B2 Chapter 78: "Just A Simple Administrative Formality."

Over in New Boss City, Deland

Those Seven officials are now arriving at a government building and pass-through security. They then proceed inside a meeting room and interrupt a meeting that was taking place about changing form A62 to form B82. As they stand in front of the door another man shouts “Wait I send people wanting Permit Eight-Thirty-Eight for to get Form B-Eighty-Three. If we change the name of that form, it will confuse people maybe even us. Why not change the form-to-Form O-Two thousand? That will save us a headache later” The man on with the title card Lead Accountant shouts.

Two of the other members in the room look at him and pull out a Reference sheet.

“Can’t Use O-Two-thousand. That’s a Form we use for issuing licenses to people to hang out a Clothesline. But we can change it to Form “O-MM” if you want. That’s not on the registry” The man says as he waves around a 7-inch-thick sheet stack of paper.

The lead corrupted official then coughs loudly on purpose to break the silence and bring attention to himself.

“Excuse me everyone. But where do I go to get to Form ‘30S-2.M?’” He asks them while showing them his VIP status badge.

“Ahh Yes Form ‘Thirty-S Dash 2-point M’ The prerequisite permit to be able to recruit people for an event for selfish gain. Try the Second floor. Window Nine” The man with the title card “Lead Accountant” tells them. They all then walk out of the room.

“Can you believe these board meetings cost taxpayers 6k a minute, and they are blowing it on stupid stuff?” Council member number 4 says jokingly while walking down the hallway with his squad.

“As long as it doesn’t affect us, I don’t care what they do” The Senior official says as they climb the stairs. As they enter the main corridor, they see window Nine and walk up to it.

“Excuse me miss I need Form 30S-2.M” he tells the lady who was lazily looking at her nails.

“I’m sorry sir. That’s not my department. You need to go to the third floor and talk to window four” she tells him. They all then walk away and go up to the third floor.

As they scan the room, they can’t find it. There were windows 30-45 here but not a four. So, they walk up to window 43, a window that had no line in it and asks where window four is.

“Oh, go to that one” Another lazy employee tells them while pointing to Window 41 which had a long line. As they get in line and wait for 20 minutes, they reach the front and ask the man for Form 30S-2. M.

“I’m Sorry sir. This isn’t the window for that. This is the window for “Asking for directions to Window Four” The man replies. Everyone in his party lets out a loud irritated growl.

“Okay then. Where is Window Four at?” The leader asks

“Before I can do that, I need Form Twelve dash six four to tell you that. You can get it at window Forty-Three” he says. The leader then screams “ARE YOU KIDDING ME! I WAS JUST THERE!” He then stomps back over to window 43 and gets the form and has to wait back in line again. When they arrive up front the man tells them to go to the Seventh floor, so they all proceed on their quest to floor Seven and walk up to window four.

“I need permit 30S-2.M!” He screams at her in an irritated tone. The lady huffs and glares at him. No need to be rude sir! She then hands him form 30S-2.M Fill this out” she tells him. They all then sit on a bench and start filling out the form. They then walk back up to the window and give it to her. Give me my license please! He asks her. She then looks at him all confused.

“I’m Sorry sir. But this is only a Pre-requisite form. You need to take this ticket over to Window two” she said while pointing left.

“Are you kidding me? This was a pre-requisite all along?” The leader asks his 2nd in command.

“Uh, yes? Didn’t you hear what the man said? This is the pre-form you need to fill out to actually get the main official form. He replies back to them. They walk over to the adjacent window and hand the Dwarf who was working the window their ticket stub.

“Umm whats this for? The bored dwarf asks him.

“For the form I need to be able to recruit people for a selfish cause!” The leader screams at him.

“I’m sorry sir. I don’t do Permit 21-P. This is window Three. You need window two” They all look around the room and notice the window adjacent to him was window 1.

“Where the hell is window two at then?” The leader shouts at the Dwarf.

“Calm Down laddie, I’ll help you out. Geez I don’t get paid enough for this” he says while having his paystub that had his hourly pay scale of 55 gold an hour showing in plain sight. He gets up and walks over to another stall.

“Hey Tom, where is Window Two?” The Dwarf asks

“Window Two? It’s that one, right?” Tom points across the room to a window that had no marked numbers on it.

“No that’s Window Fifty-Five. I don’t remember where they put window number two” The Dwarf Answers him.

Suddenly an older professional looking woman wearing glasses who had her hair pinned up, comes out holding a bunch of folders comes out of the office. “The men downstairs voted to move window two to floor four a while ago. But the lady didn’t get along with her coworker next to her, so they moved her to Floor Three. However, … A man on that floor didn’t like the fact Window two is a prime number, so they asked the board to vote on changing it. They settled on naming the window -281 and moved her to the top floor” The lady says with a smile on her face.

“Thank you Lady! You are the most helpful! I will make sure to talk to the higher ups and get you a Raise!” The leader tells the woman.

“Oh, really sir?! Thank you! Here’s Forms to do such a thing!” The woman says while taking the top folder on her stack that had over a half a foot in thickness of paper in it. She then attempts to hand them to him, but he steps back away from her after being turned off by the amount of work to do such a thing.

“Better yet I’ll come back later and do that” he says while walking away from her and crushing her spirit. She frowns and puts all the folders on her desk and looks at Tom.

“You know you can’t simply just hand him that form right? He needs to fill out form A62 to receive those forms from you” Tom says while taking a sip of Coffee.

So, the Corrupted officials continue onto their quest to find window -281, or formally window two on Floor 10. When they arrive up there, they hand the lady their ticket stub and in return they receive Permit 21-P. They then fill this out and receive a license to recruit people for their selfish cause.

By the time they get outside they are suddenly then hit with the feeling of being in there awhile. They were alarmed to realize it was dark outside, so they ask one of the exiting employees what time it was.

The man then turns out to tell them something alarming. It was 7pm and not only that but it was Monday. When alarmed that 3 days somehow slipped past them, they demand answers.

“You see the Board voted to enchant the building with a weird spell. A spell that was covered under Form 2-MMF. Time on the inside appears to slow down, but time on the outside actually accelerates. So, it’s really a maddening place to go inside of” he tells them.

“Why would they do such a stupid thing like that!” The leader shouts at the poor nice guy

“I don’t know. We don’t ask such things. If you want answers you need to fill out form 4108-BB” He nicely replies.

The whole group then marches away from the building extremely aggravated. “Sir, tried to tell you yesterday we should have taken action immediately, I did warn you it takes like days to get anything done in there” One of the officials tells the leader.

“Shut Up Jerry! We lost precious days! We have four days to recruit people. Let’s get to work!” He screams at him. They all then both disperse and start heading to places all around the city to recruit people.

Back over in Staug at the mansion, Ryan was in a room with 8 people from the camp outside. All the people inside composed of professional Tailors and Crafters. For the past three days they have been dedicating their time and effort to helping Ryan get something he’s been wanting really badly. They were all working together to finish a brand-new kite for Ryan. For two hours in the morning and 4 hours in the evening they all collaborated in making his brand new 12-meter 4 line Closed/open hybrid cell foil kite.

His little “village” today just had a free for all day. A select number of people decided to head downtown and go shopping and meet the hopeful locals, while the adventurous ones in the group ran the Aquifer dungeon, and another group chose to sail back to Ana Island and have fun on their own little private island. The last group, a few handful of people chose to go hunting in the woods outside the town with the local hunters and learn more about the wildlife of Tourterra.

The people in this room were following a huge blueprint on the wall Ryan bought from the local printer, the same one who also made all those copies of that election date document that everyone posted all over town. Ryan had showed her the diagram he found online, and she managed to make a physical huge copy of it. Everyone here were slowly making parts for it and assembling them. The Tailors who were familiar with cutting fabric, were making chamber dividers for this huge kite. They were working and teaching the crafters how to do certain specialized things like complicated stitches that had to be almost perfect and extremely strong. They had both skin sides done at this point and were working together on making the mesh intake screens and the zippers for the “Open Foil” mode holes. They were sewing on the mesh covers and underneath the table 2 people on the wingtips were sewing in the bridle points. Ryan who was eyeing the big blueprint on the wall starts taking note of the bridle shape and pattern and starts unwinding this specialty made lightweight “Dynamight” thread he had a weaver in town make for him. In his hand lies 9k gold worth of line. This thread was super strong, light, and fire/blast resistant. Something that he was going to make the investment for incase he gets in a pursuit again from people who are trying to kill him. He didn’t want his kite line; the weakest part, to come under fire and fail him like it did in Butts. He starts taking string from this spool and starts rigging the bridles. Now the bridle connections are done being stitched in.

For the next 30 minutes he does this task and once he was done the project was considered finished. Everyone applauds after the final knot was tied and the excess was cut off. Everyone then helps him fold it up and they take it outside for an unusual brutal stress test. He ties two ropes to two trees and ties the kite to those trees like a hammock using the connection points on the wings. He then gently gets on it and lays down. It supports his weight perfectly. He unties the wing points from the trees and connects his new bar to it.

“All of you hold the kite up” Ryan orders them. Everyone picks up the kite from the ground and Ryan holds pressure on the lines. “I got this side. I want you all to pull as hard as you can away from me. I want to test the structure strength” Ryan orders them.

Everyone looks at each other and are hesitant about doing this to their creation. But they all listen to him and start pulling. Ryan gets a running start and starts running against them. As the tension in the lines start to take up slack everyone holds on tight and braces for the hard tug. Once the tug happens, they hear a large Crack and tear on the right side of the kite. Suddenly that hold portion rips right in half.

Ryan smiles at this and cheers. “Whoo-hoo! That would have killed me!” He says sarcastically cheerful.

As he walks back to the kite everyone frowns at the failure.

“Better for it to do it down here, then when I’m using it. So, who sewed this portion?” Ryan asked.

“I think that was me” One of the young female crafters admits while raising her hand. The expert tailor next to her notices the pattern she sewed in and frowns at the girl.

“Honey, that was the wrong pattern to do. You didn’t go through the divider, and those stitches weren’t fine enough” The woman replies back to her while picking up the torn fabric and pointing out her mistakes to her. She then takes out her needle and simulates how it was supposed to be done to the novice girl.

“To be fair, she did do a better job than me, but this thing is super critical to get right. Let’s get it inside and fix it” Ryan says calmly and directs them inside. He lays the damaged kite on the floor and the pros jump in and start cutting off torn ends and removing the old threads at a lightning pace. The other ones in the room unravel some of the left-over cloth and start measuring and cutting for the people on the floor. In 2 hours, they had that segment fixed, and discover a bridle connection point that needed to be reinforced. They walk back outside at which the sun was starting to set, and Ryan does his pull test again. When he reaches his end of his runway of line the line tightens up and 3 women fall over on top of it onto the soft grass below. Ryan cheers and drops his bar and rushes to everyone and gives them a hug. “Thank you all so much!” He tells them feeling overwhelmed with excitement.

“So are you taking it for a Test flight” one of the women asked him while looking up at the skyline and sees some trees moving and swaying. “Sure, why not!” Why announces proudly. He then opens up his void storage portal and pulls out his freshly crafted Kiteboard that a few carpenters made him yesterday. He looks over and sees Zephyr talking to Liz and gets ready to invite her to come along for the test ride on the water. But he suddenly notices Liz was in an upset mood and sees Zephyr trying to talk to her.

He walks over to Zephyr and places his arms around her from behind and kisses her on top of her cat ears. “Can I borrow Liz for a test ride on my new kite?” He whispers in her ear.

“Wait. Why not take me?” She asks him feeling confused and a little jealous.

“I’ve noticed her being stressed lately. Why not give her something to do that’s fun?” Ryan replies.

“You have a point. Go ahead go have fun with her. I trust her. She won’t even think about fucking you behind my back. So go give her some excitement” she tells him sternly.

She turns her head behind her and gives him a quick kiss and places her arms over his, initiating a “Trusting Hug” from behind her.

Ryan who felt a little awkward from Zephyr’s remark, then approaches Liz.

“Teleport me to the beach” he orders her with a smile and his folded-up kite in his hand.

“Get Arcadia to do it. I’m not in the mood” she tells him in anger.

Zephyr stares into her eyes and makes a “Go” motion with her neck to her.

Liz rolls her eyes at Zephyr and picks up her staff. She then teleports them both downtown.

“You know I don’t feel like spending the next two hours here watching you test this new thing out” Liz announces to him as they arrive at the front of the city.

“I know. But I am not testing it out. “WE” are going to test it out. He tells her with a huge emphasis on the “WE”. “So, you better hop into something more water worthy” Ryan tells her as he looks at the sun almost going down below the horizon.

“Ryan, I don’t want to do anything. I am not in a good mood right now” She pleads with him.

“Too bad. You need some excitement. It’s been all “Work Work” and no play for you. I know your tired of being bitched at by everyone since Lake has fucked up the town. Look change into something better while I launch this thing” Ryan tells her as he places his hand on her shoulder.

Liz moans in anger and magically changes her clothes from the spell Kannell taught her. Ryan then puts on a new kite harness the other crafters made him. He launches his kite Facing northerly and pulls out his new board.

“Ready?” he asks her.

“I’m not in the mood for this. Plus, where are the wheels for this at?” She says while pointing to the flat board that was strapped to his feet. He smiles at her and pulls her to him. He then gets under her legs and forces her onto his back. She glares in anger at him from up top as he rushes out to the water with his board. A wave splashes them both and wakes them up with cold shock. Liz then screams in anger and smacks him in the side. Ryan then purposely falls backward into the water onto his bottom on the shoreline and connects the other side of his board to his foot. As he and her are drenched in water from his purposeful fall, Liz starts screaming and punching him in anger as the cool waves start to drench them even more. Ryan then grabs her leg tight and slides on his butt on the gritty sandy bottom of the water until the water came pass his knees.

“Hold On!” He warns her as he pushes his lead foot out front. He then pulls the bar in, and the kite generates power and pulls him and her both forward. As he starts to yaw along the surface of the water, he stands up and places his other foot on the front of the board and stands up. Liz leans forward in a panic and almost wipes them both out, but Ryan catches them and turns away.

“Lean with me not against me” He warns her as they slowly start to make a turn.

She remains perfectly still as he makes a toe side turn, and they straighten out.

Liz starts to take in all this and goes from scared to excited. With the high speed of them traveling over the water, and multiple forces acting on them both, she quickly finds this activity fun.

With the sun disappearing behind the horizon and the stars coming out, Ryan leans back and heads toward Ana Island. Ryan then pulls in the bar some more and they gain even more speed. As he does that, he sees some oyster beds in his path and panics. He looks where he can go and carves away from them and into a wave.

“Hang On!” He shouts at her. She tightens up her legs and places her hands under his arms and he attacks the wave head on, and they launch 10 feet in the air and gently glide down. As the glide down Liz lets out a cheer. Suddenly a flash of bright light can be seen from Ana Island, and it suddenly takes to the skies at a highspeed and heads toward them. When the flash of light gets into focus, Ryan sees it and freaks out yet again. Suddenly Liz calms him down and pats him.

“Don’t worry Ryan it’s not what you think!” She tells him as she leans back and gently runs her hand through the water.

Suddenly Daytona comes into focus from beside them. It was flying in front of them and was engulfed in flames and was illuminating their path. Ryan does his best to keep the kite lines away from the Phoenix, and Liz chooses to do something unexpected.

She makes a unique whistle and Daytona turns off its flames and starts to fall back. Liz puts her hand up into the air and Daytona, the size of a Condor, lands on her arm gently. She then tightens up her legs up even tighter and removes her other arm from around Ryan and pets Daytona and scratches its chin. She also gives it a quick kiss and gently casts the bird off her arm, and it ignites itself once more and takes off flying ahead of them. Ryan looks back at her and smiles and thinks “Wow that was pretty damn cool” and adjusts his course to the island. Sometime later were about 90% the way there, so he starts to slow down.

“When we get to shore can you catch this?” He asks her.

“Sure, she replies as she predicts where on the island where they will land. As they decelerate even further, he lets go of the bar and slips out of his foot strap. He then back stalls the board and sinks into the 3 feet of water. With his feet on the ground, Liz gets off and rushes adjacent to shore and Ryan lets the kite down to her. She catches it and Ryan does his thing. He walks over to the kite and balls it up and puts his board and harness on top of it. As he does so Daytona circles the island and comes to rest on top a tree and extinguishes its flames. Liz cheers and conjures them both some water and they sit on the sand and look at the moon that was shining out over the water.

Suddenly the happy mood Liz was in was interrupted when she looks over at where Villano Island used to sit. She then starts to cry. Ryan quickly jumps into action and comforts her and places his hand on her back.

“I still miss you so much!” She cries out softly toward the disappeared island.

“I still feel bad for what happened” Ryan tells her.

“I know. But she’s gone and I don’t have a whole lot to remember her by. I wish the island was still there. I sometimes dream at night if the island was still there, I would teleport over there. Crawl into her bed and take a nap and admire all memories of our house. But sadly, I can’t. That whole island is at the bottom of the water and there is no way to do such a thing” she tells him.

“I mean, if you want, we could sail over there and take a look to see if that place is still there” he tells her.

She turns to him and gets up and smiles. “You mean it?” She asks appearing excited.

“I uhh- You know what? Sure, we can.” Ryan says feeling caught off guard unaware she was going to agree to such a thing. She then Grabs him by his arm and drags him.

“Let’s go!” she demands. As she runs over to the kite. Ryan stood there feeling confused as she brings him his harness, board and control bar. He snaps out of his trance and puts on his harness and Liz assists with inflation of the kite by doing what she saw him do back on land. She started shaking the intakes and when the wing took shape, she backed away and Ryan launched it. She hops on his back and they both take off across the water.

Once they arrive at the island, Ryan back stalls the board and they sink into the water. Ryan keeps his kite above the water and soon realizes this is going to be a challenge with landing the kite and not letting it sink fully into the water. Sure the kite is designed to be water relaunchable, but it can’t float on the water like a boat for an extended amount of time. As Daytona hovers up over head of them, Ryan soon has a great idea. He lands the kite on the water and starts wrapping up the lines while floating on his back in the water. When he wraps up his kite he reaches up to Daytona and ties the kite and bar to its legs. He then looks at Liz and realizes she was gone. It took him 2 minutes to wrap up his lines and he totally lost track of where she went.

Suddenly she pops her head up above the water and gasps for air while holding on tight to a muddy chest. She swims it over to him and grabs him. As she pulls him close to her, she opens the top of the chest and pulls out the vials that were inside them and stuffs them into her bra. Then without warning she shoves a vial of potion that was in her hand, right into his mouth. A blue flash appears from his mouth and suddenly Ryan feels lightheaded. Liz then pulls the vial out and discards it into the water. She then drinks one herself.

“I just gave you a potion that will allow you to breathe underwater for Thirty Minutes. Now let’s go!” She says as she dives underwater. Ryan who sat above the water feeling confused at what is happening chooses to dive under. As he takes his first breath, he coughs and feels like he’s drowning. His lungs felt as if they were on fire but that feeling dissipates fast.

As he looks for Liz who was 10 feet below him waiting patiently, he pulls out his phone and activates the light on it. He can see her way better now and the sunken island is now visible at 300 feet below them. As soon as Liz sees the house, she darts off towards it.

Ryan attempts to keep up with her but can’t. She arrives inside the house and attempts to yank open the door. She can’t open it up and waits for Ryan. When he gets to her, they try to force open the door and get it open. They both swim inside and take a look around. The dark murky and muddy water has overran and gotten onto everything. But somehow this doesn’t deter Liz from finding Vedras old bed and hopping into it and getting under the nasty blankets. As she lays her head on the pillow that had a few crabs on it she turns on her side and hugs the bed. She then just lies there for 3 minutes. Ryan explores the house in that time and soon comes back to Liz piling things into a pile. She then makes a hand gesture at the things on the floor and makes her best “Portal” gesture to him. He suddenly realizes what she was trying to ask and opens up his Void Storage spell and they start piling these things in there. Liz attempts to take the whole room and throws everything she can into the magically vacuumed sealed void that blocked water from flowing into it. When she gets to the bed, she throws the pillows into it and blanket. She then heads over to her room and grabs almost all of her stuff. Ryan then closes the portal, and She grabs him and teleports them back to Ana Island.

Upon reaching back to the surface Ryan starts coughing and gets a drowning feeling. All the water in his lungs is then suddenly coughed out and that burning sensation returns back to him. Liz experiences the same thing as him, but it appeared mild to her. This makes him think if she was used to this.

As their lungs get used to breathing in air again, they lay on the ground and look up at the stars.

“Thank you so much for helping me. This is a huge weight off my shoulders. I really wish we can get her bed and bring it home with us” she tells him.

“Why? It’s all muddy and icky. Plus, it’s all waterlogged.” He replies back to her.

“True, but I have money and authority. I know some people who can restore all that stuff we got back into pristine shape. All I need to do is give them a Royal letter of request and those mages and Crafters will get to work on those things just like that” she tells him with a snap of her fingers.

“Ahh that’s true. Well, the bed we need a portal for. I might be able to get Arcadia to send us a portal” he says as he sends her a prayer request. Daytona soon comes down from the sky appearing a little bigger then how it was when they left it. Ryan has a good idea and chooses to hold onto its foot, and it drags them back out over the water to the point of interest.

When they arrive, they take more potion, and dive down. When they get back inside the house Ryan prays to Arcadia for a Portal once more and suddenly a Portal opens up beside them. Liz and Ryan look at the bed and attempt to pick it up. When they do so they drag it into the portal and toss it through. Liz then points to the couch in the living room, and they run out there and pick it up and throw it through the portal. The portal suddenly closes behind them and they head up to the surface. Once at the surface they start coughing up water in their lungs and start breathing air normally. Daytona who saw them attempts to hover in place and they both grab its legs and hold on as the phoenix drags them back to Ana Island. Once at land, Daytona takes perch on one of the trees and Ryan retrieves his kite.

He then starts setting it up and weighs the wing tips down with sand and walks back to Liz.

She was laying in the sand looking up at the stars and moon feeling better listening to the waves wash ashore. As he sits down next to her, she turns her head and looks over at him. “Thank you” she says as she rolls over onto her stomach and props her head onto her hands that were resting on her elbows.

“You’re welcome. You needed to get out and have some fun tonight” he tells her.

Liz looks at him and sends him a confused look. “Not that silly. Thank you for helping get those items from the bottom of the water. I greatly appreciate it” she says.

“Oh well your welcome. That was pretty cool to go diving for the first time. I wasn’t expecting to do that tonight” He replies back to her.

Liz rolls on her back and looks up at the starry night sky again. “I just want to sleep on this island tonight. I miss sleeping to the sound of the ocean in the background every night. Liz says as she drops her wet face into the sand. She then wipes away the sand from her face and sits up. “Why did my home have to sink?” She says while reminiscing through the past.

Ryan looks at her and tries to solve the question. But he is lost on words and becomes curious himself.

“Why DID it sink? Now I’m curious myself. How the hell did they bury Ponce and his ship?” He asks her.

Liz thinks about his question and attempts to answer it.

“Let’s start from why the island is there in the first place. So what I read in the royal library, Lakes Husband, the Late King- Kevin Lake, summoned up an Alliance of mages from All over the country and basically magically lifted up the whole Island and dumped it right on top of his ship and warded it so he couldn’t get out. Legend has it that King Kevin was a great and powerful Arcane Mage, but reportedly almost was not able to get the island off the ground. He had to tap deep inside himself and strain himself of all his power. When he detached the island from the ground, the other mages helped move it into place. Sadly, Ponce was able to fire off a spell before he dropped it on him and hit him. That hit combined with him over straining himself would be the death of him. That Critical “Anchor” that they dropped on him stopped him from his unstoppable reckless onslaught. The wards that were placed under water helped seal him in place. But they had to be recharged every so often. They kept that demon in place until Bella Died. Her soul was somehow his key to freedom when he absorbed it. But damn, that breakthrough totally destroyed the island in the process and made the inlet wider.” Liz says while making a circling motion with her hands and pointing to the opening of this protected waterway.

“Hell, if that island didn’t sink this new inlet would be less ideal for ship traffic, which in turn wouldn’t have invited in the idea of building this new city marina, which wouldn’t have attracted those greedy Delanders who started this whole mess in the first place” she says while punching the sand in anger.

“Wait wow, her husband lifted the whole island up by himself? Wow that’s pretty amazing. He must have been a legend!” Ryan says in excitement.

“Yes, he was an incredible man of power. I mean Lake is in herself a powerful mage too that is supposedly on par with him I’ve been told. But I’ve never seen it” she says while getting up off the ground.

“Tell you what. I want to ride over the island one last time before we head home. Let’s go for one more ride” she tells him.

“Alright. Let me get this thing up and we shall depart” he replies to her as she walks into the water and washes off the sand on her.

Ryan launches his kite and walks over to her with his board and sits down next to her at the edge of a sandbar shelf. She gets on him and holds on. He then powers up the kite and they take off across the water. Liz reaches into his pocket and takes out his phone and decides to put some music on. She is tempted to put on some Avril Lavigne but shakes her head and thinks about that night after the island sank and tries to recall that song Ryan played when he ferried them over to the mainland on a piece of driftwood that he pulled with his kite.

“Ryan that night you rescued all of us, what song did you play while you dragged us to shore?” She asks him while they hop off the ground off a wave.

“I played All Time Low. I think one of those songs might have been “Edge of Tonight” he tells her.

She looks down at him and smiles. She looks at the phone and scrolls through some of his All Time Low Songs and comes to a song she never heard before. She taps on the song “Safe” and hopes this song will match her current mood. As the first 10 seconds of the song starts to play, she realizes she choose wisely. She then turns the volume up to Party mode and holds on tighter as Ryan speeds up and rides over the island.

She looks down and can’t see the island but knows the exact parameter and location of it by heart. She starts thinking back to when Vedra Rescued her, took her in, and started taking care of her. As she dazes out of her current reality and tries to remember all the good memories of her, she realizes that Vedra actions in the past prepared her and set her up for success. She realizes that Vedra raised her to attack trouble head on and never back down. This was important because if she didn’t take any action during the siege of Staug Queen Lake wouldn’t have taken notice and bestowed her family’s royalty back to her. She wouldn’t have this luxurious life with her new friends and her old home back without her. As she snaps out of her trance she looks down and slides down a little bit and places her feet under his legs on top of the board. She then places her head on his shoulders and hugs him tight. She felt completely destressed at this point and happy again. Daytona, who had this kind of soul bond with her, picked up on her feelings and ignites its body on fire and zooms past them. They suddenly start hitting more waves and start hopping into the air a little more.

“I think I’m done with memory lane. Let’s head home!” She tells him proudly while leaning back and placing her hand in the water and dragging it playfully.

“Okay Liz. Hold on tight. I’m changing course” he tells her. She holds on tight, and he adjusts his course toward shore. As they begin heading back, they gain even more speed and hit more wake. Ryan hits a wave just right and launches them both up 12 feet into the air. As they launch Liz screams excitedly and enjoys the smooth glide down. She then starts singing the Lyrics to this song proudly outload. As they fly off of some more waves.

When they arrive back close to shore chooses to do something ballsy. Ryan changes his approach angle upon nearing the docks. He rides upwind and launches them both out of the water really close to the docks. They glide up and over the jetty rocks and land on the sea wall, just barely. Liz gets off of him and he steps back off his board and Liz picks it up. A nosey Corrupted Official’s assistant comes stomping in with a ticket book in hand ready to start trouble.

“Hey! You need to pay the docking fee!” She yells at them.

Liz looks at this woman with her head tilted and shoots her an angry look. Ryan then chimes in “I Didn’t touch the dock; therefore, no docking fees can be applied. Thanks for playing toots, bah-bye now” he tells her rudely while waving at her and walking away with his kite still flying in the air. The woman huffs and crosses her arms in anger. Ryan goes to a clear area and Liz catches his kite for him. She then Teleports them both home. But once they get home, she grabs him by his ear and drags him straight into the bathroom for Hot Water Heater duty.

Ryan Starts heating up the water for her and the rest of the household takes a bath with her. Ryan in the meantime meets with everyone who made the kite and reports the results of the maiden flight back to them. Everyone was so happy to hear the news. He then reaches into his pocket and starts paying everyone 200 gold for their effort and time. This surprises everyone since this was a project they volunteered for. But this generous tip seriously surprised everyone.

Ryan heads back to the house and gets in the bath with the other girls and talks to them. Liz tells them about the “Bed” that was pushed through the portal and her intentions with what she is going to do with it. Ryan dips his head underwater and relaxes as all the girls talk among themselves. He gets out of the bath early and heads to bed. As he falls asleep, he is awaken by Zephyr and is told to move over. He slides over and Suddenly Liz hops in bed next to him. He suddenly realizes this wasn’t Zephyr next to him and quickly wakes up. Zephyr slides onto the other side of Liz and cuddles with her. Ryan’s arm is suddenly grabbed by Zephyr’s and is placed over Liz. She made him cuddle with them both. Not in the mood of wanting to know what’s going on, he adjusts his body and cuddles with Liz who sat in the middle of them both. Zephyr also cuddles with her, and they all end up falling asleep on top of her.
