~Kaiser’s~

(Cold Vote - Kana Hashiguchi)A/N: Paula’s new Theme

“Your father was taken away from us, though from what you share there is a missing gap in your memory but it is undeniable that you died,” my mom frowned as we reconnected.

“Then tell me why did he have to leave?” We’ve been talking for a while and I want to get down to brass tax.

“I think we should assist in explaining,” both Damon and Paula appeared again behind my mother.

“As you know Pokemon compete to be the strongest and compete in the Crystal league,” Paula started.

“Our father loves watching the Crystal League every year and thought he would make his tournament for his entertainment,” Damon sighed.

“Your father and his teammates were selected as one of the teams,” my mom added.

“I don’t get it why is he still gone then if that was years ago?” I was confused. The others looked sad at my question.

“The thing is we're not allowed to mention what your father is doing until time allows us,” Damon sighed. As the ruler of time, I could understand why this is tricky.

“Even I don’t know what he’s doing,” my mom said with a frown.

“Another question, how was I reborn? As I’m sure I died in that blizzard,” the two legendaries looked at my mom.

“After I chased you into the storm I eventually got lost and miraculously I was brought here where I met Damon and Paula. I was allowed one wish at the cost of being stuck in this purgatory. I used my wish to make sure you survived the blizzard and was found by someone who could keep you safe,” she explained.

“Then why do I look like this?” I asked.

“When Cherise made the wish she said by any means possible. When looking at it Hisuian Zoroark handles colder climates better than normal Zoroark hence why the change,” Paula explained. I was then confused about how she gained the ability to have a wish granted.

“To explain the rules of this Purgatory, this is a space between reality and distortion, a hidden pocket dimension where time and space can’t govern it. Those who can make it here can have one wish granted, however, you can’t wish for more wishes and if you decide to use this wish you are not allowed to leave this dimension,” Damon further explained this domain we are in.

“You hear that, Kaiser, you can wish for your father to be free and he’ll eventually come to us,” My mom sounded so excited. Though living here for the rest of my life. That’s when I received a message on my ORB from Kenta.

“Where are you? You just upped and vanished in the Crystal Gardens and we got chased by Galvantula. I’m worried about you and so are Clair and Dexter. It’s been two weeks and I’m sorry it's taken so long but we’re going back to look for you,” I froze as I listened to the voice memo. I then looked at the date it was sent, May fifth, Wednesday.

How is that possible? I’ve only been in here for a few hours at best. “It wouldn’t be that long waiting for him either, it only felt like a few months from when I last saw you and you’re a full-on adult. Now I can spend time with my son,” my mom was excited.

“I think Kaiser realized what it means to be in a space not governed by time,” Paula sighed. My mom’s smile turned to a frown.

“Kaiser it’s great here you can do as you please and your memories play like movies here and you can never get bored,” she tried to comfort me.

“I’m sorry, Mom, but I can’t stay here,” My words slowed down as I said ‘Mom’. I never thought I’d get to say that again.

“Kaiser, we can be a family again and create new memories here while relieving all of our old memories,” she tried to put a positive spin on this.

“What will we do after that, fade away together to be forgotten by the rest of the world,” I don’t like the idea of being trapped here.

“We’ll be a family and that’s what matters,” my mom was getting upset.

“I’m sorry but I have other responsibilities like the team I lead, I can’t just abandon that,” I responded.

“Oh, I see,” she paused. “I feel like I wasted all that time constantly begging the others to see you again,” she looked mad. I was confused.

“When your clue got updated, that was me doing some meddling to ensure the reunion happened,” Paula admitted.

“I see but since I still can make a wish I can leave and come back. I can visit you whenever,” I tried to compromise.

“Kaiser, that's not what we need for this family, we need to be together,” she was getting angry. “Why are you so like your father,” she growled. I froze as she compared me to my dad. It reminds me of the first time I heard about him back in the Super Rank Cup.

“I promise I’ll come back to see you on the regular,” I was trying to calm her down.

“You won’t need to make that promise,” she stood up from the table. “ I Cherise Luna Challenge Kaiser Luna to a fight the winner gets his wish,” my mom announced.

“The domain recognizes this challenge, battle preparation commencing,” Damon announced as the domain started to shift. A stadium started to form around all of us and I was in awe watching the battlefield materialize.

“One rule this place does have is no fights can be declined and I have been challenging these two for years to get another wish to no avail but since you won’t use your wish I’ll take it from you,” I could see tears starting to form in my mom’s eyes as it looks like she doesn’t want to do this.

“Battlefield complete and time anchor set, all preparations are set, waiting on competitors to be ready,” Paula announced.

“Mom, I,” I was hesitant as this all happened so quickly but I can’t back down. As much as I want to be with my family I have a team to lead. I’ll be back I promise.

“Please save your words, I’ve made up my mind,” she looked ready to fight.

“Both are ready to fight! 3. . 2 . . 1, Battle Begin!” Damon announced.

~Kenta’s~

(Lively Cyber Detective - Digimon Story)

While doing recon for these last two weeks we realized the rogue team in control of Mount Coronet is Cat's Cradle, the same team that kidnapped me five years back. We planned a method of attack to exterminate the area and also figure out what happened to Kaiser. The three of us can handle this I’m sure. I read up on tactics that deal with swarms of enemies. In our search, there are only two possible exits from the Crystal Gardens which can lead to five escape routes. Dexter will handle one exit making an illusion while I cover the other. Clair will go in and stir up trouble and force the rogue team to scatter.

“Is everyone in their positions?” Clair announced. The three of us were on a voice call to make contacting each other easier.

“I’m ready,” I responded. I let out a hefty sigh as the nerves were starting to get to me. You are strong Kenta, you’re more experienced now.

“All things are ready on my end,” Dexter added.

“All things are a go, I’m going in,” Clair announced and I waited for the signal, bracing myself. “This place looks a lot different than last time,” I was surprised to hear that from her. “It looks like ice webs cover all of the Crystal Garden,” she did her best to explain the landscape. My breath hitched for a moment.

“That means their leader is here,” my voice was shaking as I remembered what happened in Chargestone Cave. “She was going to kill me in her ice web and eat me,” I was starting to get scared.

“Who is she?” Clair asked.

“Vesca, the leader of Cat's Cradle, a rare form of Galvantula from the Xenoverse. Unlike being Electric and bug she is Ice and Bug. She’ll try to strike a deal to avoid fighting,” I shiver as I talk remembering being stuck in her web. The cold feeling of being barely kept alive.

“Suck it up, we have a mission to do,” Dexter reminded me. I hate it but he’s right.

“Thanks for the heads up Kenta that information will be useful,” Clair complimented me. I waited for her signal. “I can see the Crystal Garden and as I suspected the Galvantula are hiding on the ceiling and the walls, everyone be prepared,” she warned us. That’s when a heavy wind was blowing my way and I can assume the same for Dexter. The plan was to trap as many Galvantula in Clair’s Hurricane and make the others scatter for the exits. I made sure to use Work Up to boost my stats in preparation for this all-out assault and that’s when I saw the red eyes of the Galvantula coming at me from the darkness. I folded my ears in as I took a deep breath. I then let out an ear-piercing scream. As they made their way to me I could see the horde fall over one by one. I’m a lot stronger than when I was a kid. This is so much easier.

“It’s working, all the Galvantula are getting knocked out,” I cheered as I stopped using Hyper voice for a second.

“Don’t celebrate too early there is still some coming my way,” Dexter grunted. He’s right I can see more red eyes. I continued using Hyper Voice until I saw no more red eyes.

“ I wonder why a rogue team would be out here?” I ask myself as I step back in the area I’m in.

“We are mining the mountain!” I heard a shout and then the ground broke underneath me as I got attacked by an Excadrill. I landed on my feet but wasn’t expecting to deal with an Excadrill.

“Remember me Kenta?” He asked with a smirk.

“Your voice sounds familiar,” I was confused as he reminded me of when I went to the PWT. He started to walk slowly to me as one claw glowed white while the other was gray.

“Maybe I can jog that memory of yours,” his claws were now scraping the ground. He then came in close with his gray claw and I dodged. He came in for a third attack with his white claw and I deflected it with my tail. I then remember one other Pokemon who did this.

“You’re Soren, the leader of rogue team: Venom,” I answered.

(Elegance - Vanguard G)A/N: Cherise New Theme

I can’t believe I’m fighting my mom right now. I need to gauge her strength, time for me to get in close. As I ran across the battlefield my claws glowed white. I slice past her knowing I landed my attack. I then turned around to see her body fall and then fade away. Did I…just kill my mom?

“Right behind you,” I heard a whisper before I got blasted with a ball of flames. I was sent tumbling across the field. Scrambling to get to my feet. I quickly pulled up my ORB screen and it registered her previous attack as Incinerate. “You didn’t know and I was going to tell you eventually, but I was formerly a leader of a rogue team. We were a Rogue team: Sniper. We were assassins for hire,” my mom explained. She didn’t sound proud of what she was but I can understand why. She is a Zoroark. I shouldn't be surprised by her ability in illusions especially if she was an assassin. It’s my turn to show her I’m no pushover. I ran at her full speed ahead as a green aura surrounded me, I bashed right into her, shoving her back as I bounced off her body in the air. That was my first time using U-Turn in a while. Looking down at her I charged my energy into a ball and blasted it at her. As it was sent her way it broke into many shots flying her way. She was able to dodge a lot of them as a few hit her head on. When I landed some dirt got kicked up but cleared revealing that my mom was okay.

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

“Do we have to fight, I can leave and find a way where you, Dad, and I can be reunited,” I tried to reason with her. That's when she ran in close and aimed to jab me a few times and I blocked her strikes.

“I’ve waited here for you to eventually find me. The only thing that kept me patient was my memories of you as a child and imagining us as a family. If I can’t have that wish now I might as well fight to make it real,” she had tears in her eyes as she was fighting. She got the upper hand as she was agile enough to wrap herself around me and use my body weight against me to throw me. I was sent tumbling on the battlefield. That was Foul Play I’ve never had it used against me before. Foul Play is a move where the opponent's Attack stat instead of the user's in damage calculation. In other words, the move acts as if the target is attacking themselves. My mom truly is a former assassin knowing moves like that. As I got back to my feet ready to counter-attack my mom was in front of me again and struck me back using Sucker punch. I was sent sliding back this time. I can only be amazed by her skill as an assassin. Not giving room for your opponent to breathe and in this case, hitting me with two super effective moves back to back.

“I understand you don’t want to wait any longer but making a rash decision like this isn’t the answer,” I tried to calm her down.

“So you are like your father in that regard,” she sighed. I was confused. “Your father is a thinker while I’m a bit bold and quick to anger,” she admitted. If that’s the case she gave me the answer to win this fight.

(Bloom Rondeau - Vanguard G)

I close my eyes as I focus only on her and I. Opening them the Battlefield around us morphs to the blizzard on Mount Coronet. It was very realistic. I never thought I could make such an illusion. It was similar to my dreams where there was a Zorura in the snow getting buried alive. The shock in my mom’s eyes was obvious. I took my chance and dove at her cloaked in a green aura using U-Turn. As my attack connected she didn’t block me in any way, almost accepting her fate. When I jumped back I launched a Focus Blast right at her and it consumed her whole body. Yet no screams or nothing. When I landed back in the snow she was crawling back to her feet.

“What’s wrong, did you lose your will to fight?” I antagonized her a bit. I was a little angry after showing her the sight of my death that she almost gave up her will to fight instantly.

“Yes, I mean no, but,” She was struggling to find the words. “I feel guilty not finding you that night,” she got back in a fighting stance.

“Then be happy that I’m here now,” I went in close as my claws glowed white. “You should be happy, to see me again,” we clashed as she countered my attacks with Sucker Punch. “If you wanted you would have wished for me to be here in the purgatory with you!” I shouted. I was finally able to land a hit on her and kicked her as well. “You came here instantly as I ran after Dad. You used your wish knowing I’d die, you knew you’d be trapped here after you did but it didn’t bother you as in your head you thought you deserved it. This place is a prison you handed yourself over to as you knew it would be dangerous for me to live a normal life with you in it. It’s why you and Dad hid in the mountains,” I laid it all down as I was finally able to piece it together. “It was Dad’s idea wasn’t it because he also knows of this place,” my mom got back on her feet.

“All of what you said is true, it would be hard for the three of us to live a normal life out there,” she sighed. “Though he wanted me to stay in the cabin, what was I supposed to do when my son ran out in a blizzard and I couldn’t find him?” she was on the brink of tears.

“I’m not blaming you but I just wanted the answers. As much as I hate the truth of it all,” A shadow-like aura starts to form around me as my hair starts to flow eerily. “Time for this fight to end,” I shout as my shadow aura consumes my mother and all I hear is her screams, a sound I shouldn’t enjoy when I use this move Bitter Malice. My power wasn’t strong enough this time to cause cuts. As the aura faded away she fell to her knees in the snow, shivering.

“I just wanted you to experience a normal life but at the same time I wanted to be a part of it,” she sighed as she fell over and I caught her.

“Winner Kaiser Luna!” Damon announced. I made sure to drop the illusion as we returned to the normal battlefield.

“Now that you won, what will you do?” My mom asked.

“I’ll return to the Crystal Garden,” I responded.

“To let you know as long as you have a wish you can come and go as you please and retain your memories of this place,” Paula explained as both she and Damon appeared before us.

“However, breathe word of this place and what you saw inside and you will be dealt with accordingly,” I gulp as Damon used a threatening voice.

“I’m sorry you had to learn this way, I just wanted to spend time with you,” My mom explained.

“It’s okay, I understand and I’ll make sure to visit,” I promised her.

“If you want to leave, now is the best time,” Now that the fight is over I must remove the time anchor and you know what will happen next,” Damon explained. I understood and both my mother and I got up. I hugged her tight as I knew it would be a while before I saw her again. I didn’t expect all of this but I’m glad it happened as it answers what happened back then.

“I love you mom,” As I hugged her I could feel a tear run down my cheek. As we let go of each other a white light started to consume me.

“I love you too Kaiser and good luck in the league,” she kissed my cheek and leaned back waving goodbye. I saw as the whole purgatory faded away and the vision of Paula, Damon, and my mom faded away.

~Kenta’s~

(Confront the Enemy - Digimon Story)A/N: Rogue team theme second version

“Now you remember. I’m glad you didn’t forget me,” Soren taunted me. “I’ve gotten stronger little Kenta but from the looks of it you have to,” the Excadrill continued to taunt me. It was my turn to attack. I start to swivel on my feet as water coats my tail and I attack Soren from afar.

“I’ve gotten a lot stronger!” I shouted as my attack connected and water droplets went everywhere.

“Whatever strength you got means nothing,” he started to laugh as if the attack barely had an effect. “Seems like you’ll always be a burden to your team,” his words made my eyes widen. “Or is that the reason none of your teammates from then is here?” He struck a nerve.

Me, a burden to my team. They always reassured me that I’m a valued member of the team. As their tactician and a fighter. How would he know that I’m insecure about my skills as a fighter?

“Pay attention!” I didn’t realize my thoughts were distracting me mid-fight. All I see is a high-speed drill flying my way and I take the drill Run head-on knocking me back. As he spins past me and lands he wears a smirk. “Little note after we fought before me and my team trained every day with our sole objectives of knocking out teams and trafficking them. Eventually, we were going to see you again,” he snorted as I got up to my feet.

“You’re disgusting,” I retorted.

“You’re weak,” he countered. “I follow you on Flight and honestly thank yourself for this reunion as I’ve been tailing you since you arrived in Sinnoh,” Soren admitted. For some reason that made my fur bristle.

“Shut up you creep,” It was my turn to attack and I ran up to him. He tried to attack me with his claw as it glowed gray and I dodged wrapping around his body using my tails to Tickle him. He started to laugh as I continued to Tickle him as much as I could before he threw me off his body.

“I decided instead of trafficking you, I’ll keep you as my personal toy. You keep posting pictures of how cute you are when you travel. Think of it as a reward when this fight is over,” I was disgusted by his words. Who does he think he is talking about me as if I’m some item?

“You’re a disgusting creep. I thought when you grow up you’re supposed to mature!” I shouted. My words seemed to strike a nerve as he growled at me.

“Shut up!” He growled again. His claws glowed arranged as they cloud against his head drill which glowed silver and he was flying my way at high speeds. I need to dodge. I decided to use Triple Axel to dance out of the way. Clair taught me it is hard to hit a moving opponent, especially with attacks that need a lot of wind up. I managed to move out of the way but he started to drill into the mountain wall and disappear. That was Horn Drill, a one-hit KO move. I needed to be alert to see where Soren was going to appear next. I could feel the ground quake slightly but it wasn’t enough for me to determine which direction he’ll be coming from.

“Kenta I handled all the Galvantula at my extra and two other randoms that tried to Ambush me. Is everything clear on your end?” I forgot I had Clair and Dexter on the line. I wonder if they heard everything from my end. Probably not if he’s asking that question.

“I have my hands tied at the moment, I’ll report in after,” That’s when Soren appeared from the ceiling and I dove out of the way. I didn’t get room to breathe as I got struck by these claws again. I was stumbling into the cave wall and was struggling to get to my feet.

“This looks oddly familiar, five years ago ring any bells?” Soren asked with a cocky smirk. He walked slowly towards me. “Looks like this time no one is coming to save you,” he snickered.

“I don’t need anyone to save me,” I coughed. As he got close I took my chance and launched myself off the wall and wrapped myself around Soren’s body, tickling him again. Before he could do anything I jumped off his body landing on my feet. I wasn’t done. I jumped up heading in his direction and my feet glowed white. I went to kick him and the first strike he blocked with his claw and the second he blocked with his head horn. The third time I kicked him straight in the face. Kicking off his head and landing on the cave floor I prepared for my final attack.

“I won’t lose!” He growled out. His claws joined his head horn and spun at me at high speeds. Drill Run this time. An Aura of yellow flowed around me as I launched a giant star in his direction. Both of our moves clashed and caused a mini explosion making the mountain shake. As the smoke cleared there laid Soren unconscious. I had won. I needed a second and fell on my butt as that was tough and all the things he said were disgusting or rude.

“Weird to see he stayed in the life of crime after all this time,” I sighed. “Kenta reporting everything is good on my end,” I said.

That’s when my ORB screen opened ‘Scavenger hunt completed for Kenta Kumi two of three clues completed for Team: Basic’ the automated voice said.

“Good, I already contacted other teams in the area to help detain the enemy,” Clair said. “ You guys might want to come to the Crystal Gardens, something weird is happening,” Clair seemed confused. It has to deal with Kaiser, is he okay? I instantly got on my feet and started booking it down the tunnel. Past all the past out Galvantula. As I made it to where the bridge was I could see Clair flying in the cavern and some Galvantula lying around. Even Vesca was knocked out on the ground. Though the one major thing of note was the bright white light in the center of the garden. That’s when I saw Kaiser reappear and fall out of the light.

~Kaiser’s~

(Tokoha's Fight - Vanguard G)

It feels weird, almost freeing, that I now know the whole truth of everything. Weird my dad ended up with an assassin. I'll have to ask the story on that when I see her again. The sight of her, Paula, and Damon still lingers in my head as I feel my body drift back to reality. The light that consumed me finally faded away and I could tell I was back in reality. I didn’t realize that purgatory had a different gravity because when I returned I felt heavy.

“Kaiser!” A voice shouted for me as I was falling. I couldn’t bring myself to speak for a second. All I felt was someone breaking my fall and wrapping themselves around me, almost protecting me.

That’s when I opened my eyes and saw purple fur “Dexter?” I asked unsure as my eyes were still adjusting.

“Yeah, I’m here,” he paused. “Don’t mention it,” he grumbled. I look away blushing a bit. I’m still getting used to the real Dexter.

“You caught him, great,” this voice belonged to Kenta and he seemed out of breath. I look over Dexter’s shoulder and see Clair holding Kenta and a bunch of fainted Galvantula. I want to ask questions however I think they handled the situation and will tell me later.

“We’re glad you’re safe, you had us all worried,” Clair smiled at me. That’s when I noticed Dexter wasn’t letting go of me. I coughed to signal he should let me go but only gripped tighter.

“I think we should head back to the resort as the others will handle this mess,” Clair said as she turned around flying herself and Kenta out of a tunnel. That’s when Dexter follows behind her with me in his arms. I didn’t protest but whenever I went to say something I couldn’t bring myself to do so. It was as if Dexter knew what I wanted to say.

“Let’s wait until we all have rested and talked everything out. A lot has happened today and we also want to know what happened to you,” his voice was cold, but I could tell he was talking with care. I know I talked to Kenta about not wanting anyone sexually or having a crush. However, right now I feel really warm and I don’t think it’s just because of Dexter’s fur. I did want to get a bit closer to him as I nuzzled him lightly.

It didn’t take long for us to exit Mount Coronet and on our way out we passed some other teams coming in. I’m assuming to deal with the mess left behind by my friends.

(Towards a Dream - Persona 5 Scramble)A/N: Arc 4 ending version two

After a week of recovering from my return, I felt like myself again. I told the group as much as I was allowed to. Which is that it felt like I was suspended in time. I said I got visions from the universe and the answers about why I’m like this. They believed me which was a relief. One day I’ll be able to tell you all what I really saw. I called my other team members to check in on their progress and Ignis is no longer sick. L’Ark said it was nice to explore Galar, though I could hear Gale in the background and he sounded frantic. “I miss you guys, as much as I enjoyed traveling with Kenta and Dexter. I want to be around you guys,” I sounded a bit mushy.

“Ew, didn’t realize I was on a team with my mom,” Ignis scoffed and I laughed it off.

“Well we should be seeing each other soon if all of our scavenger hunts are completed,” Ark commented.

“You’re right,” I agreed. I missed our banter. It's like I have brothers who will never leave.“I’ll see you guys soon,” we all said our byes as the call ended. Today is May twelfth a Wednesday and I was with Kenta, Clair, and Dexter on the battlefield outside the resort. We were all taking breaks after training with each other when Kenta, Dex, and I got messages on our ORBs.

‘Nice work completing your team scavenger hunt, you have been signed up automatically for the next Crystal League qualifying tournament held in Kanto. Celadon City is the venue and this is the sixth qualifying tournament of this year. The tournament starts May twenty-ninth. After this tournament, if you fail you will have nine more chances at most to qualify for the Crystal League. Good luck,’ that’s what the message read.

“Looks like it’s back to being rivals,” I said.

“You’re not a challenge for me,” Dex spat.

“I won’t go down without a fight,” Kenta joined.

“I’ll be cheering from the sidelines,” Clair said giggling at our antics. It seems so close to the Crystal League, one more hurdle, and I’ll finally be on the big stage.

Action: If you think we’re going straight to Kanto you would be wrong. Now it’s time to see what happened with L’Ark and Gale during April and May in Galar.

Gale: Yippie, it’s fun time. *Howls*

Action: Who will they come across and what were they up to?

L’Ark: Nothing out of the ordinary if you ask me.

Gale: You were never checking in with Kaiser though.

L’Ark: I have my reasons.

Action Whatever the case their section will last only two chapters as a heads up.

L’Ark: don’t forget to fav, follow, and review.
