Chapter Eighteen~2

Chapter Eighteen~2

Meritamun stood in the middle of the massive room filled with candles hanging on the walls as the place gradually transformed into a halo room. Meritamun’s body in a white tight-fitting sheath dress reflected in the clear lakes, and at the end of the aisle were the two squared books flying in the air. The bird walked to the flying books before disappearing into thin air.

“Where are you?” Meritamun began to walk as hundreds of blue lotuses floated on the surface of the two lakes, the rich earthy floral aromatic scent evoking a narcotic warm misty atmosphere that relaxed her a little.

Meritamun’s name was called by a soft fading female voice, and as she looked in the direction of the voice, she felt a sudden freezing wind coming from behind the two books.

She approached the flying books and stood in front of them as they moved to different sides, revealing a dark hall behind them. The same voice called her again, this time clearer and louder. Black glowing wisps emerged from the hall, completely covering her, and dragging her into the dark hall, with no sound except her terrified screams.

Meritamun opened her eyes to find herself lying on the ground in a completely different place, a massive lustrous one with gold all over it, pure gold walls, ground, and ceiling. She stood up and noticed the bird in the middle of the room while she was at the far end; a sudden vibration within the ground blurred her vision, followed by a cacophony of low-pitched rumbles and temblors in time with the ground vibrating.

Meritamun covered her ears and looked at the bird that didn’t break eye contact with her; the vibration increased. Meritamun closed her eyes repeatedly to try to clear her vision, but the vibrations were too strong for her eyes to handle. Meritamun noticed the change but couldn’t keep her eyes open, so she covered her eyes with her hands and prayed for it to stop.

Everything came to a halt; Meritamun moved her hands and stared in disbelief at the scene before her. In the middle of the room was a smiling woman wearing a golden silky dress that covered every inch of her body and a golden pectoral with a standing blue heron bird and sun disk above its head with cloisonné inlays of carnelian and malachite gemstones pinned into her dress.

“Who are you?” Meritamun spoke in a hushed tone. She couldn’t believe how similar this woman looked to her, with only three differences: her golden silky hair, her blue ocean-colored eyes, and her lack of dimples.

“I am Kiya; your mother,” Kiya said, warmly smiling at Meritamun’s puzzled expression. Kiya approached Meritamun, holding her face in her hands. “You have his beautiful eyes,” Kiya remarked.

“Whose eyes?” Meritamun spoke while Kiya’s hands lightly squeezed her cheeks.

“Your father,” Kiya chuckled.

“My…father?!” Meritamun said shockingly.

“The Bennu protect you well,” Kiya said and moved Meritamun’s black wavy hair behind her ears. “yet, you’re here and its protection is not enough anymore you must integrate with it.”

“Integrate with what? Protect me from what? who are you? You’re not my mother she’s dead, both of my parents are dead!” Meritamun said and moved Kiya’s hands away from her.

“My child it’s the Bennu effect, it protects you from my past,” Kiya said. “I will show you everything.” she was about to put her hands over Meritamun’s face but stopped when Meritamun moved her head away. “please let me show you.” Meritamun looked at Kiya with clear confusion in her eyes and then nodded her head, Kiya held her face and laid her forehead above Meritamun’s then both closed their eyes.

Hundreds of golden wisps emerged from Kiya’s dress and wrapped around both of their bodies; the wisps began to move, followed by freezing wind moving around their bodies, moving upward, and reaching their heads.

The wisps passed through Kiya’s head, covering it, before slowly reaching Meritamun’s head and penetrating it. Kiya tightened her grip on Meritamun’s head as she groaned in pain. “Open your eyes,” Kiya instructed.

Meritamun opened her eyes to find their bodies engulfed in a silent silky tornado of lustrous golden wisps; it was smooth, almost sheer, and unreal.

Several wisps slowly turned white and began to transform into a hazy memory.

Mutemwia is young and beautiful holding baby Kiya, she was caressing her shining golden hair, she smiled at someone in front of her and said, “Our beautiful golden princess Kiya.”
