My style of combat completely overwhelmed the goblins, who may or may not be able to move. Goblins have around 5 dexterity, when my {Hex of Slowness} is applied to them it may push their dexterity into the negatives making it impossible to move. From there I just poked them in vital spots. It was extremely easy, and after poking my way through the first floor, I ended up on a mini-boss.
The mini-boss was a five-foot hob-goblin, it had light orange skin with warts covering its face. Disgusting as always, but it would be a good test of my abilities right now. As I cast {Hex of Slowness} and I felt something I rarely ever felt while casting my spells, resistance. It took more mana than normal to hex the hob-goblin before taking hold on it.
The hob-goblin started to look around as fast as it could. It wasn’t very fast given the drop in dexterity. It found me after a couple of seconds due to my horrendous stealth skills. Even in my past life I never got the handle on stealth, I even had a skill for it and it never worked.
With a snort, the hob-goblin charged me or tried. It was super slow due to a certain hex placed on it. I walk over to it as casually as I could, holding my rapier I take some pokes at him. It barely does anything to the slow hob-goblin.
Upset that my low stats weren't allowing me to use the rapier effectively. Sighing, I dispelled {Hex of Slowness} and cast {Lesser Curse of Immolation}. Gasping as the mana cost was raised to 70 to cast it once. Why did a mini-boss at floor 1 have resistance to hexes and curses? It was a mystery for another day.

For now, I watched the hob-goblin slowly burn up on the inside with a smile on my face as I danced around the easily read attacks. It was always fun to watch my curses work their magic.
The hob-goblin was immolated after a short while, a warm feeling filled me up.

That felt good, now it was time to get to level 4 or 5, then fight the first boss. Before I left, I checked out the hob-goblins drops. It was a paintbrush? The drop I got is a paintbrush. I didn’t have an identifying skill so I would get it checked after I got out of the tower.
Skipping along while casting {Hex of Slowness} on every goblin I found before stabbing them in the heart and skipping away. I repeated this process until I found the next mini-boss. It went pretty much the same way. Low damage with a rapier, curse resistance, and the same paintbrush. Well, I could only hope it was expensive. I also got a level up.

I put the free points into wisdom and started to head for where I thought that the boss was located. It was time for my first boss fight in this life.
