Shadow bounced from the shoulders of Giants while stabbing them with his poisonous blade, then the weakened Giants were easily killed by the Fallen Giants.
It had been 12 hours since arriving in the Realm, Shadow was in one of their camps and killing them without mercy. His Fallen Giants now numbered over 20. At first, he snuck into their tents and slashed a few of their throats, but now he was able to take them head on.
The battle was drawing out as the Giants had a couple mages that disabled Shadow’s invisibility and they were able to defend against him. The Giants were slowly overwhelmed as he turned the dead into his minions. He now had control of over half of the Giants camp.
The Giants were smart and kept the mages in the back while the warriors formed a line to defend them. The mages kept casting buffs, so Shadow was forced to recall a Giant before it was defeated. He learned that his Fallen Giants can be killed 3 times before they faded from existence.
He was a battle of push and pull, whenever the Giant warriors became enraged by the mages, he was forced to recall his Fallen and hide in the shadows until the buff faded.
Only 17 Giants remained, 14 warriors and 3 mages.
Shadow watched as the buff began to fade from the Giants, so he summoned his Giants back and rejoined the fight. He was able to jump from the side of a tent and slash the throat of one Giant.
He tried to jump to another Giant, but the Giant raised his shield and blocked Shadow’s advance. Shadow landed on the ground and avoided the stomping of the Giants as they fought. The ground was filled with clouds of dust and the sounds of weapons clashing were deafening among the war cries of the Giants and the chanting of the mages.
He managed to slip past the front lines to the Giant mages. He activated his Draconic speed and launched himself up the side of one of the Giant mages. The Giant Mage panicked and screamed as Shadow sliced through his head with the daggers of Void.
The other Giant mages summoned fireballs and shot them towards Shadow, but he avoided them, and the fireballs ignited the dying Giant Mage as he fell to the ground.
Shadow’s Void robe fluttered behind him as he flew through the air and pierced through the head of the next closest Giant Mage, he was like a bullet as he popped through the head of the Giant covered in blood, he maintained his momentum and flew towards the head of the last Giant Mage.
But the Giant managed to catch Shadow midair. He clutched his fist to crush the Hero, but Shadow sliced through, and the fingers of the Giant were cut from his hand. The Giant yelled in agony and Shadow jumped up the body of the Giant then sliced completely through his neck, decapitating the Giant.
Shadow landed on the ground and caught his breath as he watched his Fallen kill the Giants.
As the last Giant Mage was killed, the Giant warriors were slaughtered by the Fallen Giants. Without the support of the mages the Giants were defeated by the Fallen.
Shadow then ran through the bloodied ground and resurrected the Giant into Fallen. He had successfully taken the camp. Now over 40 Giants were under his control.
‘No wonder the Devil Emperor failed. Killing this many was almost more than I could manage, I can’t imagine fighting hundreds or thousands of them.’
Shadow recalled most of his Fallen Giants and left the rest to stand guard, he then went to one of the beds of the Giants and rested the rest of the day.
The next day he summoned his army of Fallen and had them engage in a Mach battle to gage their combat ability. His army was split evenly in combat ability and numbers.
He observed the battle from the branch of a nearby tree.
He learned that the Giant Mages he had summoned are able to buff the entirety of his army and not just the Giants.

His Orcs were far superior to the Hydro Devils he had; the Hydro Devils were by far the weakest of his forces. The few Elves he had were above all the other forces, only the Giants were superior to them.
After observing enough, he recalled his forces to the Void and had some of the Giants bring him rations that they had stored in life.
As he sat there and ate, he heard the voice of the God within him. “Hero, why do you continue to eat and sleep? My presence should negate the need for it.”
‘I don’t know, it just makes me feel normal. Why does it bother you.’
“No, I was simply intrigued. But I have also awoken because I would like to inform you that after conquering these Giants, my power increased so your Fallen will now be unkillable unless they are struck with Celestial weapons or another Celestial Power.”
‘Really? That’s incredible, Jin will love that.’
“That brings me to another matter, after observing his powers I grow concerned.”
‘Why?’
“With his ability to absorb the Spirits of the fallen he will continue to grow at an extraordinary pace, if he gains the Celestial Energy from defeating the Devil Emperor, I worry that he will begin to lose reason and that energy will corrupt him.”
‘It shouldn’t and it hasn’t so far, I’ve known him for a long time now and he still seems the same.’
“Maybe on the outside, but within him I can sense a great many changes. Just be wary my Champion.”
‘Do you think he’ll become stronger than the Gods even in their Celestial forms?”
“Perhaps, but I cannot be certain. A growing power like his is something we have only seen once in a God a long time ago.”
‘Was it the one slain by the God of War, the God of Storms or whatever?’
“Correct, the God of Storms had many names. He was known for a time as the strongest of the God’s, that was until he fell in love with one of his blessed Draconian women. The God of Lightning then rebirthed himself to be with her.”
‘What does that mean, a God has other ways to become a living being other than Incarnation?’
“Yes, although it requires sacrificing a great deal of Celestial Power to do so. They may become reborn into the world of their choosing and live among other beings. The God of Storms was still mightier than most Gods after this sacrifice.”
‘Damn, he must’ve been incredible. So why did the God of War kill him?’
“The God of Storms did a taboo and broke a commandment of the Gods like the Devil Emperor has, he attempted to have a family with the blessed he love. Had this blessed given birth to a Celestial being, then it would be an abomination of great power that would be able to strike down the Gods. That led to the God of War and Beasts to Incarnate into the realm which the God of Storms resided and strike him down along with the abominations. Even those 2 had a challenging time striking down the God in his rebirthed form.”
‘That’s pretty dark.’
“I agree, it was a sad time for the Gods, but it was necessary. Only objected by the old God of Magic and Goddess of Creation who had strong bonds with the God of Storms.”
‘Wait, is that why they- ‘
Shadow was interrupted when he sensed one of his Fallen Giants being struck down. He ran from the tent and saw a large group of Giants gathered.
Shadow recalled the other Fallen back to the Void and turned invisible. The Giants had surrounded the camp, he could see close to 50 but there were even more hidden in the trees.
One of the Giants stepped out from the group and let out a roar. He was clad in steel armor and a long brown pelt hung from his back, he had a long white beard and long silver hair. On his face was a black painted handprint, the Giant’s was missing one eye and had a long scar over it. To his side were 2 engraved steel axes. He was a leader of this group of Giants
Shadow realized the severity of the situation; night would soon come. He just needed to hide out until then and wait for Jin to take him back to their own realm.
A Mage stepped out from the group behind the Giant leader and cast a spell, a different rune appeared above the Giant, one that Shadow had yet to see.
“Come out and face me, small man!” The Giant shouted.
Shadow was startled at being able to understand the Giant’s words.
“My spell caster has made it so we may communicate, step out from the shadows, and face me. I seek to talk, have no fear, small man.”
Shadow heard the words of the Giant, but his face betrayed him. The Giant had a sinister look on his face and Shadow could sense a strong bloodlust from the Giants.
Shadow began to sneak away, slipping between the feet of a nearby Giant.
“Fine, we shall force you to reveal yourself!”
2 mages cast a spell and deactivated Shadow’s invisibility and a beacon of light was over his location.
‘Shit!’
The startled Giant he was under kicked him into the center of the village.
Shadow rolled to the feet of the Giant leader, then got to his feet and took out his daggers.
The Giant leader knelt to look at Shadow, the Giant had an amused smile. “There you are.”
