Awaken

Action: I got this idea while reading the comics of an artist I've been following for a long time.

Kaiser: Are you going to say his name?

Action: No, his art is 18+ and I know more than half my demographic is under that age.

L'Ark: And you have been a fan for how many years?

Action: Besides the point.

Ignis: Sounds like an excuse.

Action: Anyway, let's dive into a new adventure. This story is a whole alternate universe and takes place in a different reality than the High School Daze series but that won't stop me from making small appearances.

Ignis: Also reminder Pokemon are Anthro when they aren't fighting or performing and that is the case for all of Action's stories unless stated explicitly.

Kaiser: Action doesn't own Pokemon, Art, and music links if used.

~Kaiser's~

(Tokoha's Fight - Vanguard G)A/N: Kaiser’s New Theme

Opening my eyes all I could see was a blizzard passing me by and plain white covering the area. I looked around and I could tell I had black fur and my hands had red fur. Anywhere I looked was just a blizzard. It was hard for me to walk and I was shivering. After moving for what felt like forever I fell over on my face. I struggled to move as snow fell on my body. Looking up in front I could see a yellow glare in the distance. I wasn't sure what it was but it kept getting closer to me until I passed out closing my eyes.

"Ah!" I shoot awake in my bed. I look around, the sun is rising and the other kids in the room are asleep. I look down and see my white fur with red at the tips. I sigh as I get out of bed preparing for morning chores. I have that dream every week and I'm not sure what to think of it. I make my bed and get dressed for the day. I look in the mirror and see myself as Hisui Zorua, that's four foot, nine and today is my fifteenth birthday. I went downstairs and started breakfast for the other kids since it's my job as the oldest in the foster home.

While I was cooking the TV was on the news and there was a report about one of the Rouge Teams. Rogue Teams are teams that don't follow the rules set by academies and even go as far as kidnap and kill other Pokemon. The number of rogue groups has been growing and the one today was about the 'Cats Cradle'.

"Oh, good morning Kaiser," It was the voice of the lady who has been taking care of me for the last eight years.

"Good morning Biatres," I greet our motherly Altaria. She is the owner and caretaker of this orphanage.

"I expected you would have slept in, today is the big day isn't it?" She asked while setting up the table.

"It is but it's my last day here and I want to put a smile on all the kids' faces before I leave," I continued cooking on the stove.

"You always cared for the others, even when they got adopted, and wished them happy travels. I just hope with you going to Opelucid City you learn to care for yourself," Biatres approached the stove and assisted me.

"I hope so but also that means new friends and not just having my foster family. Imagine all the friends I can make," I gush a bit as I put eggs, bacon, and French toast on platter trays. I made my way to the table knowing the others will be down soon. I then heard the creak of steps.

"Miss Biatres is Kaiser downstairs? He was already out of bed," I know that voice. It belonged to tiny Gilbert or I call him Gil.

"He made breakfast today, he's already at the table," Biatres told him in the hallway. I then see a Gible running in.

"Happy birthday big bro," Gil ran and jumped up to me and wrapped his arms around my neck. Gil is a twelve year old Gible who's four feet.

"Thanks, Lil Gil" I responded, putting him in his seat.

"Man can you stop being a fag for five minutes," I looked at the entrance and saw a Wooloo.

"Reuben, there is no need for such foul language," I retorted. He joined us at the table.

"Whatever, it's my big day as well," I wanted to roll my eyes, but that was rude. The other kids joined us downstairs for breakfast and I waited till all of them had food on their plates before I grabbed my food. Looking around I've been here a long time and never been chosen for adoption. Not saying I'm upset, Reuben has been in the same boat as me. We both arrived around the same time. Gilbert arrived four years ago and has had a few families come by to see him, but he's a bit troublesome at times. When it came to me as formal and regal as I am they said my fur and eyes were too disturbing. It doesn't help that I bring bad luck and can't control it. I can absorb one's hatred and malice and turn it into my own. I can sometimes control it, but if I'm under stress, it goes haywire.

"Hey, Snow White," I snapped out of my daze due to Reuben. I then notice all the kids are gone. "I need your plate, you are done eating right?" I looked down at my empty plate. I must've been eating in a trance.

"Yeah, here," I gave him my plate and made my way out of the kitchen. I went upstairs to the room we shared and made sure I had my bags packed. One was my clothes, the other was my battle wear and gear, and lastly my favorite games and toys. I then noticed a little gift bag on my bed. I removed the tissue and inside were two items and a note. I pull out the note.

"Young Kaiser, If you are looking at this while still in the house please save it for your bus ride to Opelucid City," I read. I obeyed the letter's will and put it in my game bag. I then hear thumping and income Reuben going to his bed to grab his things.

"You ready to go, Snow White," the foul sheep said.

"Please stop it with a nickname," I said calmly.

"Sure, I can just call you fag," he shrugged, reluctantly.

"That's worse, just don't use that majorly offensive word," I sigh, bringing my things downstairs. Meeting me downstairs were Biatress and Gilbert.

"Big bro, do you have to go?" Gil asked me while walking up to give me a hug.

"We all know these two have to go, it's a long trek from Accumula town to Opelucid City," Biatres said.

"Little shark, you know with us gone, you will be the leader now," Reuben said from behind me. Gilbert let go of me and joined Biatres at her side.

"I hope you know I'm genuinely upset to see the two of you go but it's what you want to do. Please come back when you two can," Biatres said while holding her heart.

Stolen novel; please report.

"Where are the other kids?" I asked.

"They are outback playing before our afternoon learning session," Gil answered me.

"Hey, Snow White we should get moving,'' the bus will be here soon. I agree with Reuben as we take our things and head to the door after one final goodbye. As we leave the house the bus that'll take us to Opelucid City Battle Academy arrives in front of the building.

"Big bro! Reuben! Good luck and please come back!" Lil Gil yells as we get on the bus. I wave to him as the bus starts to depart. I sit down after putting my things away and pull out the gift bag that was left on my bed and read the note again.

"Young Kaiser, If you are looking at this while still in the house please save it for your bus ride to Opelucid City. When I went out shopping for groceries I was having a hard time picking out a gift for you, but luckily I had Gilbert with me and we were able to pick two gifts," I looked at the two major items and there was a Life Orb and a Leftovers patch. "If you don't mind, give Reuben the one you don't want as a gift from me, and don't forget to check the little goodies the other kids gave you. Love Miss Biatres," my heart melted as I read the letter she had for me.

"Is that a Life Orb, Yoink," Reuben snatched it out of my hands.

"I didn't want it anyway and that is a gift from Biatres," I let out a sigh. I think it will be the best item to have when I do the entrance exam. If you don't understand, I plan to be a part of the battle academy which has a few locations in each region and accepts a high number of students each year except for one location. In Unova, there are only four locations, Opelucid City, Undella Town, Nimbassa City, and Aspertia City. Both Reuben and I sent applications to all four locations and got accepted in Opelucid City, which has a low team configuration rate compared to the other locations. They have entrance exams which can be fights, written tests, poke performance, as well as teamwork exercises. I decided to pull out my Battle Academy catalog. It has star Battlers who compete in the world conference which is a tournament where you and your team must qualify for by improving ranking through rank battles during that season. A season tends to last ten months and the world conference takes place a month later. Right now I'm going to the page where they acknowledge some Pokemon who are taking entrance exams and those who look promising. Looking through I saw one who will be in Opelucid City.

(Area: Planet Wisp - Sonic Colors)A/N: Kenta’s New Theme

"Hey, is that the up and coming famous tactician from Nimbasa, L'Ark Stone?" That was a voice unfamiliar to me. I looked to my right and met eyes with a Minccino.

"Ah," I said, startled.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you, but I like to keep myself informed in the academy world," the chinchilla officially took the seat next to me.

"Sorry, I acted rude there," I cleared my throat. "I'm Kaiser Luna, fifteen" I formally introduced myself.

"You're surely formal, I'm Kenta Kumi, thirteen," he gave me a bright smile.

"You were also correct, he's a popular Riolu from Nimbasa who is great at reading opponents and leading others to victory. He'll be at Opelucid," I read his info aloud.

"Snow white can you stop being a geek for a few minutes -" Reuben cuts himself off and sees the Minccino next to me. "Who's the Thumper?" The chinchilla next to me didn't seem happy to hear that.

"The name is Kenta and I'm a Minccino you jerk," he puffed his cheeks in his seat. Looking back at Reuben he had a ping of guilt on his face, but went back to his seat and started to sleep.

"Don't worry about him, he's a bit of a dirty Mudsdale," I joked, though he is good at heart he just doesn't show it. I continue to look through the catalog. I scanned through the Hoenn section and came across a Zorua named Dexter Shade, the leader of Team: Fusion: A natural-born leader who likes to have fun by using his illusions. He can trick his opponents in the midst of battle and don't let his nice demeanor fool you; he is very fluent in combat. It was weird he was still at normal rank though. After him, there was nothing that caught my eye and in turn, started to talk with Kenta. He is a young Scholar from Nuvema Town. He wants to be a tactician and was the smartest even for his young age and loves learning battle tactics. However, his knowledge from textbooks may not transfer to the battlefield since he did say he doesn't have much practice in battles. I explained to him that both Reuben and I are orphans and have been doing our best to train and take this entrance exam to join the academy. Both of us are not sure what we want from this but we do know it would be a dream to compete in the world conference.

"You are not like most Zorua, you are a rare Hisui form aren't you," Kenta asked. I jumped a bit at his accusation.

"You are correct," I said with a bit of a fake smile.

"Though you show no malice, did you ever die by chance-" He was cut off by me.

"Shut up!" I glared and the lights on the bus flicked for a bit. I then see his face as if it is one of fear. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it," I tried to console him.

"You're fine, I think we should get some sleep. It's already dark out," Kenta rolled on his side and started to get comfortable. I decided to look at my town map and saw we were in Mistralton City. I guess we have another two hours in front of us. I can't believe we've already been on the bus for ten hours. We had a few other pickups but none of them interacted with us. In total, there were fifteen of us on this bus. I decided to fall asleep myself.

(Emotion - Vanguard G)A/N: New Ending

We all woke up abruptly when the bus stopped and we had to all get off. To our surprise, there were three other buses with Pokemon filing out of them with their things. I assumed all the applicants would be arriving at different times, guess I was wrong. We were then directed to walk into the Pokemon Center. On our way there I looked around and the town was so pretty and modern with the brick roads and lamp lights though to the normal Pokemon they wouldn't be able to see much at this time of night. As we made our way inside there were two Haxorus side by side yet one was a bit smaller. After it seemed like everyone was inside the bigger dragon started to speak.

"Let me be the first to welcome you to Opelucid City. I am one of the trainers here, Drayden Ax as well as the examiner," the bigger dragon said with a gruff voice.

"I'm Iris Black, eighteen, and I'm an assistant here as well as a part of Team: Beauties. My other teammates are helping in other parts of the region so you may see them," the smaller dragon said with a feminine voice.

"Now there are sixty of you here to join our academy at different ages and skill levels, there are three exams and after each exam, some of you will be cut and asked to leave," Drayden said again.

"Tomorrow's breakfast will be served at eight and at nine be prepared for the first exam. It will be held here, below ground level," Iris said in turn.

"That only gives us nine hours before our first exam," someone said in the crowd. The bigger dragon shook his head in dismay.

"You better be ready then," Drayden let out a sigh. "Now behind us is nurse Joy, she will have your room assignments, and Iris and I will help out," Drayden and Iris moved out of the way to show an Audino behind the counter. We all went to the front desk and got our rooms.

"Hey Kenta, what room did you get?" I asked.

"I got 207," He looked happy.

"Hah, I got 205," Reuben interjected. "What about you Snow White?" He teased me.

"If you have to know I'm in room 412," I said a bit frustrated.

"Too bad, at least Reuben is with me," Kenta said a bit disappointed as the three of us hopped in the elevator.

As the elevator came to the second floor, Reuben said "You guys better not fail a single exam," he said in a rude tone, but Kenta nodded and I gave him a smile. They then hopped off making their way to their rooms as I was then brought to the fourth floor and exited. As I made my way through the halls I made eye contact with a Vulpix before he entered his room. It was room 408, but what I found weird was how long he was staring at me. I shook my head as I swiped my key card and entered my room to be met with a pristine white bed and brown carpet. There was a wide dresser in front of the bed and a flatscreen TV on top of it. Dropping off my things near my bed I walked into the bathroom and almost lost it. There was a tub and a corner shower with two sinks and a large mirror. At the orphanage, they didn't have all this and I'm saying I wasn't grateful, but I could only imagine. Though it's weird not seeing little Gil ask for help or Miss Biatres asking me to overlook the other kids to make sure the chores are done. First things first I took a shower and after I was done I wrapped a towel around my waist and looked at myself in the mirror. I see my scar under my eye and the massive cross on my abdomen.

"After years I still don't know what this means," I said to myself. Studying myself further no matter what I did my hair always flowed like it defied gravity. Why do I look like this? It's not common to find a hisui Zorua. I chase my thoughts away as I go to my bags and change into some pajamas and set an alarm. I have six hours before I wake up, so I should be fine.

Kenta: I like how you introduce me first aside from Reuben.

Action: Calm down we are barely getting started.

Ignis: I guess so.
