Chapter 22: Incarnate Invasion

Chapter 22: Incarnate Invasion

While Jin was busy training and Shadow was in the mysteriously Realm of Death, on the other side of the Continent the Incarnates had begun their invasion into Australia to kill the Devil Emperor and his army.

The Incarnates had torn the fabric of reality and made a massive array of portals that led from each of the Incarnates strongholds and directly to the shores of Australia.

Thousands of Blessed Mages, Warriors, Artificers, and other Heroes of all shapes and sizes poured through. Each was led by their Incarnate.

The Incarnate of Beasts, King, with his army of savage Berserkers and Warriors. All were covered in red war paint with tribal symbols, they wore the hides of Devils as their armor, and wielded the most brutish weapons. This force relied heavily on their physical strength and fortifying their attack power through the blessings relieved by the God of Beasts.

The Incarnate of Spirits, Adeline, was clad in bluish silver armor with a white hood and thin white Veil to protect her delicate skin from the harsh sun. Her army of Mages, Healers, and Enchanters were all dressed in blue and white robes. Her Forces were more supporting and defensive based, they specialized in enchanting the artifacts of the Blessed and casting buffs on them while they fought. There were still roughly a couple thousand of her forces that specialized in combat magic. They were always considerably weaker than the Battle Mages that had been blessed by the Goddess of Magic in the past though.

The Incarnate of Knowledge, Warmind, was commanding his army of strategists, engineers, and gunmen. The looks of his Blessed varied dramatically, some resembled mad scientists while others looked like the most rugged soldiers you could find in any military.

The only Incarnate that was missing was the Incarnate of Time, he was resting after having opened the portals for the other Incarnates. His forces were temporarily under the command of King. The Incarnate of Time’s Blessed were a small elite group of 100 Champions. They all wore white robes with gold lining, hiding their faces behind matte white masks with the face of either a fox or a snake. The abilities of these Blessed were feared by all who learned their secret powers that the Incarnate of Time had bestowed upon them.

In exchange for half their lifespan he granted the ones with Fox masks the ability to reverse the state of their body to whatever it was 5 minutes ago. This made the Blessed essentially unkillable until they died of old age. Then those with the snake mask had the ability to teleport through time and arrive through a portal 1 minute into the future or the past.

With the gathering of all the Blessed in the world, the march to the Devil Emperor began.

Unknown to the Incarnates was that on the other side of the Continent, Jin and Shadow had been traveling from the East to the Center of the country where the Devil Emperor was located.

A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

But the Incarnates had arrived in the far North and they were soon to be met with the full force of the Devil Elf Army and their Wyvern mounts.

Not even a full day into their march, the Incarnate army engaged into a massive conflict with the Devils and brought their march to a halt.

The Elves launched their attacks from the sky and rained down fire and arrows, while also sending their Elven warriors to attack the ground forces.

Thousands of Blessed charged into the Devil Elf frontlines, the Blessed outnumbered the Devils greatly, so the Incarnates decided on a direct attack because they had so many expendable forces.

The Heroes of the Spirit Goddess stayed to the rear and Blessed the Beast Warriors and Warmind’s Gunman.

The Assassins of the God of Time engaged from the side of the Elven Army and successfully flanked them.

While the Berserkers slashed wildly at the Devils while being constantly healed and buffed by the Mages. But no matter how much support they were receiving, the Mages could only heal so much until the Warriors were chopped down by Elven warriors.

The Mages with attack spells launched spears of ice into the Elves air forces and impaling whatever wyvern was unlucky enough to fly in range and the rider would fall from his mount then splattering into a stain on the ground.

The casualties were rising rapidly for each side, but the Incarnates had more to lose and at this rate the Elves were going to run out of soldiers as they became overwhelmed by the Champions.

The Incarnates all watched from a distance, they decided beforehand they weren’t going to bother wasting any energy until the fight with the Devil Emperor and all the plebs were to be dealt with by their Champions.

In the distance they watched the rising of smoke, the misting of blood, and flashes of fire that erupted from the tens of thousands currently fighting. To them, the blessed all looked like ants fighting over an ant hill. The screams of pain, sounds of clashing metal, and war cries echoed for miles all around as the blood of Elves and Blessed spilled into the land.

Corpses were piling so high on the front lines that the warriors had to climb over them to get to the remaining Elves and the supporting forces used these piles of bodies to shield themselves from the ranged attacks of the Elves.

King had stripped his Blessed of their feeling of fear, so they charged into battle without hesitation. This bloodlust was greeted in kind by the Devil army. It was savage violence that some of the Mages could barely watch.

Even when an Elf managed to slip by the Warriors, they were quickly gunned down by Warmind’s soldiers and shot to chunks by the Enchanted Rifles.

The Assassins of Time were the only group to maintain 0 casualties as they swooped through the rear Devil forces at an alarming rate, they killed all the Elven Mages and archers. Then proceeded to assist the Warriors in killing off what remained of the Devils.

The Incarnates of Knowledge and Spirits watched with apathy, while King had started to grow impatient. He wanted desperately to take part in the bloodshed and carnage taking place, but the others convinced him that his energy needed to be preserved until the fight with the Devil Emperor because he would be their main Warrior and the only one who had the strength to match the Devil Emperor in a one-on-one fight.

Despite the Blessed having victory in their sights, the battle would continue to be drawn out as the Elves regrouped and had their air forces reinforce their defenses. Slowly the Elves were being pushed into a corner, but they weren’t going down without giving this battle everything they had.
