Donggun gradually opened his eyes. Everything was upside down. He found himself lying in an enormous-sized bed. Meritamun was sitting on a chair across from the bed, preparing some drinks.
Donggun shifted slightly on the bed, attempting to sit up, but his entire body felt broken and beaten up. Meritamun looked at him after the noise caught her attention. “Donggun,” she said with a smile.
“What happened?” Donggun eventually managed to sit up.
“You fainted,” she said as she sat down next to him, holding a blue cup with a red drink inside.
“My head hurts,” Donggun admitted, placing his hands on his dizzy head.
“Drink this, it will relieve your pain,” Meritamun said as he handed him the cup.
Donggun looked at her, perplexed. “You sound different,” Donggun observed, frowning.
“How?” she asked, staring into his puzzled eyes.
“We don’t sound the same,” Donggun said as he approached her.
“Indeed, we don’t. Addaya, the spell worked,” Meritamun said, smiling broadly.
“Great!” Addaya said from across the room, continuing with his work.
“How do we understand each other?” Donggun said, his eyes narrowed. “We don’t speak the same language,” he said, turning to face her and then Addaya.
“In the past, the elders cast a powerful spell to control minds,” Meritamun explained.
“Is that even conceivable?”
“Yes, our country has the capability to conquer the world, but we chose not to,” Addaya said.
Donggun frowned.
“They created some spells to help others who come here seeking help to make it easier to communicate, usually no one notices but the spell Addaya cast on you earlier was also a strong one,” Meritamun said as she stood up. “It activates your brain and changes how it performs; you could say it makes it faster and smarter.”
“My mind was fine! It didn’t need your spell,” Donggun grumbled.
“No offense, my friend, but you’re in the far past where you’ll see things that are hidden for the sake of humanity, and it’s a lot for your mind to manage,” Addaya said, looking at him.

Addaya’s meaning was clear to Donggun. He nodded in agreement and looked around. It was an enormous room with candles on each side of the room, and inscriptions engraved on the walls and the ground, he noticed how different it looked and knew it was spells written all over the place.
A distinct scent suddenly filled the air, drawing his attention to its source. Hundreds of blue lotuses covered most of the ground, their tone a vibrant blue that had its own lighting.
Donggun’s mind gradually began to comprehend what was going on. Meritamun smiled at him, showing off her strong dimples and pearled white perfectly aligned teeth. Donggun’s heart stopped beating as he returned his gaze to her, his mind racing with many unanswered questions.
“Are you two together?” Donggun questioned, breaking the silence. Meritamun laughed in response to Donggun’s question, and Addaya eventually stopped what he was doing and joined them on the other side of the room.
“Why you’re asking?” Addaya said.
“I’m curious,” Donggun said, slightly surprised by his obvious curiosity.
“We’re together,” Addaya said, turning to face her.
“We love each other,” Meritamun said as she moved closer to Addaya and kissed him on the lips.
“You look great together,” Donggun said, looking away, his disappointment visible.
“Donggun, do you have a special someone from your time?” Meritamun inquired.
“No, I’ve never been in love,” Donggun said, averting his gaze from hers.
“How come this beautiful face of yours hasn’t made women fall madly in love with it?” Meritamun said, clutching his face in her hands. “Don’t worry, you’ll find love soon, but now we have to get to work.”
Meritamun drew her hands back. Donggun was stunned by her bold touch and turned to look at Addaya, who was smiling fondly at them.
Meritamun began to walk, leading the way to the opposite side of the room. The side they were on was completely different; it was brighter and more gleaming, whereas the other side appeared mysterious. A narrow lake with lotus floating on its surface separated the two sides. The lake was the only thing that distinguished between the two sides.
When they arrived at the lake, Meritamun carefully placed her right leg on the other side, and her foot completely vanished, she got to the other side, and her entire body vanished in the blink of an eye.
Donggun was stunned, perplexed as to how she had vanished, but his mind was completely accepting of what was happening. “You go first,” Addaya said, pushing Donggun toward the lake. He paused for a few seconds before following Meritamun’s movements. Addaya immediately followed him. Donggun looked around and noticed a wall behind them.
“What…” Donggun murmured to himself.
“Welcome to our mystical room,” Addaya said, resting his left arm on the shoulder of Donggun, who turned around. The room they were in was much larger, darker, and more mysterious than the previous one.
When he looked up, he discovered that there was no ceiling and that it was completely dark outside, with a sky filled with shining stars and a full glowing moon. The walls were a part of the sky, with hundreds of bright golden inscriptions all over them.
The room appeared darker, but every inch of it was clearly visible; it had a long table in the middle with several papyruses and small bottles filled with liquids of vivid shades.
The entire area was lit up with candles, and there were small lakes on each corner with the same blue lotuses floating above. It appeared mysterious yet inviting. “Are you ready?”
“What exactly are we going to do here?” Donggun asked looking around again.
“We will teach you everything you need to know to be a great time traveler,” Meritamun cheerfully stated.
