Terrified screaming sounded through the forest and Christine’s head jerked violently in the direction of the disturbing sound. It had taken ten minutes to find a place to sleep and she was just checking the area around it for threats when the screaming started. Considering what to do for a couple of seconds, she quickly decided to investigate despite the possible danger. The raptor moved through the forest quickly but quietly towards where the scream originated. As she got closer she heard the sounds of yelling and shrieking. Christine slowed down her pace but kept on going and soon she saw them.
There were several humans battling a gray humanoid creature standing on all fours. Three of the humans were fighting the beast while two others, one of which was the one that had a mangled arm, hid behind them. The human's arm was badly mangled, making Christine feel slightly sick upon seeing it. The humans fighting the beast have a variety of weapons. One was wielding an ax, another a bow, and the last a sling with a variety of knives on their body.
Christine noticed that the creature these three were facing looked oddly similar to the creature that had jumped out a tree to ambush her. This one's looks were a little different, while the other was pale white this one was gray and few other small differences such as this one's longer snout. Though the two beasts had several differences she suspected they were of the same or at least closely related species. Although, there did appear to be one big difference between the two monsters, their power. The one that had attacked Christine would not be able to fight three normal people at once, not to mention these looked more skilled in their battle skills than your average person. She realized that this beast that she was watching could easily take her down in a fight and in fact seemed to be winning against these three humans.

Christine considered leaving before she was noticed but she pitied the humans who appeared to be going to lose although she wasn't sure what she could do to help. That was until the human with the mangled arm did something unexpected, some sort of purple light glowed in their remaining hand and then the human shouted something, the purple light somehow flew from their hand before striking the monster in it's shoulder. Where the terrifying beast had been struck, blood spurted. The creature howled in pain before locking its eyes on the purple thrower and then charging towards the human. As it charged it was going to run past the other humans and as it did the human with the sling and knives pulled out a knife. They stabbed the thing's neck viciously, or at least attempted to. Christine saw the knife’s stab but it was a shallow cut instead of a deep death blow. The monster ignored this attack and kept on going. It lept towards the human that had shot the purple thing at it. But the beast missed its target when the other human hiding behind the three yanked the purple light thrower out of the way. The beast turned to attack again when the axeman delivered a brutal chop to its neck and this time, unlike the knife, it properly penetrated. The beast howled as it collapsed jerkily. The axeman delivered another blow to the neck and it stopped shrieking, the axeman did one more chop that fully separated the head from the body.
Watching this, Christine decided now was the time to leave before the humans discovered her. Although, after that fight she suspected that even if the humans did see her, she would be able to escape. But just in case the raptor left. As she traveled to her temporary sleeping place, Christine wondered if the human with the hurt arm would survive. But she was more worried about whether more of those beasts were around and whether they might attack her. When Christine returned back to her little base, she scoured the area but found nothing dangerous, so she lay down and after a few restless minutes fell asleep.
