Chapter 59 – Fear the Night, Unsheathe the Saber, Thread the Fate (XIII)
“So, will you say your last words, young master?” Said the youth in a playful voice.
Hearing it, Aiden only grabbed its saber strongly. Then, he struggled to stand up.
“I guess it means no.” Giggled the youth.
Using his saber as support, Aiden was able to stand after struggling for a moment. Then, he waited for the enemy attack.
He knew that he only had an opportunity. His energy was only enough to attack once, and if he was successful, he would be able to wound gravely or even kill his enemy.
After all, the youth cultivation was only in the middle-core fusing realm.
With his saber manifestation, he had an opportunity to turn the tables.
Did he not kill an even stronger opponent just a moment ago?
“Are you ready?” Said the youth. Then, he raised his metallic claw.
And with a brilliant glow from the energy infused in the weapon, he attacked.
The youth movement was very aggressive, opening the claw to close all the escape routes of his opponent. It was obvious that he was very experienced with the weapon.
But Aiden didn’t despair.
Instead, he moved his saber.
Infusing the last bit of energy in his saber, Aiden summoned his martial manifestation slowly and guide it to his attack, forgoing completely his defenses.
Aiden thought that it was the stronger move he had made in all his life.
Forgoing defense, dedicating everything to an attack. For a moment, he felt something different in his saber.
Something purer, stronger and mightier.
It was perhaps, the true meaning of a saber attack.
… But even it wasn’t enough.
The saber, imbued with a powerful saber manifestation, erupted mightily against the claw, cutting with a sharpness incomparable to any weapons.
But though it was able to stop the claw, it could not do any more.
Receiving the shockwaves of the collision, Aiden’s body flew backwards quickly. At the same time, the youth also retreated a few steps.
Then, while a drop of blood flowed from his mouth, he smiled.

“Hahaha! You are truly incredible, beloved young master! Worthy of being once considered the greatest talent the clan saw in many years! To think you were able to comprehend saber manifestation even after losing your spirit!”
Laughing maniacally, the youth looked towards Aiden with a sneer.
“But, that is not enough…”
In the ground, Aiden had an astonished expression when his saber was only able to injure slightly to the youth.
After all, he knew more than anyone about the power of his attack.
“You look surprised, fallen young master.” Said the youth. “It’s normal, though. After all, you were probably sure that such attack was more than enough to, at least, injure me badly.”
Aiden could only cough blood while hearing the youth speak.
“Umm, now I think about it, I did not introduce myself before. Well, this is a good moment to do it… My name is Clearance, Clearance Noah. A pleasure to meet you.” With a bow, the youth spoke.
“You are…”
“Hahaha, yes, you understand fast, young master. You are right, I’m one of the clan’s current generation’s geniuses.”
For a moment, the youth, Clearance, looked towards youth with serious expression. However, such expression changed to a mocking one in an instant.
“Though I cannot compare myself to a true genius like miss Sia or your beautiful maid, it’s not hard for me to fight someone stronger than me. To be sincere, I didn’t find difficult to fight someone at the peak of core-fusing.”
“So that is the reason huh…” Aiden shook his head bitterly. He wasn’t sure of killing a peak core-fusing cultivator in his peak state, not to speak now when he is in such form.
“To be sincere, I’m not sure of being able to kill you if you were uninjured. After all, even if your cultivation is only at the late core-forming, the saber manifestation is more than enough to make for it. However, I will not have trouble in killing the current you.” Said him with a fake look of pity.
“Truly hilarious, don’t you think? Even when crippled, your strength is more than enough to fight someone more than an entire realm stronger than you. Worthy of someone praised like a genius… But it only makes killing you even more pleasurable!”
With a crazy smile. Clearance began to walk towards Aiden, the claw in his right arm creating sparks against the ground.
“How it feels, oh fallen genius, knowing that despite your talent you will only able to reach until this point. Is it painful? Hahaha, tell me! Is it painful!?”
With a kick in his stomach, Aiden’s body flew towards a wall, unable to offer any resistance.
“Tell me!” Continue laughing Clearance while waving his claw against Aiden face. Luckily, Aiden managed to use his saber to block the attack. However, he was unable to stop his body from flying backwards again.
“What it matters if you are good with the saber!? You cannot to do anything without a spirit!”
With another kick, Aiden body hit another wall before falling to the ground.
“What, are you going to make your saber a spirit?” Laughed the youth, amused from Aiden’s current situation.
Aiden was unable to answer. Currently, his body was filled with more injures than ever. He found hard moving even his hand. However, he didn’t let go of his saber.
Even in this moment when all hope seemed lost, he didn’t let go of it.
He did not want die like this. Humiliated by his own family and with Lia’s future on the line. It wasn’t something that he could accept.
Because of it, he thought.
About a method to overturn the situation.
About a way to defeat his enemy.
About the answer he was searching for so long.
… An unexpectedly, he found it.
“…. You are right, I cannot to make my saber a spirit.” Said Aiden, still lying in the ground.
The step of the youth with black and red hair were closing to him, and the sound of the claws cutting the ground echoed in his ears. But even with it, Aiden chuckled.
“No… why I need a spirit?”
“Huh? Have you finally become crazy?” Said Clearance with a tone of doubt and joy. “I didn’t expect that you would be unable to endure the pressure.”
However, Aiden ignored the tone of his words. Instead, he spoke.
“I must thank you, Clearance. After all, if not for you, I probably wouldn’t have been able to notice it anytime soon.”
Looking towards the saber in his hand, millions of emotions attacked his mind. Joy, relief, excitement, and many emotions more.
The thing he had always desired, it was always besides him.
“From the beginning, I only needed the saber.”
So, answer, oh saber of mine!
