Christine looked at the town she had found in a mixture of shock and fear. Due to a wall made of sharpened logs she couldn’t see too much of the town but she could still tell it was a town from what she could see over the walls. Christine could see a couple humanoid beings walking outside the walls. They looked like humans from a distance but in this place they could’ve been something else. Creeping stealthily crept along the tree line around the town she watched the town and the people she could see. She managed to sneak around the whole town and returned to the place where she had begun. She saw that the town was fully surrounded by the wall except for several doors dotted around it and a gate at the front of the town. A road led out from the gate into the forest and the gate faced roughly the opposite direction of the pond if Christine were to guess the direction.
Christine thought ‘I should head back to the log, I’ve already taken enough risks for today even though I don't know what I'm going to do with this knowledge I've acquired.'/Christine left the town and headed back to her log although she wasn’t sure she would make it back before sunset. After lightly jogging for a couple minutes she slowed down to a walk and worriedly thought, ‘something doesn’t feel right.’ She realized things were too quiet after a few seconds of observing the area. Still walking she scanned the area and saw nothing out of the ordinary but she still felt uneasy. Christine heard something and whipped her head around to see something flying towards her, she charged forward and managed to dodge it. Looking behind herself, she saw an arrow stuck into a tree. Running as fast as she could without falling, another arrow flew past her. She just kept on running without looking back but no more arrows came her way. Once Christine felt she was far enough away she slowed down from her run to a stop and took a quick break before starting off again at the pace of a jog.
After jogging for a time Christine noticed the sun was setting and then realized that she would not make it back before it got dark. Christine wondered ‘What should I do, I’m not going to be able to get to my sleeping spot before it gets dark so I might just want to find a place nearby to rest tonight. But I also want to get farther away from whoever was shooting arrows at me.' After thinking about this she finally decided to find a place to hide and rest for the night, then go back to the log in the morning. She circled around the area to look for a place to sleep, pretty soon she found a tree that she decided to rest at the base of due to a shallow depression in the dirt. Curling up, she drifted to sleep.

Christine’s eyes flew open as a sudden cracking noise sounded. She looked around and saw it was dark out. Looking for anything nearby, she noticed that her night vision was better than she expected, although it could have been even better. Christine hadn’t considered that a raptors night vision would be better than a humans and so she hadn’t been going out at night. Hearing something again pulled her away from that train of thought and she looked into the night. Despite having better night vision she couldn’t see any creatures lurking. She started sniffing for whatever it was when a single leaf fell from above and landed in front of her. Looking up, she saw something straight out of nightmares looking down at her.
Something was perched on the tree branches above her. From what she could see it was a thin long armed humanoid being that was pale, naked, and hairless. Its face had a wide mouth with lots of sharp teeth. It was clear to Christine however that whatever this was, it was not a human. After a few seconds of the two staring at each other the beast leapt down from the tree towards Christine. She sped forwards in hopes of avoiding its attack but it still clawed her back. Luckily Christine managed to get out of its grasp before it could get a good hold on her. She ran away as fast as she could hoping to get away but she could hear the creature gaining on her, with despair she realized that she wouldn’t be able to outrun this thing so she would either have to hide or fight. As she thought about this her foot hit a root that she hadn’t seen in the darkness and she fell to the ground. Looking behind her, she saw the beast leaping at her. Christine rolled onto her back as well as stuck her legs into the air and miraculously managed to do so before the beast hit her and did this in hopes that this would allow her to fight it off. Seeing what she was doing the beast tried to move out the way but still hit Christine's legs. She twisted her legs to her left to make the beast fall to the ground. She used her sickle claws to dig into it’s belly and then it started to claw her face. Christine shrieked in pain and frantically bit at the beast's throat before it could stop her. She bit through the throat, causing blood to spurt onto her. The beast gurgled and then its limbs dropped limply to the ground. Bleeding, Christine pulled away the corpse and walked just a few meters away before collapsing. She just lay on the ground for a while but soon fell asleep.
