Chapter 34 – Blades vs Threads (II)

Returning to the morning of the day…

It had been three days from when Aiden and Lia acquired the information about the supreme emptiness flame.

After knowing about the troubles brewing in the town, Aiden decided it was better if him maintained a low profile, so for the next days he didn’t leave the house.

As consequence, Lia had to take care of all the errands Aiden normally did in the town.

Due it, Lia left the house in the morning with the end of going to the market to get fresh meat and vegetables. Aiden for his part, stayed in the house meditating and practicing with the saber with the goal of preparing for the ritual; and if he is lucky, comprehend saber manifestation sooner.

Like all the mornings from three days ago, Lia went directly at the market while smiling and greeting the acquittances she had in the town.

Because of her warm personality, Lia had earned the goodwill of many people in the town, even more than Aiden. As many says, a smiling girl is more agreeable than a handsome youth.

Reaching to the market, she began to select the different groceries necessaries for the day from the different stalls while speaking with the sellers and merchants of the town. But in that moment, Lia felt a malicious gaze against her.

Pausing briefly, Lia continued with her duty while trying to ignore it.

From the day when she changed during the fight against the boars, Lia had become able of doing many things that before she was unable of.

Apart from a better control about her threats, an increment at her cultivation and a stronger physique she noticed recently; Lia had also become very sensitive of her surroundings, at the point where she is able of feeling the gazes in her surroundings.

Though at the beginning she was a bit dazed for the many feedbacks she received from this ability, with the passing of the days she became increasingly better in controlling it, so now she can easily feel the different feelings directed towards her from her surroundings.

So, when the pair of cultivators directed theirs gazes against her, she felt it immediately.

Though unable of detecting the origin of the gaze, Lia felt it from the beginning. But in a principle, she thought of ignoring it.

After all, it wasn’t the first time she felt such gazes. Whenever she is around other people, she normally felt many kinds of gazes, going from friendliness, envy, jealously, etc. So, though the gaze she felt this time was a bit more intense, she didn’t think very much about it.

But when the gaze remained with her even after leaving the market, she noticed that something was wrong.

And when she noticed the emotions behind the gazes becoming darker and darker with the passing of the seconds, she knew that whenever was following her was planning something bad.

Thinking about how bad was becoming the order in the town, Lia concentrated in feeling the people behind her while she continued walking.

Though it took her a bit the time, she was able of detecting the number and place from where she was being followed. Knowing that it was two peoples and that their cultivations were higher than hers, for a moment she was worried.

But then, an excited emotion appeared inside her.

It was as if something was telling her to fight. To attack the enemies and kill them without mercy.

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

She tried suppressing it, but with every step the feeling became even stronger.

And at the end, she was unable of suppressing it anymore.

Believing the instincts inside her telling that they were not her match, she began to spread her threads careful of not being noticed, moving them silently and slowly guiding her persecutors to the perfect place for her attack.

Her threads, as if they were alive, began to move dexterously and in a short time were in the perfect place to attack their enemies.

Feeling the excitement of battle growing even more inside her, Lia finally stopped.

Then, turning in direction where the two men were hiding, she spoke.

“I thought it was a coincidence when I was in the marketplace, but I can feel your disgusting gazes even now. Why you two don’t get out now!?”

Seeing the pair refusing to get out, Lia sighed part upset and part excited. Then, putting the bag with groceries in the ground, she extended her hands.

“Very well, if you will not get out, then allow me to help you!”

Immediately after, thousands of white threads launched against the pair a great speed.

Though the two enemies evaded immediately after feeling the attacks, the threads of Lia were not so simple. Like many small serpents, the threads moved through the air and followed the pair trying catch them.

“Tch!” The brawny man of the duo clicked his tongue and unsheathed the sword in his back. The skinny guy for his part, used many strange movements like a serpent to avoid the attacking threads.

Using his swords, the man tried to cut the threads coming for him, but unexpectedly, the sword was unable of cut them. The threads, for their part, began to wrap around the sword, making it difficult for the man recover it.

“Come!” Shouting with strength, the man was able of recover the sword, but due to the lost time, some threads wrapped around his leg.

Seeing it, Lia smiled thinly, not noticing the red color slowly dying her eyes. With even more excitement she ordered for the threads to continue attacking.

The brawny man slashed the threads in his leg, this time infusing energy inside the sword; but though some threads were cut, many more began to wrap around other parts of his body.

“Be careful!” Cried the skinny guy. “They are not normal threads! Probably it is some artifact or the web of some demonic beast! Do your best to no become entangled with them!”

“Yes!” Grunted Mul, the brawny of the pair, infusing a great amount of energy around his body and pulling with strength.

But unfortunately for him, the threads wrapped around his body were made of Snow Spider’s Silk. It, summed with the growing strength of Lia in the last few days and the ability of infusing energy in objects that her recently gained, made extremely hard for the brawny guy to escape his bindings.

Besides it, though she wasn’t completely conscient of it, the soul of the Nonir inside Lia was helping her to fight the enemies. To be sincere, from the moment when they were ambushed for Lia’s threads, the pair of cultivators were almost guaranteed to lose despite being almost an entire realm above her.

Seeing the worsening situation of his companion, the skinny guy, Sly, took two daggers from his sleeves and tried using them to cut the threads after infusing it with energy, but same as his companion, it was only able of cutting through a few of them.

Lia smiled even more seeing the two men struggling between the thousands of threads and moved her arms to sent even more against them. In seconds, Mul and Sly were almost drowned for the growing number of attacks.

Though the threads had not great killing power, they were very good tying enemies. Lia seemed to be able of use them perfectly to constrict them bit to bit until trapping them for good.

Seeing the worsening situation, Sly knew they could not wait anymore. Cutting some of the threads around them, he cried.

“Mul! We must use it! We are going to die otherwise!”

Hearing his companion, the brawny guy frowned hard before gritting his teeth and making a determined expression. Then, he channeled a great amount of energy in his sword.

Immediately, both Mul and Sly weapons began to glow with a metallic shine, then, moving downwards, they began to cut through the threats like paper.

Freeing themselves from the threats, the pair nodded at each other before using their coordination forged through the years to attack at the same time.

Accelerating with an exceptional speed, the pair was before Lia in the blink of an eye, but before they could cut her, something happened.

A powerful killing intent was emitted from Lia.

With her eyes even redder and a lovable smile in her face, she spoke.

“Hurry up, I don’t want to make my young master wait.”

And even more threads appeared in the surroundings.

In the courtyard of the house, with a saber in hand; Aiden was standing with the eyes closed intending feel something.

He had maintained such state from the moment when Lia left the house; and though he was unable of enter in the state of saber manifestation, he felt even closer to the saber in his hands.

But in that moment, a terrifying killing intent was felt from afar.

Feeling something familiar in the killing intent, Aiden made a frightened and worried expression at the same time.

“Lia!!!”
