Chapter Seven~1

Mykonos, Greece, June 15, 2019, 9:30 pm.

Theia finished the last order of the day; her phone was buzzing with notifications for her fanfic comment section. The last chapter she uploaded was a turning point in the story. She put her phone back in her pocket. She sighed while cleaning her station. Her mind kept swirling into her memories.

As far as she could remember, Theia dreamed of having a romantic love. She felt her soul missing a significant part of it that only belonged to her soulmate. The palmist's words were engraved into her heart. She told her what Eleni drew was the thread connecting her to her soulmate. She told her about specific signs when it all appeared, and then her soulmate would reveal himself to her.

She looked at her delighted customers behind her kitchen small window, thinking about when she would ever meet him.

The signs were random and somehow impossible to happen all at once or even ever. Eleni walked into the kitchen and saw Theia staring into the window. She took a dry towel and threw it at her. “You’re scaring them. Stop staring.”

“I wasn’t,” Theia said, putting the towel back in its place. “I’m just thinking.”

“About Andreas?” Eleni said, grabbing a soda from the small fridge beside her.

Theia smiled and said, “No, I just rethinking the palmist words.”

Eleni rolled her eyes. “For god’s sake, stop torturing yourself.”

“I’m not really, I just can’t let it go,” — Theia closed the window and stepped closer to Eleni — “I know what she said is completely insane and kinda impossible to happen but… I keep having these dreams… I don’t know how but it doesn’t feel like I’m dreaming, it’s more like I’m walking through someone else life that is mine.”

“What?” Eleni said, cringing.

“Since we saw the palmist, all the signs she said didn’t happen, but I had those weird dreams about me and an older guy.”

“You like old men now?” Eleni chuckled.

“Not that old, like in his late twenties. That’s not even the weird part. It didn’t feel like a dream. It’s more like a memory I’m reliving, feelings so intense that I lately can’t even differentiate if I was dreaming or awake.”

Eleni left the soda on the table and said, “What exactly did you see?”

“It’s always like short scenes, like today before you threw the water over my head, I saw myself in a different body, tanned and I had wavy black hair, I was lying on the sand and the same guy was in the water playing with a cute dog,” she looked at the floor recalling the dream. “I never saw his face, but I knew him, I knew his touch and body—”

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

“The hell Theia! is that another sex dream? Get a boyfriend. This is not healthy.”

“— it never goes to that extent, I mean I know him, I know his touch, I know his scent, every night I have dreams about him or rather scenes about me in a different body with him, it’s like I’m living a passionate love story in micro pieces, that always left me with heavy, strong love and desire for that man.” Theia looked lost and about to cry. “I miss him.”

“What?”

“I swear I don’t understand why I feel this, but I miss him… it’s like my heart is crushed and taken out of my chest, it’s weird Eleni, I saw myself being in a different life, one dream I had was about me with one old lady giving me a tiny vase as a necklace and she told me it’s the essence of my heart.”

Eleni felt a sudden electric wind run through her. She stared at Theia and said, “A tiny vase… like an amphora vase?”

“Yeah… How did you know?!”

Eleni was about to say something, but the kitchen door opened suddenly by Manos, followed by Andreas, who smiled widely when his eyes locked on Theia. “Andreas!” Eleni hugged him, ignoring Manos, who was before him.

Theia laughed at Manos's pouting face and hugged him. Eleni told them to take the drinks from the back fridge and wait for them on the rooftop. Manos told them he called the rest of their friends, and they were on their way. Eleni pushed them out of the kitchen and told them to set the place up.

Eleni looked back at Theia after they were alone again and said, “I have something to tell you that might help you with these weird dreams of yours… and also on finding your soulmate.”

Theia frowned, tilting her head, and said, “But you don’t believe in such a thing.”

“Well, I have dreams too and might be connected to yours. I’ll tell you everything after they leave.”

Loud laughter fills the restaurant rooftop along with soft music playing. The summer night started with delicious food and splendid company. Andreas flirted with Theia from the beginning of their night. He was a charming man with a beautiful face and a loving personality.

He had a crush on her since middle school. She had his heart the moment he saw her doe green eyes covered slightly with her ashy blonde hair. Andreas ended his flirtation with a small smile and shifted his attention to the rest of their friends.

Eleni got up to get them another round of drinks. Theia went downstairs with her to help her out. “How did you know about the vase necklace?” she said, walking behind Eleni, who kept quiet until they were inside the kitchen.

“I had weird dreams as well; it might be connected to yours,” — she closed the door and the windows and cautiously looked at Theia — “I had a dream about that tiny vase, please tell me everything you remember from your dream.”

Theia frowned; she had never seen that side of Eleni before. “All the dreams connected somehow. I was always a viewer of that girl’s body, living her memories, I guess. That dream was short, I walked in a street… I think it’s in Florence, and I met another girl. We were looking for a certain place, I don’t know what it was, but the girl kept saying that the place has a red door.”

Eleni stopped breathing; her heart was racing along with her brain to believe her ears. Theia crossed her arms and looked at the floor, trying harder to remember what happened next.

After a few seconds she said, “We found the place after a while, it was at the end of a long road that ends with a huge Kanzan tree with red flowers… a rounder space with the tree in the middle and a small ancient building at the far end with a bright red door and two angels sculptures on each side… and a small wooden sign with the name of the place I think… it was—”

“Vino,” both said and gasped.

“— How did you know!”

Eleni ran her fingers through her straight blushed short blonde hair and said, “This is insane! I saw exactly what you saw! I was the other girl!”

“What?!” Theia whispered.
