Chapter 19: The Devil Emperor of Elves

Chapter 19: The Devil Emperor of Elves

Jin woke up to the smell of fire, he rubbed his eyes because at first, he thought he was still dreaming. Horn was boiling instant Ramen in a pot over the fire.

“Um what are you doing?” Jin asked, visibly confused.

Horn bowed. “I thought you would be hungry, Master. So, I sent my minions into town to retrieve a few items. They returned with cooking tools and a box of instant ramen.” Horn poured the noodles into a bowl for Jin, then had to small red imps bring a table and a chair over for him. The imps bowed and then scurried behind Horn.

Jin sat down and ate. “This is great, thanks Horn!”

Horn looked proud and the 2 small imps hopped around behind him, visibly excited to be praised. “It is the least I can do for such a benevolent Master. You are much kinder to us than the Devil Emperor ever was, he would obliterate a Devil with the snap of his fingers whenever he got bored. Despite creating us, he seems to loathe all life including us.”

Jin continued slurping down noodles. “Yeah, he does seem the type, so Horn I have a question.”

“I will answer as best as I can.”

“You were the King of Fiends, is that why you can summon these little guys?”

Horn nodded. “Yes, these small Devils are all I can manage now. I used to be able to summon higher level Devils, but I suffered a major defeat while battling in the Dragon Realm and the Devil Emperor stripped me of most of my power as a punishment. He said I would earn it back if I brought him your head.”

“Damn that sucks, is there a way for me to restore your power? You’d be more useful in our fight against the Devil Emperor.” Jin wasn’t concerned about Horn getting stronger because he still wouldn’t be able to defeat him.

Horn looked sad and shook his head. “Sadly no, I would need the return of my magic that was sealed away in an amulet created and given to another Devil with the Emperor’s main force here on Earth.”

“Damn, guess we’ll have to wait then. Oh well, it can’t be helped.”

Jin finished eating then stood up and stretched. “So Horn, how strong are you physically when it comes to fighting?”

Horn felt a little nervous at having to spar with Jin. “If I were to compare myself to the Orc Emperor, not even half as strong. But I’m well above most Devil Kings.”

Jin walked away from the camp and Horn followed. “That’s good, in that case I won’t be using my magic or weapons, but you’re free to use whatever. If I land a blow and you’re unable to fight, then we’ll take a break and ill heal you.” Jin got into a fighting stance with one arm raised.

“Understood, Master.” Horn then let out a roar and readied to fight.

Jin dashed forward and Horn flew into the sky while hurling fireballs.

Jin avoided the attacks then jumped into the air, grabbed Horn’s leg, and threw him back towards the ground.

Horn managed to land on his feet and Jin landed beside him.

The 2 began engaging in hand-to-hand conflict.

Their movements were already above what any normal person could perceive, Jin held back his punches and tried to avoid dealing any serious damage during this spar.

Horn was managing to block some of Jin’s attacks, but Jin kept increasing the speed of his punches.

Horn threw a punch and Jin slid under then landed a nasty blow in the center of Horn’s chest knocking him back a few feet.

He coughed and Jin took a moment to catch his breath. “You good or did I do any damage?”

Horn straightened up and put his fists back up. “I just needed a momentary breather, Master. I’m ready to go again.”

The 2 spent the rest of the day sparring, occasionally stopping so that Jin could eat, and Horn could receive updates from his minions about the Elf Emperors movements.

“Master, it appears the Elven Emperor will be arriving a lot sooner than expected.” Horn was visibly shaken.

Jim stopped eating his Ramen and looked up at Horn. “How much sooner?”

“He will arrive within a few hours.”

Jin took a deep breath and closed his eyes. “How is he getting here so fast?”

“The Devil Emperor dispatched only the Devil Elf Emperor and 3 Devil Kings to deal with you, each is riding a wyvern and moving at an incredible pace.”

“Wait, the rest of the army is staying back?” Jin was shocked.

“It appears that the Devil Emperor is aware that your army was provided by Master Shadow, so in thinking that he has been defeated, he only seeks to overwhelm you with sheer force and not waste weaker forces being killed off by you.” Horn still seemed worried, but this sounded like good news to Jin.

“Isn’t this good, why do you look so upset?” Jin asked.

“I worry that you may struggle a great deal in this fight, even with Master Shadow’s assistance.”

“Why, is the Devil Elf Emperor really that strong?”

“Yes, if I were to compare his strength to that of the Orc Emperor, he is twice as deadly. With the backing of his Devil King’s, he is second only to the Devil Emperor.”

“Well shit, who are these Devil Kings with him?”

“They are the Trio of Devastation; they are high ranking subordinates that take orders directly from the Devil Emperor. Together their power is equal to that of the Orc Emperor.” Horn continued providing information to Jin.

“That really doesn’t sound good, what are their powers?”

Horn bowed his head. “I apologize Master, but that information is unknown to even me. All who have seen their abilities have perished.”

Jin finished eating, while thinking about what he should do next. “Horn, how many minions do you have under your command?”

“I have 96 Flaming Imps and 2 Fire Golems.”

“Is there a way for you to obtain more minions and strength?”

“That would require me to return to the Devil Realm, from there I can subjugate a larger force with my power. Devils respect strength, so as long as I show power, I can overtake smaller groups of Devils. But with my current strength there are not many I can defeat.”

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

Jin summoned a Sword of Celestial Hellfire and cast the Blessing from the Goddess of Creation; this turned the Hellfire into a Celestial artifact of tremendous strength. He handed the sword to Horn. “Here use this, I’m going to send you back to the Devil Realm for now and I’ll retrieve you after this fight. In the meantime, I want you to raise an army in my name.”

Horn took the sword and held it with great pride. “I shall do as you command.”

Jin summoned a portal to the Devil Realm and sent Horn through, Jin thought that the aid of a Celestial weapon would help him rally stronger Devils more easily. If all went well then Jin hoped that he could start a rebellion within the Devils against the Devil Emperor.

After sending Horn to the Devil Realm, Jin prepared to retrieve Shadow. He focused on Shadow’s energy and was preparing to open a portal, but as the rift began to open, it was forcibly closed.

“What the hell?” Jin was stunned.

“We can’t have you doing that.” A calm but intimidating voice spoke to him.

Jin looked at the source of the voice and he felt his heart skip a beat.

It was the Devil Elf Emperor; he wore large golden plate armor with glowing red inscriptions carved throughout it. His face was covered by his golden helmet with an expressionless Elf carved into it. A large velvety mane hung from the Emperor’s Helmet and a velvet cape from his back. His sword was gargantuan in size and was nearly the same length and width as his whole body. The Emperor sat atop the flaming crimson scaled eyeless wyvern he had been riding on, then dropped to the ground close to where Jin was standing.

3 more wyverns arrived, each looked similar to the one the Devil Elf Emperor had been riding. Although the riders were a stark difference to the Emperor, instead of wearing faddish armor, they each wore dark black robes that were seeping with smoky energy. Their faces were completely shrouded in darkness and only their glowing red eyes could be seen. All 3 were identical except for their weapons, one was wielding a staff of pure flame, the 2nd held a staff of pure lightning, and the 3rd held a staff of pure Void.

The 3 Kings stayed on their wyverns and circled the 2 on the ground. Jin could sense that all of these beings had been infused with Celestial Energy and so had their weapons.

Jin tried to teleport away from the situation to retrieve Shadow, but still nothing happened.

The Elf Emperor laughed maniacally. “You disgusting mortal, we were warned of your powers beforehand and prepared countermeasures to ensure you would be less problematic.” He then drew the massive sword from his back. It looked to be made of bone, had orange gems implanted along the blade, and glowing engravings wrapped around the weapon.

“Tremble in fear as you have the privilege of being cut down by the Great Emperor of the Elves with the Fang of the Dragon Emperor.” The words of the Elf Emperor were filled with an intolerable amount of self-praise.

Jin watched the Devil Kings hovering, trying to figure out what their strategy was. For now, he couldn’t summon Shadow, so he had to be prepared to take them all on, on his own.

He summoned a sword of Hellfire, but it was sucked into the sky to the Devil King with the flame staff.

The Emperor laughed. “You are quite slow, as expected of a lower being such as you.”

The Emperor was enjoying watching Jin struggle to try and understand the situation, so he held off on attacking for now.

Jin tried to summon a blade of lightning, but it was sucked into the staff of the Lightning Devil King.

‘Damn, so I was right. That’s why those guys are staying out of the fight, as long as they stay at a safe distance, I can’t use most of my powers. But I’m still left with my healing and Frost Magic, I’ll just have to make do with those.’ Jin summoned wings of Frost; he was going to avoid the Elf Emperor until he took out the Devil Kings.

The Elf Emperor’s sword began to glow, and Jin’s wings were dispelled. The Emperor stopped laughing. “You still haven’t learned, there is nothing you can do here. I am no longer amused.” He lunged towards Jin with lightning speed.

Jin reinforced his draconic arm with Celestial Power and blocked the hit, it still cut deep. But he healed it within an instant.

The Elf Emperor leaped backwards. “Slightly impressive for a lesser being, it still won’t be enough.” He motioned towards the Devil Kings.

They responded by casting a variety of spells at Jin, he was hit by a beam of magic from each of the Kings.

As the magic struck Jin he was knocked to the ground, the crackling of the Lightning rang out and the Fire created a cloud of smoke around Jin as the Void beam engulfed his body.

“How does it feel to be struck with Celestial Artifacts from the Devil Emperor’s personal Arsenal.” The Elf Emperor’s smug demeanor continued to get worse as he became more confident in his victory.

Jin shouted as the energy beams had paralyzed his movements, slowly the energy beams slowed and became smaller. The Elven Emperor’s laugh faded along with the beams. He looked to the Devil Kings “For what reason did you stop, I was enjoying the show!”

The Devil Kings all exchanged confused looks; their weapons had disappeared.

That’s when the Devils all felt an uneasy feeling, like they were prey being watched by a predator. They looked towards the smoke where Jin was still laying, unable to move.

The Devil Elf Emperor walked towards Jin’s body. “Oh well, the loss of the weapons is a small price to pay in exchange for the life of this mortal.” He took out his colossal sword and prepared to Decapitate Jin, he had promised to bring the Devil Emperor his head. He swung the blade at full speed, but Jin disappeared.

He turned around and managed to catch the last second before Jin decapitated the last Devil King sitting on top of a wyvern. Then Jin disappeared and the Elf Emperor looked in horror and confusion at the headless bodies of the Devil Kings that were still riding the panicked wyverns.

“Now who’s weak.” Jin growled from behind the Emperor, Jin’s body had become imbued after absorbing the Celestial Powers from the Devil Kings, and his veins were glowing golden color from his neck down. His hair had turned completely white, and his eyes had shifted from a glowing blue to pupils of pure red and the whites of his eyes turned a glossy black. His obsidian scales arm had turned pearly white with a reddish glow beneath the scales. Jin’s face was contorted in rage.

The Elf Emperor slashed his sword in Jin’s direction, but Jin teleported above the Elf Emperor and slammed both fists into his helmet. The Elf Emperor’s golden helmet cracked in half as his head impacted the ground, Jin’s claw clutched onto the back of the Emperor’s head and continued viciously slamming his head into the ground.

Jin then berated the Elf Emperor with a storm of punches and tearing away his golden armor then flinging the broken pieces to the side.

“Enough!” The Elf Emperor commanded and then a large explosion erupted from. The Emperor and sent Jin flying.

Jin had become completely lost in the sense of power and rage that was overwhelming his mind. His normal arm had disintegrated in the explosion created by the Elven Emperor.

The Elven Emperor then charged Jin with his sword drawn and swung the massive blade with such precision that Jin was unable to avoid the attacks completely and was still receiving shallow cuts. Jin punched then stomped the sword into the ground and punched the Emperor in the jaw, sending him through the air and rolling through the field where they’d been fighting.

The Devil Elf Emperor stood in half broken armor with golden blood seeping from his wounds. He looked as enraged as Jin, both with glowing red eyes that were locked on the other. “A lesser being dares to make me bleed?!”

Jin let out a loud roar that was reminiscent of a dragon and the earth rumbled around them, the wyverns became overcome with fear and flew off trying to get as far away as they could. Jin then regenerated his lost arm.

"An amusing trick.” The Elven Emperor summoned a palm sized glowing white orb of energy in each hand and sent one flying towards Jin.

Jin avoided the ball and flew into the sky as the Emperor launched another ball of energy.

As the magic of the Elven Emperor impacted the world it slowly radiated outward and disintegrated everything it touched.

“The unmatched magic usable to only myself, one the most destructive abilities in all the realms, Atomization!” The Elf Emperor’s sadistic smile further infuriated Jin, he continued lobbing the balls of energy at Jin.

Each ball of energy turned into an atomic bomb upon making contact with something and then it radiated outward for 200 yards in every direction.

Jin was avoiding it by staying above the height of the explosion. His anger got the better of him and he gave up waiting for an opening and charged the Emperor.

“Fool!” The Devil Emperor shouted as he prepared a ball of energy to stab into Jin and send him to oblivion.

Jin punched through the Elven Emperors Exposed chest and was holding his golden heart as his hand emerged from the other side of the Emperor’s chest.

The Devil Elf Emperor coughed up golden blood, then raised the last ball of atomic energy he created and pressed it into Jin’s side.

A hole was torn in Jin’s side before he managed to summon his wings and fly away.

The Elven Emperor’s final atomic blast kept growing past the size of the others, it was a blinding white light that was consuming everything it touched.

Jin was trying to outpace the blast, but he was hemorrhaging heavily from his side where he’d been struck. He was trying to teleport anywhere, but his body felt drained of energy, and he could barely maintain his summoned wings.

His hair turned back to a matte black and his eyes back to grey, he no longer had the bluish glow throughout his body either.

Everything started to get dark, and Jin’s wings faded. He fell from the sky and landed and the last bit of the Elven Emperor’s final blast. His back became scorched, and the explosion shot him forward tumbling throughout the landscape bouncing off the ground until finally impacting a large boulder and cracking open his head.
