As night fell after hours of traveling, they stopped to set up camp in the countryside. Despite traveling well over 500 miles the Devil Emperor was still very far away.
Shadow recalled the Giant and summoned a handful of other smaller Fallen to set up in the shadows to keep watch for Devils.
Jin used his powers to create a fire.
Shadow used Domain of the Void on their surrounding area then created a small shelter for the 2 with beds all made from pure Void energy.
Jin looked in amazement and slight jealousy at Shadows new powers. “Well would you look at that?”
Shadow pointed at the fire Jin made and silently laughed.
“Shut up! Making a fire is like rule 1 of survival, it’s not like everyone can have the powers of an Original God within them.”
Shadow pretended to wipe a tear from his eye as if he were laughing that hard and then walked inside the shelter he had created.
Jin pouted for a while and sat outside by the fire, but he couldn’t fight off his yawns any longer and went inside the shelter to get some rest. Shadow was already fast asleep, and it didn’t take long for Jin to become the same. It felt like it had been days since they last slept.
The sun rose and Shadow summoned a couple Fallen from the Void that he had stored food from the town with.
After they finished eating, Shadow recalled his domain and the other Fallen.
‘Something is wrong.’
Jin stopped stretching and looked at him. “Why?”
‘Just as I was recalling the soldiers I summoned as sentries, I lost contact with 2 of them.’ Shadowed nodded in the direction the Fallen were placed.
Jim summoned his Celestial Flame swords; they now had a bluish tint and lightning moving throughout the blade. Shadow summoned his Void Scythes then turned invisible.
There was a couple seconds before their enemies emerged from the horizon.
“Well that’s not good.” Jin watched as more and more enemies appeared. There were a countless number of Devil Orcs atop various kinds of War Beasts and other Devil Orcs that were too big to ride the War Beasts.
The Devil Orcs all had red skin with glowing orange eyes and tribal white paint covering their bodies. Some were completely hairless, others had long black beards, Mohawks and ponytails that were weaved with bones of dead animals and humans. Their bodies would make even the largest bodybuilder look average in comparison. Their yellowish teeth and tusks shown to the world as each let out a war cry. Their weapons were swords and axes with shining steel and hills made from the bones of the dead.

The War Beasts were mutated versions of animals that used to roam the land. Lions with manes of fire and 3 times the size of any lion found in nature, others rode red skinned elephants covered in the bones of Fallen enemies. But some still rode the black Dire Wolves that they brought with them when they first invaded the country.
The army was in the thousands, severely outnumbered Jin and Shadow’s forces. Soon as far as the eye could see there were Orcs covering the landscape in front of them. The war cries and stampeding footsteps crushed the morning silence.
Despite seeing such an overwhelming force, Jin was smiling, and Shadow felt at ease.
“Hey Shadow.” Jin called out.
‘Yeah?’
“Try and hold off on calling out your guys, I think we can use this as way to figure out who’s stronger now.”
‘I’ll lose count though.’
“Well obviously, but I was thinking that whoever kills the leader of the orcs is the winner.”
‘Leader?’ Shadow asked as he looked towards the horde, he narrowed his eyes and saw who Jin was talking about.
Way in the back of the Horde was an Orc atop the biggest war beast, a red skinned elephant with gold tusks. They couldn’t see anything else about him, he was still a blurred figure on the horizon.
‘Deal.’ Shadow took off in a full sprint to the horde and Jin flew into the sky.
Jin revealed himself and jumped into the front line of the horde catching them off guard, he began slicing through them with his scythes. Each strike took less than a second, with extreme agility and speed he bounced from Orc to Orc while dismembering and decapitating each one he came into contact with. The Orcs blades couldn’t move fast enough to strike Shadow, all that they were able to stab, and slash was his afterimage. Shadow sliced through the waves of enemies, carving a path to the leader of the Orcs which he could see more clearly now.
The Orc King’s face was filled with rage as he snarled and growled at the sight of Shadow killing his soldiers. The Orc King wore a black bear pelt on his head, 2 large tusks came from his mouth. One was broken and the other covered in gold rings. His body was covered in white tribal markings like the others, but his eyes were a glowing yellow not orange. His weapon was a large sword with a red blade of fired and black hilt and in his other hand was a large metal golden shield covered in spikes.
As Shadow got closer to the Orc King, he could sense that those were no ordinary weapons.
Jin watched Shadow cut a path through the Eastern soldiers, so he attacked the western ones. He first summoned a large cloud of magic and imbued it with acid, fire, and celestial magic. Lava began to rain down from the sky, the Orcs War Cries were turned to howls of pain as the lava rained down on them. But none were killed from this, only damaged. Their resistance to fire and heat was strong even when it was fused with Celestial energy.
Jin changed the elements of his sword and recalled the magic clouds. He changed his Celestial powered swords to be made of frost and the other made with lightning.
Jin flew down and crashed into the middle of the Devil Orc army. He launched a furious barrage of attacks. Each strike from his Celestial Frost sword sent a wave of frost into the Orcs and froze them, then he would strike with the sword of Celestial Lightning that would shatter them and spread throughout the Orcs their as lightning bolts jumped from Devil to Devil.
The 2 Heroes mowed down the army with intense power and speed, hundreds of the Orcs had fallen after only 5 minutes since the start of the battle, but Jin and Shadow had barely broken a sweat and were still full of energy.
The Orc King grew tired at watching the one-sided fight and stood up from his throne weaved from bones and pelts, his face went from an angered expression to a smile filled with malicious intent.
