The Covenant of Hellfire let loose monstrous roars as their deity was finally in front of them. They placed their right hands over their Devilish hearts and bowed to Jin.
Jin couldn’t contain his excitement at finally being at the doorstep of the Devil Emperor with his own army of Devils and Shadow’s Fallen army.
The time to strike down the Devil who plunged the world into chaos had finally arrived. The Devil plague felt like a nightmare without end since they first emerged. Humanity had lost hope that they would ever be rid of the Devils.
But now 2 Heroes had embarked on a journey to bring this dark time to an end. These Heroes had faced life and death to get to this point. Traveling throughout the realms to gain power thought impossible.
Jin hadn’t ascended yet and reached his full Celestial potential like Shadow, but in this moment he felt like a God as he looked at the thousands of Devils bowing down to him.
A mile down the road the Devil Emperors army was preparing for the assault on their iron castle. Their mindless rage and bloodlust could be felt for miles around. The magical energy had become so strong that if a normal civilian passed by, they would be crushed beneath the gravity of this power.
This battlefield was a place for only those that had endured hardship and achieved great strength through supernatural means.
“My great army, now is the time to take down the Emperor who has oppressed you for so long! The one who has used his powers to twist your spirits on his quest for power! Now I will crush him and usher in a new era!”
The Covenant army all rose and let out their War Cries, some pounded their chests, others flew to the sky, and some banged their blades of Hell Steel together.
Jin summoned his wings and flew to the sky then summoned his Atomic Blade and held it high.
“CHARGE!”
The Covenant army began stampeding to the fortress and the Devil Emperor’s army began charging out to meet them.
Shadow stood by with his Fallen and waited for there to be a gap between the Devils and their fortress. Every second he watched the Devils rush out to meet the Covenant felt like an eternity.
‘Now.’ Shadow telepathically gave the order to his forces, and they circled behind the Emperor’s army.
Jin flew above the armies and darted towards the fortress where only the Giants and Dragons remained behind.
Shadow concealed himself and began making his way to the Emperor’s tower.
The Dragons saw the puny human flying towards them and released a deep roar.
Jin sliced the air and sent out arcs of Atomic Celestial Lightening at the groups of Lava Giants that were barreling towards him.
His arcs continued expanding until they were as long as football fields, the giants prepared to block it and formed a shield wall. But it was pointless.
The Celestial arcs cut through their shields like paper and diced the group of over a dozen Giants into pieces. Their bodies lost their glow and their blood of lava spilled to the ground as the Devils were turned into nothing more than hunks of meat.
The arcs continued their path and exploded into the side of the castle, completely destroying the front wall.
The 8 Devil Dragons took to the sky and flew at Jin like bullets while letting out breaths of fire that were hotter than the deepest depths of the Devil Realm
Jin flew through the fire unharmed and tackled the first dragon, he grabbed hold of its neck with both his arms and dove to the ground. He slammed the Dragon headfirst and snapped its neck. A fiery soul flew from its corpse and into Jin.
The other 7 dragons circled the sky above Jin and rained down Hellfire.
Jin flew back into the sky and sliced the head off the closest dragon. He sent out an arc of Celestial energy, but it missed and hit the castle.
‘Watch out, you almost got me with that one!’ Shadow spoke into Jin’s mind.
Jin flew onto one of the backs of the Dragons and impaled it. “Maybe if you hurried up and got to the Emperor already, you wouldn’t have to worry about me blowing you up.” Jin taunted Shadow.
Jin flew to the next Dragon, but it latched onto him with its claws and tried to crush him.
Jin couldn’t swing his sword, so he formed a ball of atomic energy and let it blow.
The Dragon’s claw was disintegrated and Jin was blasted back to the ground. The wounded dragon crash landed beside him, Jin quickly got up and finished the Devil off with a quick slice to the head.
Only a few remained, he wished there were more though. With each Dragon Spirit he absorbed, Jin could feel his Celestial Power getting closer to its peak.
He looked at the remaining Dragons and smiled, he looked at the Dragon’s like meals that would feed his hunger for power.
Shadow ran up the tower where the Devil Emperor was waiting.
With each step he propelled himself up the tower at a 90-degree angle. It was as simple as walking down the street for Shadow.
He got to the top and 2 iron doors were barred shut.
Shadow could sense an overwhelming power on the other side, it was close to the amount of power he felt while standing before Grim. That’s when Shadow finally understood that it was possible for God’s to achieve the power level of higher beings, but something was telling him that this wasn’t the Calamity that Grim spoke of. The way Grim spoke, it sounded like Calamity hadn’t appeared in the universe yet.
Shadow kicked open the doors and sent them flying from the hinges.
A bright light came from the room, at first Shadow squinted. This was the same light he saw that day him and Jin were sent to different realms.
“Welcome.” The light said to him, it sounded like a man and woman were speaking in unison.
Shadow’s eyes adjusted and he finally saw the being known as the Devil Emperor.
A 9-foot tall being sat on a throne of white leather with gold metal lining its edges, the throne was drastically different from the rest of the room of dark iron.
The Devil Emperor was very androgynous with a body like a Ken doll, they wore no clothes and were completely hairless from head to toe. Their skin was a shimmering white and golden rays of light encircled its being. Its eyes had a blinding golden glow and so did its mouth. When it spoke, the light flashed from its mouth.
Shadow flung his dagger at the Devil Emperor. They blocked it with a flick of the finger. The Devil Emperor had a happy expression and carefree demeanor.

“Amusing, is this what passes for a God nowadays?”
Shadow summoned his scythes and charged the Devil Emperor.
“Let us wait for the one I’d like to speak with.” The Emperor stood and called down a giant golden hand that pinned Shadow to the ground.
Jin came flying into the room, he was panting and covered in the blood of the Dragons he killed. The sounds of the raging battle could be heard in the distance.
The Devil Emperor clapped and Shadow was struggling under the Giant ghost hand.
“The man I’ve been waiting to see.”
Jin looked at the situation with confusion. “Shadow, is this the Devil Emperor? He looks so not Devilish.”
The Emperor laughed.
“Yes, that’s him!” Shadow yelled.
Jin dashed at the Devil Emperor, but he summoned another giant hand and slammed Jin into a wall and pinned him there.
He approached Jin with a look of curiosity. “So you really have obtained his powers.”
Jin struggled, but it felt like he was completely stuck under the weight of the ghostly hand. “I don’t care what you’re talking about, just fight me.”
The Devil Emperor rolled his glowing eyes. “You even have the same temperature as him.”
“Who?” Jin shouted as he continued trying to break free.
“The God of Lightning, he was a dear friend of ours before the others turned on him. His crime? Loving creation too much.” The Heroes could sense some twisted sorrow in the Devil’s voice.
Jin remembered the story of the God of Lightning that Shadow told him about. “What does this have to do with him?!”
“Everything, those so-called Gods and the higher beings. They’re stuck in the old ways, refusing to evolve with their creations. The God of Lightning was different! He was stronger than all of them and they hated him for it, they were waiting for the opportunity to strike him down. We saw things differently; we treasured our dear God of Lightning! So when they took him from us, we turned the creations of the Gods against them!” The Devil Emperor’s demeanor started to shift to a more sinister one.
Shadow used his new ability and shifted from the physical plane and into the spiritual one and snuck behind the Emperor as he was distracted talking to Jin.
“You, you will help us get revenge. Won’t you help us?” The Devil Emperor asked Jin.
Shadow slammed his Void scythe into the Devil Emperor’s side.
“You?!” The Devil Emperor shouted and punched Shadow across the room. He summoned 2 more Celestial arms from his body and used them to pull out the Scythe. A gold ray of light came from the wound.
When the Devil Emperor lost focus, his power holding Jin faltered and he broke free.
Jin punched the Devil Emperor in the head and he fell to his knees. Then Jin kneed him in the face.
Jin formed his Atomic sword to slash the Devil Emperor, but the Devil Emperor’s Celestial arms grabbed Jin’s legs and threw him into the wall beside Shadow.
“You were supposed to help us!” The Devil Emperor was now furious.
Shadow and Jin jumped up as the Devil Emperor called more Celestial hands from the ceiling and they slammed all around the Heroes as they dodged them.
Jin teleported behind the Emperor and Shadow charged the front of him. But the Devil Emperor used his 4 arms to defend against both attackers.
He grabbed them tight and emitted a strong blast of Celestial Power and blew the tower up, sending Jin and Shadow flying out in a plume of smoke.
As they fell, Jin summoned his wings and looked for Shadow. He caught sight of him then flew to catch him.
He carried Shadow by his robe in one hand and held his sword from the other.
The Devil Emperor floated from the flaming tower while standing in the palms of 2 Giant Celestial Spirit hands. He summoned a massive array of golden energy balls in the sky above his location. The Devil Emperor then sent them towards the Heroea.
Jin blocked a couple with his Atomic Blade, then he swung and threw Shadow at the Devil Emperor.
Shadow resummoned his other Void scythe as he bullets towards the Devil Emperor.
The Devil Emperor held out his hand and formed a golden bubble of protection, but Shadow used his ability to phase right through it and he sliced off the Devil Emperor’s arm.
The Devil Emperor shouted in pain then grabbed Shadow and flung him crashing into the ground below.
All the balls of Celestial Energy exploded into Jin.
“You’re all weak, witness the power of Real Gods!” The Devil Emperor started amassing a giant ball of pure Celestial Power in the sky.
Jin came flying from the smoke of the explosions he was pelted with, his body was scorched and cut up. He crashed through the shield of the Devil Emperor and plunged his Atomic Sword into the center of his chest.
“Pathetic.” The Devil Emperor was unfazed by the attack, he stuck his hand onto Jin’s face and let loose an explosion that sent Jin crashing into the ground below like Shadow.
Shadow ran over to where Jin was laying and grabbed his shoulder. Jin tried to fly back up to fight the Emperor, but Shadow held him there. “Wait!” Shadow pointed to the massive ball of Celestial Power in the sky that looked like a second son.
“Now perish.” The Devil swung his arm down and sent the massive energy ball into the ground where Jin and Shadow were standing.
The world lit up like a nuclear blast had gone off. The Devil Emperor pulled Jin’s sword from his chest and regenerated his wounds in an instant. “Such disappointments.”
The Devil Emperor turned his attention to the battlefield where he saw his army was starting to lose. “Speaking of disappointments.”
“What, did you look in the mirror?!” Jin shouted as he flew up and holding his own massive ball of Celestial Atomic Energy.
The Devil Emperor’s shock was written across his face. “How?!”
“Shadow, Now!” Jin yelled and Shadow focused all his Celestial Void energy into a beam and fused it with Jin’s Atomic Energy Ball.
This changed the orb of power into an All-Powerful Black Hole, its center was pure Void and it was outlined with light as it warped the space around it.
The Devil Emperor gritted his teeth as he poured all of his energy into a barrier to block this attack.
Jin launched the Celestial charged Black hole into the Emperor’s barrier and the whole world shook as the 2 forces conflicted with each other.
Reality itself quivered as an unstoppable force met an immovable object.
Even the Gods in the Celestial Realm poked their heads up as they felt this clash, even Grim tilted his head upwards as he looked towards the moment in reality where this battle was taking place, and the attention of another Higher Being gazed down upon this fight and smiled with joy.
Both armies briefly stopped fighting as they became blinded by the light from the 2 forces colliding.
Then the unthinkable happened, the Devil Emperor wavered in his convictions at the sight of the power that these Heroes had gained. A power to rival that of 2 Gods that had merged and amplified their powers.
In that moment, this unbreakable barrier cracked then a second later it shattered to pieces.
The Devil Emperor raised his arms in a vain attempt to block the attack, but it was hopeless.
The Black Hole was expanding rapidly and destroying the Devil Emperor and his Grand Domain. Jin flew to the ground and grabbed Shadow as fast as he could then flew as far away as he could from the explosion.
The black hole expanded and absorbed the entirety of the Devil Emperor’s Domain. Then it collapsed in on itself and exploded, sending shockwave all throughout the continent.
Then there was nothing but silence as every being there looked at the massive crater where the Domain of the Devil Emperor once was.
Jin and Shadow were hunched over, gasping for air and drenched with sweat. That attack was the culmination of every bit of energy they had, feeling drained was an understatement.
The Devil Emperor’s army looked at their opponents, they were outnumbered, and their leader was dead. They laid down their arms and Horn let out a hardy laugh then shouted, “Welcome to the Covenant.”
Jin looked at Shadow and smiled. “We did it.”
Shadow lowered his mask and then stood as tall as he could. “Barely.”
The 2 heroes felt a massive weight off their shoulders.
Then a beam of light shot out from the crater.
Jin and Shadow felt their stomachs turn.
“You’re kidding.” Jin said as he tried to summon a weapon of any kind, but he didn’t have the energy left to form one. He balled up his fists. “I guess this is it.”
Shadow narrowed his eyes at the beam of light. Then felt a wave of relief. “Maybe not.”
From the beam of light, one of the Devil Emperor’s golden hands carried him out as he laid in its palm. It then landed him at the feet of the heroes and disappeared.
The Devil Emperor’s glow was gone, and half his body was burnt to a crisp. “I wanted to lay eyes on you one more time.” The Devil Emperor’s voice was now harsh and raspy.
“I’d say Rot in Hell, but we both know you’re the King there. So enjoy the Void.” Jin’s words were filled with contempt for the failed Gods who caused so much pain in the world.
“Yes, I pray for your success though….Calamity.” These were the last words uttered by the Devil Emperor as he looked up at Jin.
Jin looked at Shadow. “You look paler than usual, relax. It’s over.” He placed his hand on Shadow’s shoulder and gave him a thumbs up like Shadow always did to him.
Shadow felt anything but relaxed at hearing the Devil Emperor calling Jin that, but he still didn’t know what to believe so he thought it best to put these dark thoughts from his mind. This was a major step towards victory, they freed the world from the Devil threat and now it was time for them to strike down the other monsters who wanted to conquer the world. The Incarnates.
