(MAKUAKE (Instrumental) - Digimon Ghost Game)
“In the latest news, it seems rogue teams are on the rise as Unova is a breeding ground for them. Quests have been posted for teams to help clear the region of the teams causing havoc. The two leading rouge teams are Rogue Team: Venom and Rouge Team: Cats Cradle as their number has grown over the years. In better news, the league will be running again as in the next ten months teams will try to qualify for the Crystal League. We already have a team that qualified being last year's reigning champs Team: Iron a team who hasn’t lost in the last seven years can they bring out another win this year?” I mentally tuned out the news feed from my ORB as I continued to practice. With both Kenta and Reuben gone to Accumula Town, they left me behind. As they left I decided to make them feel bad leaving me behind and their reactions were not what I expected. They said if I asked I could’ve joined so my mission backfired. I’m not from Unova and had no family anywhere near here so I decided to take a trip down Victory Road. Drayden talked about how before we had the academy league we had an elite four and champion of each region. That was over fifty years ago and that makes me question the dragon's old age. If I had to guess he is in his seventies. Leaving that side note alone I left for Victory Road not too long after my teammates left and have been camping out for the last three days. I’ve encountered many Pokemon, some competing in the academy while others here on adventure. I even came across a team on a mission but didn’t care to bother them.
I decided it would be good for me to travel further up Victory Road and pass the old badge gates. It’s weird how futuristic this area is. For you to pass all eight badge gates you had to obtain gym badges, a thing lost to time. I’m sure Kenta would love to study this. As I walked through the area I could tell the gates weren’t activating. I wondered when was the last time they had maintenance? I wonder why they would have futuristic gates like this in the middle of the forest? That’s when I noticed there was an awkward ruin here. Crumbling walls and stone scatter all across the area.
It seems out of place. I then saw two Galvantula walk from behind one of the ruined walls and instantly hide. I noticed on their backs were Pokemon trapped in their electric webbing. Crap, I didn’t expect to run into Cats Cradle again. I thought they were based in Chargestone Cave. They are electric spiders and like cave live areas, however, to my knowledge, nothing in these ruins gives off electric currents they can feed on. Damn, and I don’t have Ark here to scan the area like last time. I don’t think I can handle this by myself and my best chance of survival would be running. I then got mad at myself for thinking that, I told myself I would never run again after I left that Asshole. I turned to look at the electric spiders again and they disappeared down some stairs to a cave. I must follow them but just in case I will send out a distress beacon to the Opelucid City gym. I know Ark didn’t leave as he thought it would be good to enjoy what Opelucid had to offer by himself. I then got an instant response from Headmaster Ice.
(Lively Cyber Detective - Digimon Story)
“I sent out a response and a team in the area is coming your way, be safe,” his video message then cut out. That old dragon likes to keep things brief. I then followed the spiders in the cave. Of course, it’s hard to see down here. The only light is the sun bleeding through the cracks of the ceiling even then it’s dim here. Walking down the steps nothing seemed out of order. The constant dripping of water to the body of water below the pathway of this ruins. Looking the best I could it seems like this was a former castle. Only if Kenta was here his knowledge would be useful. Pulling up my ORB map it says I’m in the remains of Natural Harmonia Gropius’s Castle otherwise known as N’s Castle. Who the hell is N. Says it’s a fifty-year-old relic that collapsed after the war of heroes fifty years back. That’s when my nose caught wind of something. I’m glad I’m a Stoutland as my species are good at rescues. It’s weird to me. I can smell Pokemon in the area, but it is over the edges of the paths and towards the water. Looking over the edge I saw nothing. Where did those spiders go?
“Carter! Look out!” I turned around instantly and a Galavantula was about to attack me. I quickly thought on my feet and countered by comping down on the spider's front feelers and throwing them off the ledge. Looking from where the voice came from I saw three Pokemon running down the stairs to meet me. Though I was halfway in the ruins already it would be a bit before they would reach me. That’s when I noticed the red eyes on the ceiling and some descending to the floor. Yet I still couldn’t find any of the missing Pokemon. Seems like fighting is inevitable. I prepared myself by hyping myself as a red aura flared around me. I used Crunch and Work Up, I need to conserve my other moves until I know the other Pokemon I’m working with. Another spider came at me this time shooting a ball of electricity my way and I had to jump back only for another one to be behind me. Not good. This oneshot electric webs at me, but for some reason, it retracted back and was absorbed by one of the Pokemon that answered my distress beacon. “Stay away from him!” Flames were then blasted at the spider as it used its webbing to climb back up to the ceiling. That’s when I recognized the voice of my defender.
“Vincent!” I was shocked and the other two must be his teammates.
“Did he just call Gale, Vincent?” The silver Ninetales said blasting another Galvantula.
“No time for a reunion we can chat later,” A guy similar to Kaiser arrived but his hair was contained and tied back. Not to mention it was purple and he had black fur. He was right. Right now I need to focus and show that I’m still capable.
“Hope you three can keep up,” I growled as the onslaught of spiders came at us. I have to show that I am capable and that they are my backup dancers on this stage. I charged in as we were now surrounded by spiders chomping my way through and plowing some of them into the water below. From what I can sense there are no ice webs meaning Vesca isn’t here. This must be a base of operations post for them but what are they doing here? Another Galvantula tried to attack me letting out a screech and I had to cover my ears. That’s when I got double-teamed and another spider attacked me from my side.
“Carter!” I heard a scream and I could tell you who was worried.
“Stay out of this!” I was angry. I don’t need his protection after he left me alone for years. I’ll show him I’m strong. I tried to retaliate by using Crunch on the spider that attacked me but I missed. My eyes grew wide as I missed my mark. Not now, in front of him I have to be strong and show I don’t need his protection. That’s when I started stomping on the pathway continuously in a fit of rage. My body felt warm and I opened my eyes. I didn't notice I closed. I was cloaked in a light brown aura. Am I learning Stomping Tantrum? I then noticed shards of rocks were going everywhere at the Galvantula. I did learn Stomping Tantrum. The fun thing about this move is that if your previous attack missed its power is doubled. A lot of the Galvantula started to faint and retreat. I enjoyed the feeling of being strong. I was proud of my power and I smirked looking towards Gale. All he had was a smile on his face while looking at me, which pissed me off. That’s when I heard muffled screams and it sounded as if they were coming from below us.
“Look they are hanging from underneath the walkway,” The shiny Zoroark ran to the ledge. I did the same and looked under the ledge. He was right at first glance you wouldn’t notice with how dark it is. The Pokemon were encased in webbing and swaying from side to side. If I continued to use my attack one of them could have died. I then felt guilty knowing I could have screwed up this impromptu rescue mission.
“We’ll call the nearby gym,” the Ninetales joined us. “They said they would handle the rest,” his tone was so cold compared to when I last met him or is it just me? Studying the remaining team members I remember them now. Dexter Shade and Silver Princeton. Team: Fusion a master rank team currently taking a break from the league to take on quests. Why are they in Unova?

(Blinded By The Light - FFXIII)
It’s time for the challenge. Headmaster Ice is waiting for us. For the time being, we are in the locker room and have already gone over our strategy meeting. Drayden said we have some special guests spectating today. I’m guessing Reuben and the rest of Team: Basic want to sit in as they are challenging Headmaster Ice tomorrow.
“Make sure you don’t slow me down out there, it’s me who is center stage today,” Ignis was brimming with confidence as he wrapped bandages around his wrists.
“Don’t get cocky,” Ark tugged on one of his tails, and the fox yipped. “This is a team effort after all,” my Lucario teammate smiled at me.
“Ark’s right,” I separated the two. Ignis brushed the now matted fur on his tail. “Let’s get master 's rank together!” We all cheered ready to face the legendary ice type. We all walk out of the locker room and are met on the Opelucid gym battlefield where Headmaster Ice is waiting for us. There were bright lights aimed at the battlefield to help the spectators see. I took the time to scout the area. Next to Team: Basic were three unfamiliar Pokemon. A shiny Zoroark, a Manectric, and a shiny Ninetales.
“Is that?” Ignis was cut off.
“Team: Fusion, yes,” Ark answered.
“How did you know?” I asked.
“Their auras are a bit different but similar to when we first met them,” Ark answered.
“The three of you should be focused on the opponent in front of you and not who’s watching,” the old dragon growled in his deep voice. It caused the three of us to instantly give him all of our attention.
“We didn’t forget about you, Headmaster, but soon you won’t have to see us for a while,” Ignis said in a playful tone. The old dragon looked confused.
This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.
“Going somewhere?” He raised a brow.
“We’ll be getting our master rank,” The three of us said together. The old dragon laughed in response.
“I like today’s energy. Let’s put your money where your mouth is,” he let out a hardy laugh. “You three know the drill. You get the first move,” He stood there in a neutral position as if he could withstand anything coming his way.
“Fast break!” I shouted and we all got into position. Ark blitzed towards Ice both his feet in a blaze ready for a drop kick. I could see the shock in the old dragon’s eyes as Ark’s Blaze kick connects but it left him completely vulnerable.
“Have you kids not learned from your mistakes!” The old dragon shouted. “I’m not weak to fire-type moves!” A bunch of thick Ice shards appeared floating around us. One was going straight for Ark and I came to his defense. My eyes glowed a light blue as I picked up Ark. I tossed him to the side as Ice shards were now chasing after me, however, I was able to evade the onslaught of ice.
“Ignis, your turn!” I shouted as I dodged the last shard of ice. The fox wore a smirk as a huge ball of fire was unleashed towards Ice. My turn, my eyes returned to normal and I charged and unleashed a blue ball of pure power at Ice. He put up two thick shards of Ice as a defense, but the two attacks broke through the ice walls colliding with the Headmaster. Even though he got hit it seemed like we barely did anything.
“Nice work landing three attacks, I remember the first time when you couldn’t land any” The old dragon laughed. That’s when we noticed the battlefield getting coated in a thick haze. I could feel the rapid drop in temperature. I could no longer see my teammates in the thick fog but if we try to locate each other by shouting that will out our location to Headmaster Ice. I took the time to think of a plan and then it hit me that if he plans to pick us off one by one we can use the sounds of others fighting to locate one another. As I was planning I could feel my power rising, no one would think Nasty Plot would work in such a way. I’ve used Detect, Focus Blast, and Nasty Plot. The last move in my arsenal is one I don’t like to use. That’s when I noticed in the fog yellow eyes, I was the Headmaster’s first target. I could hear the crunch of him shifting his wings which meant he was either going to transform or attack me with his ice connectors. My second guess was right. I could see beams of ice coming my way. I made my eyes glow blue as it was the best way for me to avoid getting attacked. However, keeping up the move Detect is a different story. One thing I noticed is blasts from his wings are silent which makes this harder for me to locate where he is attacking from. Almost as if he’s attacking me from all directions.
This onslaught keeps going and he has broken our communication, as I leader I need to rally my team. What should I do? The answer came to me whether I liked it or not. I could feel my evasiveness fading as I was struggling to keep up my Detect.
“You’re all mine!” The ground shook as the battlefield started to spew molten rock from the creases. The instant heat from his Earth power caused the haze to fade away and I could see he hit all of us with his attack. He was in the center of the battlefield and we all surrounded him in the form of a triangle. No wonder he was able to attack us so easily. This isn’t good, we only landed three attacks on this dragon. We need to win, we need to win, we need to win. I got up from the ground and the only thing on my mind was winning.
“Get up!” I shouted. Headmaster Ice’s attention was now on me and I could see he was intrigued. “We need to win! It is now or never!” I got clouded in a shadowy aura.
“Is this a new power? I’ve never seen this before,” The old dragon then had a red flame go into his tail as everything around him glowed a bright red. As the flames disappeared it revealed him in his Kyurem white form and this time he connected his cords to his tail.
“That’s Kaiser’s ability Malice, but when did he get hit with a status?” Ark sounded concerned. I then felt a bit of pain in my arm and I looked at it. Seems like I got frostbite status, I thought I was the only one.
“Let’s see how strong you are,” the old dragon charged up a giant ball of fire above his head and brought it down towards me.
“Kaiser!” both Ignis and Ark shouted.
“No need to worry, I’ll make sure we won’t lose!” I shouted and my power started to flow freely. I howl as the shadow aura consumes the Fusion Flare. With the help of Nasty Plot, it should be strong enough to consume Headmaster Ice’s power paired with my ability. With the two moves clashing it caused the Fusion fire to explode within my Bitter Malice.
“Damn, you’re stronger than you look. You old bag,” I sucked my teeth.
“Seems like this ability also alters your attitude. This is new,” the old dragon sounded impressed.
“I can show you more too,” I licked my lips ready for a fight when my arm hurt again.
“Kaiser, wait!” Ark and Ignis came to my side and I grunted. Ark started to use Heal pulse on us so we could keep our energy up. Ignis pulled up our stats for the fight while I kept looking out in case Headmaster Ice decided to attack.
“All of Kaiser’s stats are up by two, however, his special attack is up by four. Ark, you have no increased stats and for me, I have my special attack up by two,” he gave us the analysis. “Headmaster Ice has sixty percent of his energy left,” He shared the other info.
“Kaiser, remember don’t let Malice control you as you wield the power, not the other way around,” Ark tried to remind me. This power feels so good, like the power of a leader how could I not use it to its full extent? “Remember the plan,” he reminded me. I did nod but I want to keep going.
(Ryusei Toshi (Off vocal) - Dragalia Lost)A/N: Theme for a tough fight
“If you’re done with your tea party you have an exam to fail,” he taunted us.
“Fast Break!” I shouted and everyone blitzed again. With Ark using Extreme speed he was gone in the blink of an eye leaving me and Ignis to charge Headmaster Ice head-on. As we were running his power started to extend itself as he was cloaked in a grayish white. That’s when beams of gray-white were aimed at us. Some came in contact with the battlefield and I saw it burn and then freeze. His signature move in white form Ice Burn.
“Time to show you our new tactics!” Ignis shouted. I knew he’d be ready. He's been absorbing light through his tails this whole time and unleashed a full-force Solar Beam at one of Ice’s attacks. Doing my best I boosted the power of his Solar Beam with multiple Focus Blast. That’s when Ark finally hit the old dragon with Extreme Speed and made our way to us to use Aura Sphere.
“Battle Tactic Element Canon!” The green from Solar Beam and the blue from Focus Blast and Aura Sphere fuse to create a rainbow effect with all the raw power. The reason it puts a lot of stress on Inis is he is controlling the flow of power and if he breaks concentration it will explode and reject him. Our Tactic collides with Ice’s Ice Burn creating a cloud of smoke alongside an explosion.
“We’re not done!” Extending the power of my Malice to the sky it cloaked the whole battlefield to make it dark as night in the whole gym. “Terrain change: Abyss!” I shouted. The old dragon didn’t look shocked by the terrain change; instead blue energy went into his tail and he got cloaked in blue electricity as sparks started to fly across the battlefield. As he was transforming I could feel the pain in my arm again. I can’t last much longer in this fight. The sparks disappeared revealing his black form as he connected his cords to his tail.
“This is my final form, defeat me and you will be one step closer to your goal,” Unlike his earlier demeanor he snarled like a wild animal.
“Let’s end this,” Ark stated and we agreed. This time Ice was more active and constantly all three of us were at one with ice and electricity.
“Kaiser, I’m ready,” I knew what he meant immediately.
“Ark, keep him busy,” Instantly the Lucario used Extreme Speed to attack and evade. Using my aura I created three pockets. With each pocket, Ignis launched a Fire Blast, a Solar Beam, and a Shadow Ball to which they all got trapped in my aura. I then morphed them into tiny balls that float at my side. With that said Ignis fell to the ground completely out of energy. “Ark it’s time!” I shouted and tossed one of the balls at Ark and he caught it.
“Battle tactic Dark Night!” Grabbing one of the balls myself I got in close to Headmaster Ice and punched him and a Fire Blast exploded on his chest. When Ark hit him a ball of complete darkness exploded on his back. I tossed the last ball up above the dragon. Both Ark and I jumped up grabbing it and unleashing the power of the Solar beam on Headmaster Ice. As we landed I fell to my knees completely out of energy to the point that I wasn’t able to keep up with the Abyss. Looking at the Headmaster he was forced out of his transformation and returned to normal. He was sprawled out on the ground breathing heavily.
“The victor of the Master rank-up match is Team: Ragnarok!” Drayden announced from the sidelines and everyone cheered for our victory. Truly I wish I could enjoy our victory as I am very sleepy and everything went black.

(Towards the Goal of Hope! - Inazuma Eleven Go Galaxy)
“We did it!” Everyone cheered as we got in the hot spring water. We all decided to celebrate our success in gaining master rank by going to a hot spring in Opelucid City. Team: Fusion even joined us. Though it’s been a week since that victory and we needed our rest. Not to mention Team: Basic succeeding as well. All three teams are here except for Ignis, who said he’d rather celebrate by himself. Sad that he didn’t want to join us. It would be a good time for us to reconnect with Team: Fusion. Everyone was conversing with each other. It was cute to see Kenta only dipping his feet in as he admits it’s hard to take care of his fur because of its natural oils. He was chatting with Gale as Reuben was beside them. Carter, Ark, and Silver were chatting however, it seems like Ark and Silver have some kind of rivalry going. Old beef dies hard I guess.
“You’re being so creepy right now observing everyone,” The shiny Zoroark beside me laughed.
“I’m just glad to see everyone enjoying themselves. If it’s a crime let me know,” I retorted.
“Here I am thinking you’d lose the pole up your butt after five years and especially in that fight you had but here we are,” he shook his head and I couldn’t help but blush in response.
“The nerve!” I shouted and caught myself. I submerged myself in the water so I could hide my blush. Dexter laughed at my expense.
“I wanted to ask you a question?” he caught my attention again but I averted my gaze.
“I’m listening,” I said. I then heard a chuckle.
“Look at me,” I did as he told me and met his eyes. His yellow gaze is almost addictive, but I can’t tell why. He wore a smirk and seeing half of his chest in a setting like this made me feel even more embarrassed but I didn’t break eye contact. “Since you have a master rank as well, you should come to Hoenn sometime. You never know maybe your scavenger hunt will bring you there,” he chuckled.
“I’m not sure I haven’t got our first clue yet,” I was hesitant.
“I don’t think you are getting the implications of what he is asking,” Silver interrupted. “It’s his cheap way of asking you on a date,” Silver smirked at Dexter and I could see a blush creep on his face.
“Way to ruin the mood dude,” Dex pulled back a bit of his hair.
“I don’t see a problem, you said it when we were younger Kaiser is very logical and-” the silver fox was submerged in the water by his leader.
“Moving on I think the heat is getting to me. I think I’ll get some chocolate milk and wash off. I exited quickly and made sure I had a towel wrapped around me. As I quickly made my way to the lockers I could see my arousal and blushed deeper. What is this fox doing to me? During that whole conversation, he made my friend downstairs stir. I shake my head to clear the incoming naughty thoughts. As I opened my locker to get my milk I noticed I got a notification on my ORB. Opening it up was an email from the Battle Academy Association. They recognized that my team was now Master rank and we could begin the scavenger Hunt. Our first clue is to head to Mauville City in Hoenn.
