The memory gradually shifted to another hazy one. Kiya, eight years old, ran into the room clutching a bouquet of white and pink flowers, while Mutemwia sat on the bed, opened her legs, and Kiya sat between them. “Can I wear flowers in my hair?” Kiya said with a broad smile. Mutemwia braided Kiya’s hair with a white ribbon, took the flowers from Kiya’s hand, and began humming a smooth long melody while carefully laying the small flowers between the braid. Kiya was humming with her mother.
The memory of a happy young Kiya was replaced by another, of Hori walking with Nebuaui to greet Kiya’s family. “Welcome to the Pharaohs’ land,” Hori said. “This is my son Nebuaui, and he will lead you throughout the kingdom.” Kiya and Mutemwia followed Nebuaui, who couldn’t stop smiling when he saw Kiya for the first time.
This one froze on Nebuaui’s smiling face and his eyes gazing at Kiya.
While other wisps turned white and showed another memory, Kiya sitting with Nebuaui in the temple garden, laughing while he told her some of his childhood stories. Hours flew by as they laughed and talked.
The wisps returned to white, and the pharaoh moved closer to Kiya, looking deeply into her blue ocean-colored eyes, and playing with her silky golden hair. When he whispered some words into her ears, she blushed and grabbed his face between her small hands, whispering the same words to him. He moved in closer, placed his lips above hers, and began kissing her passionately.
The Memory changed to another one with Kiya and the pharaoh sitting on the sand of the clear blue sea enjoying the view. She was resting her head over his fast-beating heart, relaxing in his warm embrace. As he was caressing her silky golden hair, she felt the warmth of his love lured into her heart, urging her to stay in his arms as it became the only place that felt home to her.
This affection memory froze at Kiya’s relaxed face and the pharaoh smiling into their tight hug.
Other wisps turned white and showed more stronger memory, Kiya sitting beside Nebuaui, held one of his hands and said, “I have a surprise for you.”
He smiled fondly at her and said, “What is it?”
“I’m pregnant! You’re going to be an uncle!” Kiya said and hugged Nebuaui. “I wanted to tell you before him; if it wasn’t you who made us meet three years ago, I wouldn’t be able to meet the love of my life and now carrying his child. You blessed my life Nebuaui you’re a great blessing that I thank the gods for every day,” Kiya said and laid a quick kiss on his right cheek.
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
“You deserve everything Kiya,” Nebuaui said and hugged her tightly.
This memory froze roughly; beside it, other wisps turned to dark red ones and showed yet another one. Meritamun felt heartache when this memory began to appear.
Kiya and Nebuaui were on their way to the pharaoh’s room but stopped when they saw Hori with some servant of the queen with him. Kiya called for him, he welcomed them with his famous welcoming smile.
Kiya told him her big news happily and slightly jumping from her overwhelming joy, Nebuaui watched her with nothing in his eyes but love and happiness. Hori’s smile disappeared and told the servants to wait for him in the temple. “You can tell him later; he is busy now,” he said and tapped on her shoulder.
Meritamun saw Kiya’s sad face as the last thing that memory showed. On another side of the golden wisps, another memory appeared along with pain and coldness.
Nebuaui watched Kiya’s emotionless face; he wanted her to react, to do anything but not be like that. He asked her how could be fine with not being with the pharaoh, and how could she be fine with the solution Hori had.
Kiya assured him that she accepted Hori’s solution because nothing else matters to her but the pharaoh's safety, she looked at Nebuaui and smiled at him. “At least I have a part of him with me forever,” Kiya said and held her small baby bump with her other hand. Kiya pulled Nebuaui into a hug and he hugged her tight.
The memory froze on Kiya’s smiling face and Nebuaui who looked sad and about to cry.
The next memory slowly formed next to it; fear was the only feeling Meritamun felt when the memory began to appear.
The queen's outraged talk with Hori was full of threats to him. Her status as the kingdom queen was at significant risk when the pharaoh declared his love for Kiya and his desire to make her his royal wife. She ordered him to kill Kiya and her unborn child.
“I do, your majesty,” Hori said and smirked.
Meritamun gaped, Hori was the kindest heart she ever met; how could be the reason behind her mother’s death, that memory was just the beginning of more horrifying ones.
Kiya was standing on the soft shiny sand of the alternative Rhakotis watching the sunset peacefully while rubbing her nine months pregnant belly. She looked back at the house, it got darker, and the moon took its place in the dark sky. “I think we need rest, my baby,” Kiya said to her unborn child.
Kiya approached the building, a strong hand covering her mouth, preventing air from entering her lungs, and another man appeared next to her, attempting to free her. “No! Let her go!” he yelled in a language she didn’t understand. The room was dark; she couldn’t see their faces, but the man who held her was emitting a bright blue light. “Stop!” exclaimed the other man, his voice weaker.
The man behind her quickly moved one of his hands and tangled a small shiny knife in his clothes. The man stabbed it into her back and then into her stomach in a matter of seconds. The pectoral was pinned to her dress; the man grabbed it, slammed it on the floor. Stepped on it, shattering it. The other man collapsed on the ground, half of his face covered in blood from his mouth and nose.
