~Kaiser’s~

(Bloom Rondeau - Vanguard G)

It feels like I’ve been suspended forever and yet not for very long at the same time. What was the last thing I did? As I try to look around, everything is just white.

“Where am I?” I asked and got no response. Is this a dream? I started to walk around but it felt like I was going nowhere. How long have I been here? Then everything around me started to crack and then shatter. When the fragments settled, I found myself on a cliffside. Before me stretched a precarious bridge, swaying gently in a crisp, cold wind. Behind me loomed the dark entrance of a cave, an ancient sign planted beside it. ‘Crystal Garden,’ it read, its letters carved with an eerie precision. Driven by an unseen force, I crossed the bridge, the planks creaking ominously beneath my weight. On the other side, a breathtaking sight awaited me. Snow-laden white crystals jutted from the ground, glistening under a pale, ethereal light. A narrow path wove through the crystalline forest, beckoning me deeper into its embrace. As I ventured further, the air grew warmer, a stark contrast to the icy landscape outside. The crystalline pathway became more tangled with roots, gnarled and ancient, snaking across the ground. Here and there, odd seeds dangled from the ends of the roots, their purpose a mystery.

“Is this a memory or a vision?” I murmured, my breath visible in the cold air. My path ended abruptly at a grand, white door. Its surface was adorned with flowing crystals, like frozen waterfalls cascading down its sides. It stood slightly ajar, emitting a brilliant white light that pierced through the dimness. Compelled, I approached the door, squinting against the radiance. As my fingers brushed its cold surface, a voice echoed in my mind, sharp and impatient.

“I’ve waited long enough, come see me when you can,”The door swung open wider, and the light enveloped me, blinding and overwhelming.

My body jolted awake, my heart pounding against my ribs. I was back in a dimly lit bedroom, the drapes drawn tightly shut against the outside world. The warmth of the vision faded, replaced by the cool, sterile air of reality. I sat up, breathing heavily, trying to shake off the lingering sense of urgency and the haunting voice from my dream. “What was that?”

“Kaiser, you’re awake!” Someone quickly embraced me. I was still getting my bearings but they seemed to be the same size as me.

“Dexter?” I asked. When I talked I didn’t recognize my voice. How long was it since I last spoke?

“Don’t speak,” He let go of me and reached for a glass on the nightstand. “Drink up,” he says and I take the glass from him. I slowly drank the whole thing, noticing I was dehydrated. When I looked back at Dexter I saw tears in his eyes. “I’m so glad you’re okay. I started to lose hope after a week, I knew you would wake up,” he was excited to see me awake. I could see his tail wagging a bit behind him as tears started to stream down his face.

“How long was I asleep?” My voice felt better this time. I noticed Dex sucked his teeth as if unwilling to share the answer.

“You were unconscious for three weeks. We are currently in the third week of April,” he looked to the side avoiding eye contact. This shocked me and I opened my ORB screen and it was April twenty-first a Wednesday.

“Where’s Kenta?” I asked if he was okay.

“He’s downstairs training. He and I have been taking turns watching over you,” he admitted. As much as I’m thankful for that I feel like there was a bit of arguing here and there. After a bit of silence, Dexter got off me and I got out of bed. Deciding to clean myself and change my clothes. After my shower, I noticed a lot of my injuries had healed and I was scared. Luckily it’s hidden by the fur but the light red bloodstains I’ll never get out. As I changed and exited the bathroom Dexter was looking out through the window.

“What happened at the Spear Pillar?” He kept his gaze locked outside. As he asked his question a million thoughts ran through my head. I was unsure if I should share what happened out of fear it would make me look crazy. Do I share that my power is still uncontrolled and he uses that against me down the line in an official match? He turned to me with a hurt expression. “I thought so,” he shook his head as he sat on the bed. “You always hesitate with me to share what you’re thinking though you don’t second guess with Kenta. Even though we’re all on separate teams you trust him more than me,” he sounded defeated.

“It’s not like you are a close friend and a rival to me,” I admitted unwillingly. It came out of my mouth before I could think.

“Kaiser, I want to be more than that to you since day one I’ve wanted to be more than a friend to you,” Dexter admitted. “I put on many different personas in the hope it would attract you but nothing seemed to work. I invited you to Hoenn so we could spend time together. I’m here because of my clue but my clue could apply to anyone I call a friend but I wanted to be with you. With every match we have I feel closer to you but the trust isn’t there,” Dexter started to vent. “I’m very much in the public eye and yet none know of the major crush I have on you,” he admitted.

“Dexter…” I was unsure what to say. Silence rang in the room; the only thing you could hear was the TV in the background.

“I knew it deep down somewhere I knew the feeling wasn’t mutual,” he sighed as he got up. I could see the tear in his eye as he walked towards the door. “Please do me a favor and forget I said all of that,” he wiped his tears before reaching for the door.

“Wait!” I shouted out of reflex but then the door unlocked and behind it was a Cinccino and a Dragonite.

(Planet Wisp & Chill Sonic Lofi - Sonic Colors)A/N: Kenta’s final theme

“Kaiser, we came as soon as Dexter said you were awake,” Kenta shouted as he ran up and hugged me.

“I’m glad to see you’re alive,” I was alarmed by the feminine Dragonite.

“Clair?” I asked, trying to recognize her.

“Good to see your memory intact,” she chuckled. “When I saw you and Kenta, with you on his back at Spear Pillar. I knew something was wrong,” Clair sat on the couch. I noticed Dex sat back down on the bed. I assume he didn’t want to make it awkward by leaving.

“It wasn’t pretty but you’re here with us,” Kenta cheers.

“I need to go back to the mountain,” I said plainly and I could see the weird looks I was getting from everyone in the room. As if why would I return to the place where I fainted on the spot, but I don’t need them to understand.

“Why? Last time you were there you almost died!” Dex growled at me from the bed. Clair and Kenta looked at him shocked.

“I need to go to the Crystal Garden. Something is waiting for me there,” I think about the voice talking to me in my dream.

“I can tell you what’s waiting, your death,” Dexter’s voice was full of venom. “Since you don’t know a lot of rouge teams have been plaguing the area making it difficult to travel the mountain,”

“Dexter!” Kenta tried to scold him but Clair held him back

“I am on a team myself and a leader for that, I can handle myself,” I retorted, getting slightly angry. As I got angry my hair started to flow almost as if I was unconsciously using my powers of malice.

“Really?” Dex questioned. “If you can beat me go ahead and go to the Crystal Gardens but if you can’t. You will force your team to drop out of the league this season,” Everyone jumped at Dexter’s deal.

“You’re crazy, everyone, let's calm down. He’s just bluffing to get you to stay,” Kenta tried to do damage control and I appreciate it.

“He’s not bluffing and I won’t back down. I’m this close to finding out the truth and no one will stop me,” I declared. Dex shook his head and got off my bed.

“Our battlefield awaits,” he opened the door and I swiftly followed behind him.

~Dexter’s~

I thought he would back down when I gave him the ultimatum. His determination is scary now. Will it be enough to give him a victory over me? Even if he does lose, will it give me the confidence to ask him out after all of this is over? Why is he such a prize to you is it because he is different? Like me, everyone treats me differently because I am shiny. I’ve never seen anyone like him before when we met in Mistralton City. How could you not pay attention to him? Then our time together didn’t help although a short introduction we met again when we were older, he had grown up but had an air of mystery as well like he had to hide something. Everything he does is so cute but when I try to show him I care I get shot down. Maybe he doesn’t like me back, I should let this go and let him go to the Crystal Gardens. I shake my head as I already know the answer to all of these questions. However, am I ready to share them with him?

We then made it to the battlefield outside the ski resort and I was staring down Kaiser on the opposite end of the field.

(Pokemon B&W Low Health Remix - Zame)

“I challenge Kaiser Luna to a one-on-one duel!” I announced and my ORB screen lit up to confirm and I clicked the button. Kaiser accepted my challenge and a timer started its countdown. “Remember our conditions from earlier?” I asked.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

“Yeah, you were pretty clear,” Kaiser looked annoyed as if I was in his way. Which I was but I need him to understand this is my way of showing I care. Is it a little selfish to make his whole team drop out, yes but maybe I can go with something else once the fight is done.

‘3.. 2.. 1, Battle Begin!’ the automated voice announced. With the blink of an eye, the scenery around us changed to that of the Mistralton City Wishing Bell Festival. When Kaiser and I had our first fight. Kaiser didn’t flinch at the scene change. I do know he possesses illusion abilities however he focused more on his malice than an illusion. He stood there and I noticed his stats had risen. MY ORB screen pops up showing he had used Nasty Plot. In the illusion, a crowd of Pokemon walked onto the battlefield and I was able to hide in the chaos.

“Don’t hide from me,” his voice was baseless as if he had become a husk. I notice a ball of pure fighting spirit pieces the crowd and is heading towards me. “Your illusions do nothing if I know it’s an illusion,” Kaiser grunts. I dodge easily going in close. He looked ready to attack again and now is my chance. I blitz him and strike him in the stomach using Sucker Punch. He slid back and I used the chance to change the scenery to that of the first round of the Wishing Bell Festival when the two of us were having fun solving the questions.

“These aren’t illusions, they are memories of you and me,” I respond and it’s my turn to me on offense as he moves to get closer a vine appears and trips him. That’s my Grass Knot. He trips and now is my chance again. Three balls of light float around my claw. Once I land this Confuse Ray it’s all over for Kaiser.

“Get away from me,” It sounded as if he was getting angry. Why is he mad? I'm pouring my heart out over here. That’s when he unleashed a high-frequency scream in my direction. I fell to my knees as I did my best to cover my ears. The Hyper Voice was enough to break my illusion and show us on the battlefield again. Eventually, it stopped and Kaiser got back up ready to fight.

“You should work better on your illusions if they break that easily,” Kaiser lectured me.

“I don’t think you should lecture me, I’m leagues above you in strength, talent, and skill!” I snapped. “Most would faint at the thought of me pinning for them!” My true selfishness is showing and I don’t care.

(Victory is Right Before Your Eyes! - Alpha Remaster)

“I’ve been a promising young star since I entered my teen years, No one’s on me and my team level! You should be happy I’m even here with you! I’m making it to the Crystal League no matter what happens but are you confident in yourself and your team? We all saw what happened with Ignis and Silver right,” I teased Kaiser.

“Shut up!” He charged at me with his claws glowing white. “So this is the real you, I knew you were hiding something,” Kaiser accused. I countered using Sucker punch to block his attack.

“Think of it as an illusion and you were the one who finally made me drop this farce,” I chuckle with a smirk. “However everything I said and how I feel about you is the same, you and I are very unique Pokemon, plus you're hot,” I winked as I pushed him back. Using my power of Illusion I made it seem like two of me were in front of him and struck him with a Throat chop. That was the kicker to send him tumbling across the battlefield. “I’ll be honest the reason why I’m here isn’t because my clue told me to. ‘You must learn to care for others, for you to proceed in this competition you must help someone deemed as a close friend to you,’” I recited my clue to him as he got up. “How the committee knew who I deem as close friends is beyond me. Though on that list were my teammates and a few others you don’t know, but then at the bottom were all the members of Team: Ragnarok. This whole scavenger hunt is about growth but I could give a shit about that and do what I want,” I sneer. I then was in shock when I started to see two Kaisers, when did he start to create an illusion?

“I think I heard enough from you,” Kaiser growls, and I never heard him do that before. One of him shoots a focus Blast while the other charges at me with his claws glowing white. “You’re arrogant and conceited,” he started as he attacked me again with Aerial Ace and I countered with Sucker Punch. “Thinking you are miles above everyone just because you look different, I had to train to get to this point,” Kaiser continued. He jumped back as the copy blasted me with multishot Focus Blast. I did my best to dodge but I got hit a few times, sending me sliding back. “I’m glad you see me as a close friend but if this is what you really are some things will need to change for us to keep up this friendship,” I rolled my eyes at his words.

“I hate how you hyper-analyze everything. Is this your Autism?” I scoff.

“You can’t just say that!” Kenta yelled from the sidelines.

“Stay out of it, sidekick!” I was bitter at this point and tired of everything. “So, what do you think of the real me? Not something I can show to the media or Pokemon of the world,” I laughed at the situation but he made me play my cards.

“I’m not a fan, but I see you as my friend and currently an obstacle in my way!” Kaiser shouted as the illusion disappeared showing one Kaiser. A veil of darkness surrounded him as he howled out and a veil of shadow enveloped me. While trapped all I felt was cold and constant pain growing within me.

“AHHHH!” I shouted out for not being a very effective move. As the veil spit me out I was left with the frostbite condition but that didn’t matter as I could barely stand. I fell to the ground.

(Tokoha's Fight - Vanguard G)

‘Winner Kaiser Luna!’ the automated voice said. I thought I could never lose. I hadn’t felt like this in a long time. ‘Scavenger hunt completed for Dexter Shade, one of three clues completed for Team: Fusion’ seems in doing this fight I completed my clue. I hear footsteps and I’m sure it’s Kaiser walking up to me.

“I’ll be going now,” he paused. “Now that I know who you really I won’t share it with anyone, but as rude as you are I think I prefer this over what you showed me,” I looked at him shocked.

“How? Even my teammates prefer when I’m fake,” I looked Kaiser in the eye. He had a smile on his face as he helped me up.

“How can you know someone if their whole existence is fake, plus I used to live with Reuben, he's mean and crude,” Kaiser laughed at the mention of Reuben. “Though you could use a few blows to that overconfidence of yours and your ego,” Kaiser acknowledged.

“Yeah you may be right,” I sighed. I wanted to apologize for everything I said but I couldn’t bring myself to do it.

“It was a nice fight, both of you, more happened than anticipated but I think both of you can learn from this,” Clair walked up to the two of us alongside Kenta.

“I knew there was a reason I didn’t like you but I guess this is a reset for you,” Kenta plays with his tails as he talks. As we all exchanged what happened in today's fight Kaiser looked ready to move on.

“I’ll be heading for the heart of Mount Coronet,” Kaiser announced.

----------------------------------------

~Kaiser’s~

(Area: Planet Wisp - Sonic Colors)

After the fight with Dexter, I made my way back to Mount Coronet looking to find the Crystal Garden. Everyone decided to join me but the other felt uneasy about Dexter. Honestly, nothing feels different. It was obvious every time Silver would tease Dex for acting differently and I see why. As we were wandering through the mountain there were a bunch of holes as if someone was drilling into the mountain.

“Reports say you can find Empowerment seed all over Mount Coronet and it will make the area glisten and show you the way to the exits, but right now I see nothing,” Clair commented. Empowerment seeds I remember it having to deal with something back in Virbank with Team: Majesty. They never were declared a rogue team so they were sent there on a quest. I shouldn’t ponder that now as I’m so close to figuring out what happened when I died.

“I think we’re here,” Kenta said. We reached a cliff and there was a bridge leading to the other side where crystals resided beautifully. There was a pathway leading to the giant white doors from my dream.

“Everything is just like my dream,” I whispered.

“Huh?” Kenta asked.

“Has he gone crazy?” Dexter jumped in. I started to run across the rotten wooden bridge, I was so close to the answer.

“Kaiser, be careful!” Kenta shouted. I didn’t care as I kept running. As I did I could see the white lite trickling through the doors. I’m almost there. The doors were slowly starting to open as I made my way across the bridge. That’s when many Pokemon jumped out of hiding being Galvantula. I didn’t care to know why they were here and I only had one goal which was getting to those doors. I took a deep breath as I ran and shouted a loud Hyper voice as I ran past my attackers. At this point, the door was wide open and through it all I saw was white. No matter. I’m not afraid to look for answers. I ran straight in and as I looked behind me I couldn’t see a door anymore. Now I was starting to get scared.

(Classroom of the Elite 3rd - Masaru Yokoyama)A/N:New Theme of Damon Hagane

“Welcome to the land where nothing exists,” A deep voice welcomed me. I then noticed something start to appear before me and it was none other than the legendary Pokemon Dialga. I was shocked to behold such a being. “I’m Damon Hagane and welcome home Kaiser Luna,” I then was finally able to put it together.

“You were the one who has been leading me here,” I accused the time dragon

“Guilty as charged,” he answered.

“Don’t forget about me,” A feminine voice intervened. That’s when another being started to manifest itself. It was the space dragon Palkia. “I helped out in this reunion and my name is Paula Nami, don’t forget it,” She scolds me.

“What would two legendary Pokemon want with me?” I was surprised to be meeting two members of the origin trio.

“Normally we don’t intervene in others' affairs but it couldn’t be helped as our father started meddling in your family affairs, to begin with,” Damon answered me but I was still confused.

“Arceus had something to do with your father's disappearance, plain and simple,” Paula shrugs.

“Is he here?” I was a bit excited.

“No, however, there is someone who’s been dying to meet you,” Damon said as another Pokemon began to manifest in this bizarre domain.

“I can’t believe the time has come where I get to see my sweet Kaiser Luna,” a Zoroark with a feminine voice ran up and hugged me. It was a tight hug and all I could do in response was lightly hug her back.

“Meet Cherise Luna, your mother,” Paula explained. This woman is my mom, she looks practically my age.

She lets me go “Oh you’ve grown so much since I’ve seen you last. You look a lot different too. No wonder I couldn’t find you in the blizzard,” she looked sad. “It felt like a few months ago I lost you and was brought here,” my mom still looked sad.

“I think there is a bit for the two of you to catch up on, if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask for anything,” Damon said as he and his sister faded away leaving me with my mom.

Before anything was said my ORB screen opened ‘Scavenger hunt completed for Kaiser Luna two of three clues completed for Team: Ragnarok’ the automated voice said.

“I’ve missed you so much, I can’t wait to hear about your adventures,” a table manifested beside us and my mom gestured for me to sit down.

(Towards a Dream(Piano Version) - Persona 5 Scramble)

“Let's move! The Crystal Garden isn't safe,” Clair commanded as we all sprinted towards the exit, with a swarm of Galvantula hot on our heels.

“What about Kaiser?” I shouted, trying to keep up.

“We all saw him disappear when he crossed a certain point in the garden,” Dexter replied, his voice tense. I couldn't help but puff my cheeks in frustration; he was right, but it didn't make the situation any less concerning. Kaiser had just vanished. Where could he have gone? Kaiser, please be safe, wherever you are.

“Once we're out of here, we can plan our next move and deal with the rogue Pokémon while we search for Kaiser,” Clair reassured us, her tone steady despite the chaos. "For now, we need to work together if we want to see our friend again," she added, her voice sharp with urgency. Her words were a scolding reminder that, despite our differences, we had to unite in this moment.

“I’ll put our differences aside but after all of this is done I want to fight you one on one,” I seriously. While I pride myself on being a tactician, I can fight, and after watching your battle with Kaiser, I think I've found a way to win.

“You’re on pipsqueak,” Dexter shot back with a smirk as we continued sprinting toward the exit.

Action: So that was a lot today. We have another chapter to go through with this quartet. What will happen next?

Kaiser: How was I reborn?

Action: We’re getting there.

Dexter: How do you guys like the real me?

Kaiser: Better honestly.

Kenta: I feel the same as before.

Clair: You do you.

Dexter: That’s a shock, whatever, y’all are lame anyway.

Clair: We’ll see you next time, bye!
