9. A really boring class

9. A really boring class

I woke up to Tyler body slamming me at 6 am. “Ugh” was the only sound I could make. Tyler rolls of my bed with a smile. “It’s time for breakfast.” The devil himself says. Rolling off the bed I flop to the floor. I didn’t remember spell-crafting being this bad. It’s probably due to my low stats.

Take a quick shower and getting ready for the day, I head downstairs to get some breakfast. Tyler is shoving a piece of toast topped with eggs and bacon into his mouth. His little brother, I say little but he’s taller than me, is mirroring the action. Chuckling, I grab breakfast and sit down. “So, what’s our plan for the day,” I ask Tyler. After some attempts at swallowing, he grabs his orange juice and chugs a little.

“That’s better,” Tyler says to himself. “The plan is pretty simple, head to the class at 8 then hit the tower.”

Nodding to Tyler, I repeat the eating style just shone. After breakfast it was around 7, so Tyler and I left for the class. We arrived early on purpose, to get good seats, and walk up to our local FTB(Federal Tower Buero) and ask for directions for the newcomers class. After getting some seats near the middle of the room, I check for anyone I might know. No one, but that was expected, I only worked with the best of the best. It would be crazy if I meet one of them here.

“Oh look it’s Sara, and Tom, and Jerry,” Tyler kept listing names for the next few seconds. All people who I didn’t remember. Some of them came over to talk to Tyler. They didn’t talk to me, not in a passive-aggressive way but more as they didn’t know me. I never was very social.

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

A person in a suit came in and started the class. It was really boring, so I’ll condense it. First, not everyone can enter the tower. Second, 5 in a stat is equivalent to a normal person. Third, you gain a bunch of stats when you first enter the tower. Fourth, you gain a skill every ten levels. Fifth, It’s recommended to gain 2-4 levels per floor. Sixth, Classes evolve at level 10, then at level 50, and then every 50 levels after that. Seventh, at 10 in a stat you reach tier 1 in that stat and the effect it has on your body is increased, it happens every 100th stat level after, going up one tier each time. Eighth, skills can be evolved to the tier of your class. Ninth, You start at tier 1 and gain 1 tier every evolution after the first. Tenth, you can get skill pages from drops and floor clear rewards. Eleventh, there are 5 types(6) of floors, the types are dungeon, swarm, achievement, hub, and exploration(the last one is army). Dungeon is a standard crawl, with the goal being to kill the boss and the obstacles being traps and monsters. Swarm is wave-based survival, with the goal being to survive for a set number of rounds. Achievement is when the system asks you to do something non-standard. Exploration is when you have to find the exit in a small segment of a world. Hub floors occur after each tenth floor(11,21,31,41...) and are places of trade and safety. The last one is army it's when you have to fight an army.

Overall it was pretty accurate and useful information. I look over at Tyler to see him barely wake with his notes stopping about halfway through the class. I hope he at least remembers some of it. After the class ends about three people head over and start talking with Tyler. I tune them out until I hear my name.

“Hey Zain, is it cool if they come with us today,” Tyler asks while looking over his shoulder.

I say the only thing an introvert can say to an extrovert. “sure”.
