Once our conversation was done we exited Tyler's car and headed inside. His parents and little brother were eating dinner so we joined them. After discussing our day and we finished our food then we headed up to our rooms.
“Tyler, I’m about to make some spells. Got any preference for your starting one?” I ask him.
“Something that enhances me would be best. Moving faster or being more durable would be nice,” Tyler says.
“Cool, want both?”
“I sense a but.”
“But, you're going to clear the first floor with them. By yourself.”
“Because it would be too easy for you if I joined and you need this level of combat prowess for my plans.”
“Do say more.”
“There was something I couldn’t do in my past life. You don’t know yet but on some floors past 50 there are dungeons. These dungeons give powerful skills and gear the downside being the extreme difficulty, and that's coming from me. My most powerful single-target curse was gained from a dungeon reward.”
“Dang, and you want me to go in one?”
“Preferably with a healer, but yes.”
“Those spells better be really fucking good then,” Tyler says while going into his room.
I head into the guest room and get to work. While I will never have any spells that are not curses in my skill list, I can make them pretty easily. Turns out that debuffs and buffs are really similar. Who would have guessed? It took me about an hour each to make Tyler’s first spells.

{Zain’s Lesser Momentum - Self-Cast - Increases reaction time by 1% per ten seconds to a maximum of 10% - Can not be stacked - Mana reserved 40 - Created By Scholar of the First Curse Zain}
{Zain’s Lesser Durance - Self-Cast - Reduces physical damage by 10% - Can not be stacked - Mana reserved 40 - Created By Scholar of the First Curse Zain}
I used my new pen to write the spell forms for Tyler. I also got a notification that the system was copying the spells. Sighing, I got to work on my new project. Weird ass curses, for example, one curse I made in the past {Curse of Social Taboos} which just made people constantly commit, as it says, social taboos. Not too useful in combat but great at public speeches.
My goal this time was to make the most roundabout ways of hurting people. The first attempt was pretty good.
{Lesser Curse of Toe Stubbing - Target is 500% more likely to stub its toe - Mana reserved 10 - Created By Scholar of the First Curse Zain}
It wasn’t perfect but watching someone mid-battle stub their toe would be worth the 100 or so mana required to make it happen. The next one was even more fun.
{Lesser Curse of Slipping - Target has an 8% to slip each time it moves - Can not be stacked - Mana reserved 80 - Created By Scholar of the First Curse Zain}
If these seem pretty broken it because each floor every enemy gains a bit more resistance until these just don’t work anymore and for the same effect it costs at least 10 times the amount of mana. For my last spell, I wanted to get tricky.
{Lesser Curse of Healing - Uses 10 points of both Mana and Stamina from target to heal said target for 10 points of health every minute - Can not be stacked - Mana reserved 100 - Created By Scholar of the First Curse Zain}
It was pretty pricey but the drain on both mana and stamina is well worth the health gain and mana cost. It also didn’t stop when the target was full-on health. It would slowly drain the energy out of the target forever. It was a perfect tier-one curse.
