Jin clenched his jaw and gripped his blades as hard as he could to stop the Orc King’s sword from coming any closer. Jin was putting his full strength into his weapons and the Orc King was holding him off with only one arm.
Shadow tried to come to the rescue, but the Orc King blocked him with golden shield, Shadow’s scythes bounced right off the shield and blew him 100 yards through the air into the surrounding orc army. Shadow quickly got to his feet and summoned his Fallen army; the fight was starting to take a turn for the worse. They had underestimated their enemy and overestimated themselves, a fatal mistake.
Shadow activated the domain of Void and his Fallen rose from the darkness. They were outnumbered and needed to finish off these Orc Devils to give the Orc King their full attention. Shadow began to raise the more Fallen from the dead orcs while his current Fallen began slaughtering the others. The Fallen Giants had struck fear into the orcs as they struck them down with unimaginable might, killing them by the dozens in a single swift blow.
Jin looked for a nearby space and teleported away from the Orc King, the Orc King’s blade sliced into the ground where Jin was a moment ago and unleashed a devastating explosion. The explosion sent Jin flying and even caught killed nearby Orcs and Fallen.
Jin recovered and flew into the sky, trying to see through the smoke and find the Orc King.
The Orc King jumped through the air and into the sky.
“What the Hell?!” Jin shouted as he came face to face with the Orcs devilish face hundreds of feet up in the air.
The Orc King slammed his shield into Jin and fell back to the earth while Jin was trapped underneath it.
Jin tried to break free before hitting the ground, but it felt like the shield was holding onto him with a spiritual force.
Shadow heard the crash and looked over in its direction, it sounded like a meteor had crashed into the Earth and the following shockwave brought the weaker soldiers to their knees.
Then Shadow felt a strong Celestial Energy throughout the air and his hair stood on end.
A massive bolt of lightning crashed into the crater where the Orc King and Jin landed, then there was a large scream of pain from the Orc King.
Shadow couldn’t see through the smoke or groups of enemies; he called over one of the Giants and commanded the Giant to throw him towards the crater.
The Giant threw Shadow to the crater, as Shadow flew through the air he looked like a bird of prey. His lack Void cloak spread around him like wings and his scythes in each hand like talons.
Shadow saw the Orc King and Jin fighting down below. Blood covered Jin’s body, a mix of his own and that of the enemies he’d killed. The Orc King had a massive, charred wound on its back from where he had been struck by the massive bolt of lightning that Jin called.
The Orc King’s movements had started to slow due to his wound and Jin was able to avoid the strike of his sword. But the Orc King was still able to defend against Jin’s attacks with his shield. They had reached an impasse that Shadow was about to break.
Shadow came from the Orc King’s blind spot and slashed his scythes into the Orc King’s shoulders. But the Orc King’s body was so thick with muscle and durable that Shadow’s blades were unable to create more than a fairly shallow wound.
The Orc King slammed his shield into Jin and he flew into the wall of the crater, he then turned his attention towards Shadow and unleashed a strike from his sword.
Shadow could sense that this blow would be the end of him, so he summoned a Fallen to take the brunt of the attack. The Fallen disintegrated and Shadow was crushed into the ground, taking only a portion of the damage, but it’s blast had knocked him unconscious.
Jin pried himself from the wall of the crater and saw the Orc King was preparing another strike while Shadow laid on the ground defenseless, his Fallen army too busy handling the remaining orcs to see their master in trouble.
That last strike of lightning drained him of a lot of his Celestial energy, any attack now would have to be based on his physical strength.

Jin teleported behind the Orc King and wrapped his arms around the Devil’s neck. The Orc King returned his focus to Jin and left Shadow alone.
The Orc King dropped his weapons and tried to pry Jin from his back, Jin resisted the Orc King’s attacks and squeezed as hard as he could. He clawed into the Orck King’s throat with his draconic arm and ripped across it.
A gurgling scream came from the Orc King as he fell to the ground and blood pooled around him.
The sounds of War still echoed throughout the Plaines. Only several hundred Devil Orcs remained, the rest lay dead or turned to Fallen. The Fallen army now numbered over a thousand. The remaining Orcs were strong and had regrouped, forming a massive circle to holdout against the growing number of Fallen.
Bloody and dismembered Orcs layered the ground as far as the eye could see. Weapons lay scattered throughout the war-torn countryside, the ground stained red from the oceans of spilt blood. The smell of the area had turned from a fresh nature smell and into a stench of blood and Orc guts.
Jin was cut, bruised, and bloody with not enough power to heal himself right now so he’d have to wait for his regeneration to take care of it. He walked up to where Shadow was laying.
Shadow looked more or less unscathed, his armor of pure Void energy incapable of being scathed and he only had char and dirt across what little of his face showed under his mask and hood.
Jin kicked him. “Oi! You better get up.” His face was annoyed, but inside he was happy and relieved that his friend was okay.
Shadow’s eyes opened and he hopped to his feet with his weapons out.
“What the Hell dude?! Have you just been sleeping this whole time!” Jin shouted.
Shadow sent his weapons back to the Void and got an embarrassed look. ‘No! It was that last blow that knocked me out!’
“Bullshit, you look totally fine!”
Shadow brushed off his shoulders. ‘It’s not my fault that I have a more refined fighting technique and better regeneration ability.’
Jin pointed at the dead Orc King while still looking at Shadow. “Then how come I’m the one who killed the boss?!”
Shadow got a concerned look. ‘Uhhh turn around.’
Jin turned around and saw a large red spirit heading full force in his direction, it hit Jin’s chest and knocked him to the ground as he absorbed it.
‘Jin!’ Shadowed helped Jin back to his feet.
“Even in death that guy is a bastard.” Jin took out his notebook and opened it to see the new entry.
Spirit of the Devil Orc Emperor
The spirit of the Frightening Emperor of Orcs. After being conquered by the Devil Emperor, his spirit was modified and infused with Celestial Energy before being reborn into an even more powerful being. Grants Increased Celestial Energy.
Current Celestial Energy: 43%
“Sweet! My energy is almost as high as yours now Shadow.”
Shadow gave Jin a fist bump.
“So, it seems like there are other kinds of Emperors and just not the Devil Emperor. These guys are way stronger than Devil Kings, we better be prepared for more. I read in the journal about a Dragon Emperor, and I can’t imagine how strong that guy is.” Jin shuddered at the idea of a dragon that could be even bigger than the Hydra and stronger than the Orc Emperor.
Shadow grabbed Jin’s shoulder and pointed him towards the Orc Emperor’s body.
The body had started to turn to black ash along with its weapons and was blown away by the wind until nothing remained.
Jin groaned. “Damn, I would’ve loved to have that sword. I wonder why he disintegrated though, I guess throw that onto the list of questions we don’t have answers to.”
A steel spear flew into the crater towards Jin, he instantly sensed it and caught it with his hand.
The Orc who threw the spear realizes he just made his last mistake as Jin returned the spear by throwing it full force and blew a hole through the Orcs’ chest.
“We should probably finish this up, I’m tired.” Jin yawned and Shadow had already turned invisible and left.
“I’m so glad that the God of the Void gave you the ability of telekinesis all so you couldn’t use it.” Jin muttered and flew out of the crater.
‘I heard that.’ Shadow’s voice echoed in Jin’s mind.
“Well tell me if you hear this!” Jin dove like a catapult into the ground and sent a group of Orcs sailing through the air.
‘Sorry I was too busy killing more than you, what did you want me to hear?’ Shadow stepped down from a pile of dead Orcs while holding a hand to his ear.
Jin narrowed his eyes at Shadow with a look of annoyance. “Funny, remind me who killed the Orc Emperor?”
‘Only after I saved your ass.’ Shadow teased.
“Pfft and then I saved yours!”
Orcs charged the 2 while they argued. Jin and Shadow decided they’d continue this after the battle.
They chopped down the remaining Orcs with the help of the Fallen.
Shadow summoned his domain also Jin could get some rest while he raised more Fallen from the battlefield.
By nightfall he had finally finished and returned to the shelter he’d created, their Fallen army was now reinforced by several thousand Orcs and their War Beasts.
Jin was still asleep; his body was completely drained from overusing his Celestial Energy and now Shadow was the same. Raising that many Fallen took a heavy toll and he was ready to pass out.
