Shadow turned invisible and Jin teleported to the top of a nearby frozen tree.
The second he appeared so did Shadow. Shadow slashed at Jin who barely dodged the attack in time.
‘His speed is incredible!’ Jin thought as he summoned his wings then took to the sky and shot down a wave of frost, but Shadow had already vanished again.
Jin landed and listened for Shadow, but it was silent. Shadows Void imbued armor was able to mask any sounds that he made.
A dagger came flying towards Jin, he blocked it and Shadow appeared within range while ducking and lunging his dagger towards Jin’s stomach.
Jin relinquished his other sword and landed an uppercut on Shadow as he tried to strike.
Shadow was sent flying into the air with a pained look on his face. Jin jumped up to land another hit on him, but Shadow blocked this hit as he was knocked back to the ground and landed on his feet.
Jin flew back towards Shadow and swung his blade, sending an arc of fire towards Shadow.
Shadow cut through the attack, but as he did there were 3 more waves behind it. He cut through the next 3 arcs and blocked Jin as he tried to strike him with his sword.
The 2 exchanged a flurry of attacks at lightning speed, while Jin was much stronger than Shadow, Shadow’s speed was enough to cut off Jins attacks before they gained momentum.
With each hit they exchanged, shockwaves were sent out and cracked the ice beneath them.
Shadows minions watched the battle and exchanged looks of relief, thankful that they were commanded to stay out of this fight.
The fight had turned into a battle of stamina now, would Jin’s strength fail first or Shadow’s speed?
Shadow attempted to dodge one of Jin’s attacks, but Jin had cast a frost spell over his feet while he was distracted by his other attacks. Jin had slowly been releasing a steady stream of ice to stick Shadow in place.
Jin stopped within an inch of striking Shadow; the winner had been decided.
Both of their faces were red and covered in sweat, the duel took a lot out of them.
Jin laughed while catching his breath then walked over and grabbed the toxic sword.
Shadow broke his feet from the ice and laid out on the ground panting, the ice was cooling him off and he didn’t want to get up. Even when he deflected Jin’s attacks, Shadow could feel his bones shake.

Jin held out the sword to Shadow, Shadow sat up and gave him a confused look by raising one of his eyebrows.
“This is yours, had you used your summons this battle would’ve ended differently.” Jin smiled; he was happy to hand off this blade he had had so long to someone close to him.
Shadow took the sword and bowed his head to Jin. He then imbued it with energy from the Void, making it another one of his armaments and making it that much deadlier.
The 2 set up a base camp in the ruins of the nearby town and spent the next week resting while working on their plan of attack.
Shadow had his minions bring them any food they could scavenge and build them a shabby shelter to house themselves in a little comfort. He also had the Fallen bring the corpses of nearby Devils they killed so he could turn them into soldiers of his own.
Jin was spending his time at the beach practicing his abilities and comprehending the extent of the power he now had as well as trying out new combinations of his fused spells. Jin could engulf his body in Celestial Hellfire that healed him and damaged all who touched him.
Shadow increased his understanding of the void and was now able to use new abilities, he could now tear a hole into the void and teleport but not with the same proficiency as Jin. Shadow’s method required a great amount of energy, time, and focus. He could also control his void touched weapons through a form of telekinesis that connected him to anything he made a Void Armament.
After learning the extent of their power, the 2 decided the best plan of attack would be to for them to scout ahead and clear any stronghold they found along the way. They would keep the Fallen behind to kill stragglers and other weaker Devils so that they could minimize casualties of their own forces until they found the Devil Emperor.
Shadow would also continue raising those they killed along the way, with every Devil they killed, the 2 became that much more powerful.
The 2 were looking at a map on a wood table in their shelter built by the Fallen. When it was all of the sudden blown away and the 2 blasted into the street.
A figure surrounded in blinding white light lowered from the sky, it was like the sun was falling in front of their eyes.
Jin and Shadow were both blinded by a light and deafening ringing.
The 2 took out their weapons and charged the being, but a rift in space was opened below each of their feet and they fell into it.
Jin attempted to fly out, but the gravitational pull was too powerful.
He looked for Shadow but couldn’t see him in this vast purple moving rift that was like waves of pure energy.
Jin crashed through to the other side and the rift closed behind him, he got up and looked around. There was still now Shadow, but what he saw put him on edge.
It was a tall series of mountains covered in sharp jagged rocks. They rose even higher than Jin could see and ascended into grayish black clouds that were teeming with lightning. The landscape was void of any life and filled with dark grey rocks.
A gust of wind came from behind Jin, he turned around and couldn’t believe his eyes. It was over a dozen dragons, all the size of the Frost Dragon that he’d encountered. But these dragons had lightning bursting from their bodies.
Their scales were grey with a purplish glow, their claws and teeth were translucent, and you could see lightning bouncing around their being.
Jin felt the static in the air and all his hair stood on end.
He summoned his wings, now that he could fuse abilities, they were no longer frost wings in proportion to his body, they had become the size of trucks when they extended and were made of the Celestial Hellfire that he’d grown so fond of using.
As he flew into the sky, he created Celestial Acid Battle Axes in each hand. They were a glowing purple ooze that melted through everything Jin struck them with and perfect for enemies with high defense.
“It can be 10 dragons or a 100, it’s all the same to me.” He boasted and smiled arrogantly at the Dragons.
