Over the night there was one more attempt at dispelling my curses, I let it happen. I’m not that much of a monster to keep the debuffs on the scout and I kinda need the mana. I started making my walls soundproof until 1 am then I got some sleep.
The next morning I wake up to a nagging feeling in my soul. Something is trying to push me into becoming a god, and I don't like it. In order to become a god, you have to have your willpower wrestle a concept from a world. I still have no fucking clue what a concept is and it’s pissing me off. None of the gods on the exploration floors, or world fragments as they call them, would tell me. Even after I stole their willpower making them lose their godhood. Stubborn assholes, if they had just told me I would have let them live.
On other thoughts, with my new class, I am going to diversify my spells. I was thinking of making a damage over time spell that eat at the health pool. With the power of bardic spells it should be pretty effective and in this case, a show to watch. I’ve already picked the song.
After making breakfast and vowing to go shopping, I head out to meet Tyler at the tower. On the drive over I start practicing the song. I’m going to add visuals this time which is going to take some of the power out but I want to add some flair.
Getting to our local tower entrance and not seeing Tyler I head into the exchange to buy some spell paper. I wanted to push the limits of tier 1 or low as the system calls it. To do that I was going to need to make a grimoire, I could use it until tier 4 as you need a really special kind of paper to draw 4th-dimensional objects. The first three tiers (0,1,2) are all 2 dimensional, at tier 3 they become 3rd dimensional, and so on. It was a super pain in the ass to put a tier 5 spell on paper.
Still not seeing Tyler, I sit down and start making a grimoire, by casting {Make Grimoire}. The papers shuffle into a neat stack, then some of the mana used to cast the spell turns into mana-string binding the paper, the remaining mana creates a cover with the design coming from my mana signature. It was a black leather cover with highlights of white, then the title engraves itself on the spine and cover, Zain’s Guide To Casting Good Spells Vol 1.
Still not seeing Tyler, I open up the grimoire and start to write. There are many ways to advance the mystical arts of magic. This guide is just but one of the ways and one of the most gruesome. The spells included in this grimoire are not for the faint of heart and will not focus on one style of magic. I hope you have chosen well.
Looking up I see Tyler looking down at me, I give a little jump. Tyler chuckles and asks, “What are you writing?”
“I’m writing a grimoire, so I can pass down my glorious magic to a lesser generation.”
“You mean future generation?”
“I know what I said.”
“Ok, are you ready to clear some floors?”
“Yep, I have a new spell to try out.”
“Any hints?”
“Worm.”
“Worm?”
“Worm.”
Shaking his head Tyler leads us to the tower entrance, where three people in suits quickly come up to us. “Hello, we are working with the FTB. Can you please follow us.” The lady in the front says. It wasn't a request.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
Tyler responds before I can tell them to fuck off, “Sure, lead the way.”
They take us into a small room in the exchange. It looks like an interrogation room, steel table and chairs, and a spot to cuff someone to the table. “Please sit.” The woman asks us.
Tyler sits down on the side with two seats, I do not. Quickly walking around the table and sitting in the chair opposite Tyler, and soon hear two sighs. One from the woman and one from Tyler.
“Fine,” The woman says standing at the end of the table. “We are here to talk about two things, first the altercation with the Twilight Forest guild and the large amount of loot you've been finding.”
I roll my eyes while Tylers starts to sweat. Oh ya, never told him about the curses.
“First the altercation, the Twilight Forest guild claims that a man matching your description cursed a member of their guild, what says you.”
“Who the fuck says ‘what says you’,” She starts to move her hand. “But on topic, they instigated the conflict by scanning me without my permission.”
“They have the right to do that.”
“What, that just doesn’t sound right.”
Her face tightens in anger, and I get really tempted to curse her. I don’t, but I want to.
“Zain stop doing that!” Tyler whispers at me. Scoffing I ignore him, I know what I’m doing.
“Don’t make me arrest you,” She says.
“Oh no don’t arrest me, officer,” I say while batting my eyelashes. One thing I’ve yet to mention is that after entering the Tower emotions get harder to control. Most people know about this and work to fix this problem, they mostly fail. It’s like the Tower wants us to be violent?
She punches me in the face, nearly bottoming out my health as it heals me. “I’m going defend myself now,” I say to no one in particular just wanting to get it on record.
Then I start my new song, the sounds of the instruments come into existence. “The earth makes meals of us all, Into the dirt you will fall.” The lady starts to scratch at her skin as it starts to look like something is crawling in her. She can’t seem to focus on me anymore. “To the worms your coffin is like a wet bar, Don’t matter how rich or poor you are, If you're walking on the ground” The other two agents barge into the room only to fall over in pain. “They put you in a big black box, And cover you up with dirt and rocks.” Now their veins are black and there are more worms crawling inside them. “All goes well for about a week, Until your coffin begins to leak.” The reason this spell is working so well is that It’s using my mana along with the ambient mana. Taking a quick look at my mana I curse inwardly. [Mana 100/190].
Now I wasn’t just being a super big asshole here. I have two goals, one to show that I’m no pushover and need real power to take me down. And the second, I feel someone is trying to counter my spell. I slam into his willpower and consume it. Every little bit counts.
“The worms crawl in, the worms crawl out, In your belly, and out your snout. They eat the jelly between your toes, They eat the memory of all you have known.” The lady has passed out and the two agents are in the fetal position. They are probably around level 90 or so. Clearly no match for my genius.
Tyler is just staring at me in abject terror, not knowing what my goal is. Or he does know and disapproves of my methods. It doesn’t really matter, regardless he’ll come around.
I’m not the first person to make a display like this, if it goes well they stop bothering you over the small stuff. If it doesn’t… well let’s get to that if we have to.
“They eat your heart, They eat your soul.” Blood is coming out of the agent's eyes now. [Mana 40/190].
“It's the dawning of the age, Of the worm, Bow down to the worms.” As the song ends worms flood out of the mouths and noses of the agents. [Mana 10/190]. I get a notification.
