Chapter 63 – Aftermath (III)
“Though you probably know about it, the truth is that you two were involved in a dispute against a very powerful clan.” Said the old man with a serious expression. “This clan, the Crow family, is one of the local clans in the Lion Empire, and their overall power is only below the royal family.
“Apparently, the one responsible for the attack was the young master sent by the family to be in charge of the search for the supreme emptiness flame. From what I know, the reason because he ordered the attack was mainly because he had various disputes with you.”
Aiden nodded hearing it.
“The thing is, though I was able to make use of their attack to suppress the family’s standing in the city, it’s impossible for me to kill their members. The most I could do was to send the young master to prison for a few days and not allow for their members to leave their place of residence in the coming days. After all, though I’m strong, I cannot to be compared to an entire clan
“However, I think they will not leave the matter of you killing three of their members pass. Though they are unable to act against you currently, I’m sure they will wait for an opportunity to seek revenge. Because of it, you must be careful.”
“I understand.” Nodded Aiden seriously.
Seeing that Aiden took his words seriously, the old man assented in his mind and continued speaking. After all, there were more issues to discuss.
“On the other hand, the matter with the youth of the Noah clan… Though I had been able to hide his dead, it’s impossible to do it permanently. However, your relationship with the Noah clan is a bit… messy. So, I can only suggest that you avoid claiming having killed him. After all, from what I know, he didn’t clarify where he was going when he left home that night.”
Hearing the old man’s words, Aiden thought silently for a moment. But finally, he decided to do like the old man said. After all, he didn’t want to have too many interactions with the members of his clan.
Seeing Aiden agreeing, the old man nodded in approval before offering a suggestion.
“I think that it’s better if you leave the town. After all, it will make harder for the Crow family deal with you. Besides, I heard that the main force of the Noah family will be reaching the town soon together with some members of the Allgod kingdom’s royal family. I’m sure that you don’t want to risk encountering them.”
Aiden looked towards the old man when he heard that someone from his clan would reach soon to the town. After hesitating for a bit, he decided to ask.
“… Do you know who was sent by the clan to the town?”
The old man looked towards Aiden silently and replied. “I’m not sure about the elders, but I heard that the young miss from the clan was the representative.”
“… So it is Sia huh…”
Aiden seemed slightly pained when he heard that Sia was the one coming. At the same time, a trace of hesitation appeared in his face.
“Young master…”
Looking towards Lia, Aiden noticed her looking towards him with worry. Seeing it, he smiled slightly before turning towards the old man and opening his mouth to speak.
But before he could to do it, the old man spoke first.
“… You probably don’t want to hear it, but I also heard that the young princess from the Allgod kingdom is coming with her. Apparently, she will be the representative of the royal family.”

When Aiden heard it, an agitated expression appeared in Aiden’s face.
The expression disappeared almost immediately, but the other two people in the town were sharp enough to notice it.
Lia made immediately a worried expression.
Calming his thoughts, Aiden smiled reassuringly towards Lia once more before turning towards the old man.
“Me and Lia will be leaving the town tomorrow. I think my injuries are almost completely recovered and like you said, it’s better if we leave the town as soon as possible.”
Seeing Lia nodding behind Aiden, the old man agreed immediately and promised his help. “I already ordered for your things to be brought from your house. You can ask the servants for them. However, there is something else you must to do before parting from the town.”
“… What do you mean?” Asked Aiden after failing to find a reason.
Sighing silently, the old man signaled towards Aiden chest and spoke slowly.
“Had you forgotten? You broke through core-fusing that night…”
Instantly, an expression of astonishment appeared in Aiden’s face.
Yes, how could he forget…
That night, he used his saber manifestation as a medium to break through core-fusing.
Perhaps because of the situation when he woke up, Aiden had ignored completely the fact that he finally broke through the limitations he had for four years. Or perhaps, because the situation was too incredible, Aiden decided to ignore it unconsciously.
But now that the old man mentioned it, realization hit Aiden.
He had finally broken through…
Seeing the astonished expression in Aiden’s face, the old man seemed understand his feelings. And at the same time, Lia giggled happily.
To be sincere, they all found hard to believe that Aiden was able to breakthrough without a spirit.
However, now was not the moment to celebrate.
“… To be sincere, I was happy that you were able to breakthrough when you did. However, things are not so easy like you think…
“Tell me boy, what do you think that will happen when word about your achievement spread? Do you think that others will be happy for you?
“You underestimate the influence of spirit holders in the continent.”
Seeing the serious expression of the old man, Aiden could not help but hear attentively. However, the next words from the old man surprised him.
“When word of your breakthrough spread, the first thing to happen will be that many influences will try kill you. The second thing will be that many others will try kidnap you to experiment about the reason of your success.
“Tell me, boy. Do you think you will be able to escape the chase of all the influences in the world?”
Aiden expression darkened when he heard it.
However, when he thought that things were going south, the old man next words relieved him.
“Fortunately, I was able to hide your fight from the powerhouses in the city, so currently, nobody but me, Lia and you know about it… Oh right, old Felm knows about it too…”
“Felm?” Asked Aiden.
“The old man in Heavens’ Secret.” Answered the old man with a wave of his hand. “That is his name.”
For a moment, a worried expression appeared in Aiden face.
The old man smiled slightly after seeing it. With a smile, he said: “Don’t worry. Though he is a bit eccentric, that old man is someone that I trust.”
Hearing it, Aiden sighed in relief.
“However,” Continued Old Brake. “It didn’t change that you will find it difficult to hide your lack of spirit; mainly from stronger cultivators. Because of it, I prepared a few things for you. You can consider it like a compensation of sorts…”
Saying it, the old man opened a drawer and took two things from there. Two different rings. One black and one red.
Holding them in his hands, he signaled for Aiden to take them.
“One of them is a space ring. Inside there are a small amount of money as a reward from mi part. The second is a concealment artifact. It can help someone to hide his spirit from his opponents. It’s used when you don’t want to reveal your background. With it, people will not suspect your lack of spirit.”
When Aiden heard it, he could not help but look with a complicated expression to the old man. But at the end, he received the two gifts.
The old man noticed Aiden’s expression. Sighing, he motioned for Aiden to leave and said in a depressed tone.
“As I said, you can consider them like the compensation for the problems of that night. With it, there is nothing more between us…”
When Aiden heard it, he sighed deeply inside his heart. But at the end, he left the place.
…
Once Aiden and Lia left the place, a shadow appeared in a corner of the office.
Looking towards the old man seated in the reclined chair, the shadow spoke.
“Why you lied to the boy, old man?”
With a distressed expression, old Brake spoke: “… Sigh. That boy future will be filled with perils and difficulties. I don’t want to make it harder for associating him with me… It’s better if our relation is cut from now…”
The shadow kept silent when he heard his friend’s words. Then, with a sigh, he simply left the place. Behind him, a few words resounded in place.
“I don’t think it’s the right choice, old man… The boy had the right to decide for himself…”
