“Can’t help it, young Lord, you act first, think later.”

“No, I do not,” Hans said as he turned to Delimira for affirmation, but she just looked at the other side, totally avoiding his eyes and asking her to agree with him. “Traitor, Winters.” But she responded to those words, “You know that’s right, Hans.”

“So, I’m the reckless idiot,” Hans shouted as he slipped towards the window and, shouted as he jumped out, “then this reckless idiot is going to his private garden, don’t follow me, or I’ll get nuts with our guests.”

“He won’t cause anything if he is busy with whatever he is doing,” Delimira assured Hodges, and both descended the stars. “Mr Butler, is the attack on Alliance the sole reason for the king of the Grimgar to visit this place?” Hodges nodded in concern and added, “I hope so because I don’t want to handle any other messes, our Count is one thing, and now the young Lord is acting like him too.”

“Well, they are family after all,” Delimira commented with a smile, and Hodges replied to her with the same demeanour, “Him being reckless is fine, I just do not want him to turn like his father.”

“Why?” Delimira asked with confusion, it was apparent that this household respected Samson a great deal, so he was a little taken aback by Hodges’s words and the old butler was sharp enough to catch her puzzled thought. So he responded in kind, “His father would have killed half of the knights by now. Even in younger days, just for the reason they bought a massive force in his territory.”

“I can’t argue with that,” Delimira responded, “It's threatening to be under the watch of these powerful figures.” Hodges was the one startled, “I thought, you would think of him as a crazy, drunk in power.” Delimira shook his head and replied to the butler, “Unlike Hans, his every action means something, right?”

“He’d have liked you young lady, he had a few friends who could understand him.”

“Was Mother one of them?” Delimira asked, anticipating an answer, but Hodges shook his head and replied, “No, but your father was, and a child named Mormon.”

“Mormon?” Delimira asked back, and Hodges responded, “Yes, he died young, but before our Young Lord Samson befriended Elves, they were almost inseparable. His death shook him pretty badly then the elves pulled him out of his misery. That's how he ends up being friends with your mother.”

“I didn’t know this —”

“A very few people know this, young lady… Ah, we are here.”Hodges said as they reached the hall, and Delimra left him to be seated right next to Sierra.

As everyone turned to her, “She is my disciple,” Sierra introduced her to the royal family, and they got a reply from the young prince accompanying the king. “I’m the second prince, Abrahim, and she is my only sister, Princess Cynthia.” But the princess had her own set of words to say in her introduction, she lifted her gaze towards Delimira and remarked, “Are you the slut I’m seeing all over the royal capital?”
