“Kenta, where did you put the suitcase?” I heard a wool sheep panic.

“It should be in the front closet!” The Chinchilla shouted from his room. I shook my head as I sipped some tea while on the couch. Our team leader being unprepared is hilarious but this has been going on for two hours and I’m over it. We got our clue last night and we all planned to head out together but guess who decided to pack at the last minute? I decided it would be good to scroll on the TV to see what was going on.

“Hello, Hello!” The TV came to life and I almost spat out my tea. On the screen was a peppy Typhlosion and a saddened Hisuian Typhlosion. “My name is Mai and with my twin sister Ai we’ll be you’re Emce’s!” The peppy Typhlosion introduced herself and her sister. From the broadcast, you could hear a cheer from the audience.

“Is that the Emcee duo Mai and Ai!” Kenta shouted from his room bolting to the living room. “I didn’t think any major Crystal Qualifiers were going on this week!” The normally calm taction lost it as he saw the duo on screen. I then noticed the headline.

“Junior Cup, Verdanturf Town,” I tried to think where that was.

“That’s in Hoenn!” Kenta’s burst of energy isn’t stopping and it’s kinda cute.

“Calm down, not like you’re the one competing,” I told him with a little bite. I saw his ears flatten but he nodded his head. He decided to join me on the couch and we could still hear Reuben rushing around the apartment.

“Let’s get this underway, we have places to be,” Ai chimed in, not happy to be there. I also noticed Kenta Pulled up his ORB screen and he was currently looking at the teams who qualified for this year's Crystal Conference and so far it’s only two teams. Last year's winners automatically qualify, no surprise Team: Iron is back and has been winners for years now. The second team surprised everyone by coming out of seemingly nowhere. Team: Overcrest, they got top four last year.

“The first-round matchups are King of the Hill!” They both announced.

“Our first match is Team: Fusion vs Team: Ragnarok!” Mai cheered. Kenta and I were both surprised to see those names appear on the screen.

“Reuben!” We both shouted.

“What!” He poked his head around the corner and saw what we saw. Joining us on the couch.

“It’s not urgent for us to follow our clues.” Reuben tried to find an excuse to watch. “Plus I want to see Snow White stick it to Loki,” he grumbled as if remembering the fight the two had. We all turned our attention back to the TV as the battlefield changed to a mountainous one and we could see the two groups walking toward the battlefield. I hope you know what you’re doing Gale. This tournament is broadcasted and I hope you are ready to pay the price if you get caught. I then shook my head, why should I care about this family bullshit. Not like we are blood anyway. Time to observe what you’ve been up to.

“The battlefield is set and the competitors are charging the stage!” Mai cheered.

“There will be ten minutes on the clock. To win you either need to guard the fortress for six minutes or knock out all the opposing Pokemon,” Ai sighed.

“Don’t forget the possible third win condition,” Mai giggled.

“If the clock runs out before either team reaches six minutes the team with the most time guarding the fortress wins,” both explained simultaneously. It’s almost scary.

“Seems like both teams are ready sis,” Mai cheered.

“Looks like it’s time to start,” Ai grumbled.

“3 . . 2 . . 1 Begin!” Both sisters shouted

At the start of the match, we bolted to the top of the hill. Ark planned to make it there first with the help of Extreme Speed. The fortress isn’t that big as it has about five entrances making it difficult for you to infiltrate. What surprised us was when we got there Team: Fusion didn’t leave their initial spot. Seems like they were plotting at the bottom of the hill. I checked my ORB and our time was increasing showing we had possession of the hill.

“What are they up to?” Ignis seemed frustrated.

“Let’s not get hot-headed, we need to come up with a plan to guard the fortress,” Ark suggested. I nodded agreeing with him

“Dex is an illusionist and loves to confuse the opponent he is a massive threat, once we pinpoint him Ark you take him on. Gale is a glass cannon and it would be best for Ignis to me to fight him. Ignis I want you to be on top of the fortress attacking them from afar to slow them down,” I felt this plan would work. This is our first King of the Hill match.

“Since there we can’t come back after fainting in this match I know heal pulse,” Ark explained.

“Talk about being useful,” Ignis scoffed as he got in position, leaving Ark and I together. Ark looked as if he had something to say which left me confused. I then remember we’re in the middle of a match.

“If you want to talk to me about something, let's do it after the match,” I said.

(Ryusei Toshi (Off vocal) - Dragalia Lost)

“They’re on the move, two coming straight for us!” Ignis shouted.

“I got this, use your aura to locate the location of the third Pokemon,” I ran to the front and it was Gale and Silver coming straight for us. I then pulled out my item, spraying a bit in my mouth, and then let out an ear-shattering scream in the direction of the opposition. It was effective but didn’t slow them down. That’s when a beam of green blasted at both of them from the top of the fortress. That’s when I noticed the two disappeared.

“It was an illusion!” Ignis was frustrated.

“They're attacking from the sides!” Ark shouted from within the fortress. It sounded as if he was grunting dealing with a member of Team: Fusion himself.

“Seems like Team: Ragnarok fell for Team: Fusion’s trap,” a depressing voice said.

“Can they make a comeback!” A cheery voice followed. Going around the hill I found Silver, hopefully, this time it’s the real one.

“We should give you credit Dexter said it would take you longer to figure out the illusion!” Silver was being cocky. My claws and feet glowed white as I charged toward Silver. He howled and floating stones appeared around me stopping me in my tracks. One by one the rocks were flying at me. I countered them with my Aerial Ace. “That should keep you busy for a little while,” Silver went back towards the Fortress.

“I’m not letting you escape!” I didn’t feel like myself for a second as a dark aura flowed out of me destroying all the rocks and then enveloping Silver in a dark veil as he screamed. The veil disappeared and he was now shivering as he gained the status of frostbite. I took my chance and combined him with my claw and foot which were cloaked in white. It sent him tumbling back down the hill. He eventually regained his footing and looked at me with a flat face.

“I’ll be honest I thought you were beneath me but I should’ve known that wasn’t true since Dexter considers you a rival,” He then let out another howl. I felt something sticky on my feet and that is when I noticed a bubbly ooze that enveloped me quickly and then disappeared quickly. I started to feel sick. That was Toxic, now I’m on a timer even if Ark uses Heal Pulse on me the poison will only get worse. However, my ability kicks in and my stats all rise by one.

“Sad you consider me beneath you, but I don’t blame you. You’re really strong, proven you’ve beaten us before,” I emphasized on ‘before’. “It’s my turn to show you what I can do,” Charging a blue ball of pure energy in my claws, I launched it at Silver and he countered by blasting me with a big flame that then extended itself. I then ran around the side surprising Silver and striking him again with Aerial Ace. I then jumped back allowing him to take the full hit of my Focus Blast. When I landed I felt worse as the Poison was starting to take its toll on my body. In response, all my stats rose again.

“Silver Princeton and Ignis Wintersea both eliminated!” Mai and Ai announced. I looked at the top of the Fortress and Ignis was taken out by Dex. “With both teams down one teammate, it’s still anyone's victory!” Mai cheered. I quickly ran into the Fortress and saw Ark fighting Gale and it seemed Gale was struggling to keep up with my Lucario teammate. As I’ve noticed Gale’s fighting style is quick movements reliant on him always discharging electricity. If you can slow him down in a fight it makes it harder for him to discharge his electricity. I took this as my chance as this time the whole room filled with a black aura pouring out of me.

“What!” Ark was surprised.

“Huh?” Gale seemed scared.

“This is what happens when my ability and attack are fueled by a status effect!” I growled enjoying the feeling this power gives me. I redirected the dark energy to attack and trap Gale and the look of pain on his face put a grin on mine. “Ark, now’s your chance!” I shouted and Ark charged in ready to strike with his fist.

“I don’t think so,” a voice whispered in my ear. That’s when the interior of the fortress went back to normal and standing in front of us was Dex guarding Gale with Protect while Ark was trying to break through it.

“Would you look at that!” Mai cheered.

“It was all an illusion,” Ai tried to sound spooky. I then dropped to my knees as the poison was chipping away at me.

“His illusions are getting better,” Ark complemented Dex.

“Thank you, it may not seem like it but I train hard,” he bows jokingly. How can he be so nonchalant in this situation? I don’t want to lose and I know I’m on fumes which means thanks to my ability Malice my stats should be through the roof.

“I’m not going down without a fight!” My outburst surprised everyone in the room as a deep black haze filled the room. The amount of power I am using for Bitter Maice is so strong this time my power is cutting through my fur. A chill invades the room as the haze then wraps around both Dex and Gale. I can hear them both scream and as the haze fades I can see frost form on their fur. Though this is all I had left after my attack my body falls over on the floor and I can’t move. My muscles hurt, my fur is matted and I have new cuts from my power.

“Kaiser!” Ark shouted.

“Eliminated! Kaiser Luna, energy at zero!” Mai cheered. Guess that’s it, everything is left up to Ark hopefully he wins. I give in and close my eyes letting everything fade to black.

I’m scared, my team leader fell to the ground using all his strength to fend off the remaining members of Team: Fusion, and ended up eliminating himself in the process. The room returned to normal and the two in front of me were panting. Showing Kaiser's attack worked.

‘I can finish the job,’ I already knew who it was with their cocky snarl. ‘You know you can’t finish the job on your own as you were supposed to support your team,’ the dark voice laughed in my head. ‘You should, no,’ the voice paused. ‘You will let me out,’ I heard a dark chuckle. I could feel the color drop from my face. As it happened I could see Gale who was exhausted look at me in shock.

“L’Ark!” That's all I heard before darkness consumed me.

“What’s happening in the fortress?” I guess the announcers can’t see either. All I could see in the darkness was another me, but his spikes were shaper and the same with his teeth. He was a bit taller too. His eyes glowed red.

“I’ve been waiting for a chance like this, time for you to take a little nap,” he walked over putting his paw on my head and I instantly felt drowsy. It was only a matter of time before he did something like this.

(Edge of Existence - Kingdom Hearts 3)A/N: ???’s New theme

Sticking my paw out the dark sphere that encased me disappeared letting me break free from the shackles I’ve been imprisoned in for years.

“Two enemies in front of me, both pose a threat. One knows the power of illusions and the other is speedy. Both are not carrying held items and are already fairly damaged. This will be a walk in the park” I completed my analysis.

“L’Ark?” The electric dog asked.

“Absolutely fucking not, but you look familiar to me,” I raised a brow before I blitzed him with an attack while his guard was down. I kept attacking relentlessly until I punched him into the wall. “You look familiar, tell me, have you ever been to Unova in the past eight years?” I then realized he could barely speak after being punched into the wall. I started to laugh at the sight before me.

“Look at that! Where did all this power come from!” A voice said. I forget this is a competition so I can’t be too ruthless, I sucked my teeth.

“What the hell!” A shiny Zoroark tried to strike me as his claws were glowing. I grabbed his wrist stopping the attack, pulling him in close as I focused all my power on my other paw and at point blank unleashed a Dragon Pulse on his stomach. Sending him flying back into the wall as well.

“Wow you two pose no challenge why was Ark struggling to deal with just the dog?” I sigh. I then notice both of them getting back on their feet.

“You were there,” the electric dog spoke out.

“Huh,” I raise my brow.

“Years ago when I was traveling through Nimbasa City,” he looked furious.

“That’s where I know you from,” I acted as if I was thinking about it. “The lost puppy asking if they had seen their friend,” I started to antagonize him. “I can tell you one thing, you won’t find him on the battlefield,” I went to attack the dog again but as I was about to connect the Zoroark came in and uppercut me in the jaw. Lucky break for him.

“Why did you lie to me L’Ark!” The dog took his chance to attack me. His fur bristled as he howled and lightning was sticking all over the place both the Zoroark and I were dodging. That’s when the lightning struck the dog and it looked as if he was powering up. That’s when the Lighting started to strike harder leaving behind ash stains wherever it strikes.

“Sorry to break it to you but I don’t recognize that name,” I spat as I stuck my tongue out. I then saw another opportunity to strike him with Close Combat and did so. Sending him flying into the wall again, but when I finished my attack I was going to get hit with another bolt of lightning. I blinked my eye and easily evaded it and saw I also evaded the Zoroark.

“Gale Bark eliminated!” They announced. I smirked as the Lightning stopped.

“So you know Detect, Close Combat, and Dragon pulse!” he sucked his teeth.

“Just you and me,” I taunted. He took the bait and slammed his claws against the ground causing a dark force to head my way. I easily avoided it. That's when I noticed I was in a dark void.

“It’s getting interesting down there and there is only one fighter on each team. Team: Ragnarok has had the fortress for four minutes!” The announcer sounded dull this time.

“Welcome to my illusion sub-space,” The area then turned into plains with a field of flowers. This is too realistic, he really does train his illusion powers. Yet, it won’t be enough to stop me. I felt a presence behind me and countered by elbowing the being behind me. I heard coughing meaning I struck my target. I turned around to see the Zoroark on the ground panting.

“You should know I’m not like other Pokemon, I’m a special breed,” as I say that with the flick of my paw, his whole illusion space shatters.

“What are you?” he looks up at me with fear as he can now see the shadow aura form around me like a miasma.

“Test subject eighteen version four!” I focused all of my shadow aura in my paw about to strike when the match stopped.

“Elimination L’Ark Stone, use of an illegal move!” I was forced to stop the match and I instantly stepped back, turning around.

“Should’ve known this move was illegal,” I suck my teeth annoyed. “See yah, it was good for me to let loose,” I walked away from the battlefield making my way to the infirmary where I would return control to this worthless nobody.

(A Funeral of Flowers (Thunder) - FE 3H)

Sitting here in the airport I can’t stop thinking about our match from two days ago in the junior cup. It doesn’t help that a reminder of my defeat is sitting across from me. Currently both my team and Team: Fusion are at a table as we all are waiting for our flights to board. With Team: Fusion here our defeat looms over us. It tells us they are the better team from when we were teens to even now as adults. We’re all doing our things as Ignis is playing a game on his ORB, Ark is going through his tactics library on his ORB, Silver is planning his next venues/photo shoots, Gale is napping, and Dex is listening to music. One thing that was obvious in all of this was my team's morale was low. I look at Ark a bit differently now with his display of power in our match, like what is he hiding? I think there is a bit for my team to talk about. Ignis’s weird ice attack, Ark’s alter ego, and me and my malice/death. Though for me I don’t know where to start as I don’t know where my problem stems from.

“Kaiser” I looked across from me and Dexter was staring at me with a serious expression.

“Yeah?” I looked at him confused. Was I off staring into space too long?

“Don’t think too much, just let everything go,” his expression softened and I was confused.

“What are you talking about?” I asked as if I was missing something.

“Now boarding the plane to Aether paradise in the Alola region!” a flight attendant announced on the intercom. Before I got the chance to respond Silver got up from his seat.

“Seems this is where we part ways,” Ignis then did the same.

“You make it sound like we’ll be away from them for long. Not like I need them anyway,” even though Ignis is being cocky I know this loss was a blow to his ego.

“We’ll be seeing you guys,” Silver and Ignis then walk off to their gate. The two seemed comfortable with each other and I’m glad Ignis has someone to travel with while in Alola. I returned to Dexter and all I saw was his wavering eyes.

“Moving forward everything I do, don’t take it personally,” his voice was full of sorrow, but I still didn’t understand. Is he not going to travel with me?

“Not like I did,” I gave him a slight smile as I returned to my thoughts. I then looked at my teammate beside me, Ark. He noticed me staring and then blushed for a second.

“Something wrong?” he asked.

“Nothing, I was wondering if you would be okay traveling without Ignis and me? As you grew to take the mother role of our group,” I chuckle lightly at my attempt at a joke. I expected him to roll his eyes and laugh back but instead, he twitched slightly.

“I’m not your parent. I’m the same age as you. You should worry about yourself, team leader,” his response caught me off guard. I guess he’s still bitter about our loss. He is the reason the match ended in disqualification.

“You’re right,” I returned to my thoughts.

“Now boarding plane to the Isle of Armour in the Galor region!” Another flight attendant announced. Ark instantly sighed and got up from his seat.

“Time for us to go,” Ark walked over to Gale and woke him up by flicking his ear.

“Ow! That’s a rude way to wake someone up!” Gale shot awake from his nap annoyed looking at Ark.

“You can sleep on the plane, let’s move,” Ark gestured to follow. That’s when I noticed Gale submitted instantly after looking Ark in the eyes.

“You’re right,” Gale sighed, getting up. “Hope to see you guys soon, don’t have too much fun without us,” Gale teased us and I could see a light blush appear on Dex’s dark fur. They then disappeared heading towards their gate, leaving me alone with Dex. He was staring at me as if he wanted to say something.

“Can I ask you something?” Dex finally cut the tension.

“Yes,” I responded.

“I like someone and I’m unsure how to ask them out,” This seems out of nowhere.

“Why ask now when we had others around us earlier?” I was confused.

“You know how they are and like to tease me,” he responded while scratching the back of his head. “ I want to ask for your help” he smiled at me. For some reason, it hurt to hear he liked someone, though, it couldn’t be the pain of rejection since I never liked him like that in the first place.

“Just ask them, the worst they can say is no,” I shrug as I have no dating experience myself.

“Well, they compete in Battle Academy as well and us facing each other can affect the relationship,” he explained and I can understand how that can happen.

“If that’s the case, then I don’t know the answer,” I hesitated. I wanted to tell him to ask and everything would be okay but that would be hypocritical of me. As someone who struggles with emotions and malice, I can hold a grudge no matter how knowledgeable I am. I’m not going to lie, I am upset that my team lost and it hurts a bit knowing the reason for the loss sits in front of me.

“I was afraid you would say that, but thank you for your help,” Dex took my answer and had a bittersweet expression.

(Towards the Goal of Hope! - Inazuma Eleven Go Galaxy)

“Now boarding plane to Lily Pad town in the Sinnoh region!” another flight attendant announced.

“That’s our cue,” I nodded as Dexter and I got up. We both started making our way to the gate. “We’ll have time for a little vacation, right?” Dexter asked and he was giving me cute eyes.

“Fine, but remember why we’re going to Sinnoh in the first place,” I sighed. How can this man lead a successful team, make headlines, and then act so childish sometimes? Unbeknownst to him there are certain spots in Sinnoh I want to visit. Sinnoh was formerly known as the Hisui region and maybe there will be some clues to that nightmare I keep having. Also, the fact I had a father. I never forgot that when we competed in the Super League Reuben, Ark, and I were announced to be legacies of a famous team from years ago. We eventually made it to the gate and scanned our boarding passes to get to our seats. It wasn’t that packed of a flight but it will be quite a long flight. It gives me time to plan out my main objective and side goals. I want to see my team make it to the Crystal League and I don’t want to face another loss like we did in the Junior Cup. As I was doing my planning I noticed Dex dozed off beside me. I’ll be able to take you down eventually, but for now, we’ll be companions. I reread my clue “I need to head to a region with a high mountain peak, fog so thick Braviary struggles to clear it, mountain sides a sneasaleer struggles to climb, and so whimsical you can see Bascalegion fly in a veil of water.” I wonder what my task is.
