Chapter 28 – An Unexpected Situation
“You two! Stop!”
A dignified and beautiful voice resounded in the moment when Aiden and the youth were about fight.
When Aiden heard the voice, he strangely felt compelled to obey it. Stopping surprised, Aiden looked towards the servant only to see him completely paralyzed.
Even the people in the surroundings seemed affected by the voice because after it resounded, the place quieted down completely.
The little girl crying in the ground, also stopped sobbing and stared towards the origin of the voice.
A beautiful girl was there before them.
The girl carried with her a kind of noble elegance that made everybody submit before her unconsciously. Even Aiden felt himself suppressed before her, though the effects of it were lesser than the common peoples in the surroundings.
The girl walked towards them gracefully. Around her, all the people parted as if it were only natural give way. Aiden felt as if the girl were a queen and everybody else the subjects.
When she walked, her beautiful long platinum hair waved freely in the air and her icy gaze seemed penetrate the minds of anyone brave enough to match it. She was wearing a blue dress reaching her knees and a silver rapier rested in her waist.
In term of appearance and temperament, this girl’s shining platinum hair and icy cold expression far surpassed Lia’s white hair and gentle temperament, though Aiden sincerely thought that Lia was more beautiful.
The most fearsome thing though, was that Aiden was unable of determine her cultivation.
Seeing the girl almost before them, Aiden straightened his body and put a serious expression preparing to respond at any unexpected situation.
The girl stopped half a meter from them and looked around with a frowning expression in her face.
Seeing the destroyed stall, the crying girl and the youth unconscious in the ground, she put an indifferent expression and spoke in a cold tone.
“Could someone tell me what happened her?”
Hearing the woman speak, the servant with the sword unsheathed tried speaking.
“Y-Young lady, y-you s-”
“Shut up! I didn’t say you could speak yet.” The icy girl spoke fiercely interrupting the servant. Then, she signaled someone between the crowd. “You. Tell me what happened.”
Aiden frowned seeing it, unsure of her intentions. Meanwhile, the man that was signaled began to recount nervously the happened.
The girl heard carefully the words spoken for the man, then, understating the situation, she looked again towards the ones involved with the incident.
“You.” Signaling the little girl, she threw a gold coin. “Take it and return to your home. It’s better if you stay in your home and don’t go out for a few days.”
If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
“T-Thank you, m-miss.” The little girl bowed nervously looking curiously to the coin in her hand, then she grabbed the few things she had and ran away from the place. The icy girl however, kept her indifferent expression before it all.
Though a gold coin is not enough to be considered a fortune, it is enough for a small family live well for a few months. Aiden isn’t someone poor, but even him wasn’t so indifferent after giving a gold coin.
The icy girl waited for the child leave before looking again towards Aiden and the servants.
Frowning deeply, she made a displeased expression and looked toward the servant with the sword.
“You. Are you not ashamed? Using the name of your master to bully the weak. Is it like the Crow family teach their servants?” She spoke with a clear tone, dignity exuding from her. “Not only you two attacked a defenseless child in the name of your master, you even were defeated for someone in the process. Have shame.”
The servant gritted his teeth unable of saying anything. Seeing it, the girl continued: “Take your companion with you and go away. Tell your young master that I was the one ordering you.”
The young servant only could bow humiliated to the girl before carrying his companion with him and leaving the place. In the way, he gazed Aiden viciously before snorting. Seeing the gaze of the servant, Aiden thought for a moment before sighing. He unexpectedly ended making of a simple stroll a problem. He could only hope that the young master of the two servants have something better to do than searching for a nameless commoner like him.
After the pair left, the girl remained silent for a moment while examining Aiden what remained straight and looking her to the eyes.
After a moment, she sighed and said: “Though I sort of admire your courage, it’s best if you return to your house and avoid going out in the new few days. The master of that two guys is a petty guy and I have not doubt he will make the things difficult for you if he finds the opportunity. Besides, the situation in this town will become pretty complex in the next few days and I have the presentiment that you will only end in more troubles with your personality.” Saying it, she immediately turned and left.
Seeing the back of the girl walking away, Aiden bowed deeply while thinking that she was gentler than her appearance showed. At the same time, he also thought about why everybody thinks that he will only end in troubles.
After the girl was gone, Aiden looked to his surroundings and took the things he left in the ground before attacking the servants. Then, shaking his hand, he proceeded to walk towards his home.
In the way, Aiden noticed many unfamiliar faces in the town. Though not all of them were dressed extravagantly like the servants of the icy girl, many of them were carrying weapons and walking while attentive of their surroundings.
Not just it, but though Aiden didn’t pay attention before, now he looked carefully, he was unable of determine the cultivations of many of them.
Seeing it, Aiden could not help but think about the reason because so many spirit users came at this remote town.
Could it be because of the stone of calamity? No. When the old man told me about the troubles coming to the town for the first time, the town hall didn’t know about the stone of calamity yet. But, if it is no it, what is the reason then?
Unable of finding an answer, Aiden continued walking while thinking about it.
However, in that moment, Aiden saw a sight that made it impossible for him continue his path.
In a corner of his eye, a pair of youths were looking around trying find something. From time in time, they stopped some pedestrians to ask only to end disappointed.
The youths were both very striking in appearance. Not only were them handsome and dressed like noble children, but their hair was particularly attractive.
Both of them had mostly black hair, however some strands of their hair were of a different color. The taller of the two had a few strands of red mixed with his hair, while the other had a few lines of white decorating his glossy hair.
If someone knowledgeable was here, he would have been unable of recognizing the origin of the youths only for that features.
The Noah clan.
The clan where Aiden was born.
Though Aiden was unable to recognize their identities, he was sure it.
They were members of the Noah clan.
Are they here for me?
The pair of youths seemed to feel his gaze because the two walked towards him.
Seeing it, Aiden suppressed his nervousness and tried making a natural expression. A moment later, the pair was almost before him.
The particular hair of the pair was even more noticeable now. Examining their features from near, Aiden was even more sure they were members of the Noah clan.
Coming before him, the pair smiled amiably and the taller one spoke.
“Excuse us, can you help us with something?”
