[It’s 12:33 in the afternoon inside a large and busy supermarket. There are crowds of people moving around the 12 aisles decorated for Halloween, chatter filling up the whole room while “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” is playing on the speakers overhead. On the other end of aisle 7 filled with stationary is Leigh, currently on the phone to Gary. He’s wearing a short sleeved “Bulba Fett” shirt and jeans, pushing a trolley filled with paper and marker pens.]
Gary: [on phone] I swear I got a power.
Leigh: Dude, I don’t know if that’s something you should be looking for right now.
Gary: [on phone] Come on, I could help so much more with a power! I’ve been trying to activate it and everything!
[Leigh grabs a pair of scissors from the aisle and throws it in the trolley, it starting to move away on its own.]
Leigh: Have you found it?
Gary: [on phone] Well, I… found out… I shouldn’t play in traffic.
[Leigh facepalms his phone, turning to follow his trolley.]
Leigh: Gary, mate, just… focus on the current problem, we’ll deal with your “power” later.
Gary: [on phone] That better be a promise. I was in that Storm, I was struck by lightning, I deserve my power!
Leigh: Yeah, I get it, okay…
[Leigh turns the corner, stopping his trolley and seeing a Halloween display. The display has a werewolf, zombie and vampire mask along with a fake knife, toy pitchfork and multiple different bucket designs. Leigh takes the werewolf mask from the display, looking over it.]
Leigh: Hey, you want me to bring down some Halloween stuff too?
Gary: [on phone] Just get the planning stuff, we still got a week for Halloween.
Leigh: I guess.
[There’s a loud clatter and scream in the distance.]
Gary: [on phone, worried] What was that?
[Leigh looks up to see a small group of men at the entrance. They’re carrying knives and wearing masks. One of the men in the back is carrying what appears to be a gun. They’re yelling at customers, quickly trying to herd them into a corner.]
Leigh: [worried] Um…
[Leigh quickly turns back around the corner, pulling the phone away slightly. He faces away from the entrance as men come over.]
Leigh: [worried] Know what, I’m gonna call you back.
Gary: [on phone, worried] Why? Leigh, you there? Hello?
[Leigh hangs up the phone and pockets it. He sighs, looking at the werewolf mask. He tears the tag off, puts it in his pocket and quickly puts on the mask.]
Leigh: [worried] How the fuck do people see in these?
[One of the masked men turns around the corner. He sees Leigh and immediately points a knife towards Leigh.]
Criminal 1: [commanding] Hey!
[Leigh slowly turns around to face the criminal. The criminal stares at Leigh, not noticing the trolley slowly moving behind the criminal.]
Leigh: [annoyed] Trust me, mate, you don’t wanna do something like this.
Criminal 1: [commanding] Move to the back!
Leigh: [annoyed] I’m serious, you don’t-
Criminal 1: [commanding, shouting] Move! Now!
[Leigh sighs. The trolley quickly backs into the criminal, Leigh pushing them and making them fall into it. He grabs the knife as the criminal falls into the trolley getting stuck.]
Criminal 1: [angry] Wh- hey!
Leigh: [annoyed] I really don’t like shouting.
[Leigh kicks the trolley, pushing it out the aisle as it moves around the corner and down. Leigh walks after it, seeing two more men with knives. They turn to face Leigh, immediately charging after them. Leigh looks up at the sign to aisle 3, quickly looking back down at the two as the sign quickly pulls down off the hinges and ceiling, knocking the two men over and onto the floor. Leigh gestures towards the two, causing the trolley to shoot forward and bump into the two men as it moves into the self-serve checkout. Leigh turns up aisle 4, the alcohol aisle with lines of cans and bottles, seeing a masked man at the end with a few of the current hostages.]
Leigh: [loud] Excuse me sir?
[The man quickly turns and sees Leigh, moving towards him with a knife in hand.]
Leigh: [loud] I’d watch your head.
[A bottle flies off the wall and hits him in the back of the head, shattering it. He recoils in pain as Leigh walks past, taking the knife off the man as more glasses hit him against the man until he falls onto the floor. Leigh moves down the aisle and looks over, seeing about 15 people bundled together including three children.]

Leigh: Hey folks.
[Leigh looks down the aisles nearby, hearing footsteps to the left. He quickly raises a hand towards the left and causes the entire aisle to collapse and land on somebody. He sighs, lifting the mask up slightly for a second and rubbing his nose. He checks his hand and sees blood.]
Leigh: [quietly] Huh… crap.
[There’s a loud sound towards aisle 5. Leigh adjusts his mask properly, running over to the aisle, filled with animal food and bottled fizzy drinks. He looks down and sees the man with the gun. He gulps, takes a breath and then starts walking down the aisle.]
Leigh: [annoyed] Hey!
[The man quickly turns with the gun pointed straight at Leigh. He slowly raises his hands.]
Criminal 2: [scared, angry] Go back with the rest of them!
Leigh: [annoyed] I just beat all of you, grow up.
[Leigh keeps walking closer, hands in the air. The criminal slowly backs up.]
Criminal 2: [scared, angry] I will shoot.
[Leigh scoffs.]
Leigh: [annoyed] Come on. Most I’ll believe is that you’ve only repainted a water pistol. Now I know that you’re probably struggling but robbing a store with your chums-
[The man quickly points the gun at a tin of dog food and fires, causing the hostages to scream and Leigh to flinch, the gun quickly pointing back to Leigh.]
Leigh: [annoyed] Where do so many people get guns in England?
[The gun quickly flies over to Leigh, but the man travels with it and quickly punches Leigh in the face before he can catch the gun and causing the wolf mask to get slightly knocked off. The gun skids by, Leigh running over behind the man and tackling him to the floor. The two roll until they crash into some lemonade, both getting hit by them. The man quickly gets off as Leigh causes the drinks to fly into the ceiling. He starts getting up as the mask is suddenly snatched off his head and the gun pushed into his temple. Leigh freezes while the criminal crouches down next to him.]
Criminal 2: [angry, quiet] I’m not going to enjoy this… but you should of stayed with-
Mother: [shouting, panicking] Toby!
[Leigh looks up, the criminal looking to the side as an eight year old boy with short brown hair in a blue hoodie runs up and attack-hugs the criminal, pinning his gun arm to the side.]
Criminal 2: [angry, confused] Hey, what the-
[The boy suddenly starts faintly glowing before becoming covered in electricity. The criminal subsequently begins to get electrocuted, the boy dropping him after five seconds and leaving the man to shake on the ground having dropped the gun and mask. Leigh very slowly turns to see the boy, quickly grabbing the gun and pocketing it.]
Leigh: [surprised] You… you must be Toby.
[Toby nods. He quickly grabs the wolf mask and hands it to Leigh.]
Toby: Do you want your mask back?
[Leigh looks down at the mask.]
Toby: It’s like a superhero thing, right? Your secret identity?
[Leigh chuckles, looking at the mask and taking it from Toby.]
Leigh: Guess it is now.
[He puts the mask back on, looking at Toby and shuffling slightly closer to him. He stays crouched down and facing Toby.]
Leigh: [quietly] Hey, that was a pretty cool thing you did, Toby.
Toby: [excited] Really?
Leigh: [quietly] Yeah! That was pretty cool!
[Toby smiles.]
Leigh: [quietly] Now I’m a little busy, has your mum called the police?
[Toby nods.]
Leigh: [quietly] Good… does she know you can…
[Toby nods again. Leigh nods back.]
Leigh: [quietly] Good… yeah, that’s good, um… Toby, promise me that you won’t use that too often, okay? You need to stay safe.
[Toby points to the man shaking on the ground.]
Toby: What if he comes back?
Leigh: [quietly] He probably won’t, but you have… a superhero’s permission to electrocute him again, okay?
[Toby smiles, nodding quickly. Leigh pats him on the arm as Toby’s mother runs around the corner.]
Mother: [panicking] Toby!
[Toby’s mother runs up and quickly picks up Toby, Leigh getting up and backing up slightly. She turns to Leigh.]
Leigh: [quickly] He’s fine! They’re dealt with, you’re all safe…
[Leigh backs up a little more.]
Leigh: Keep an eye on Toby. This whole thing is pretty… new.
[Toby’s mother nods as Leigh turns around and moves over to the end of the aisle. He quickly jogs over to the trolley, pushing it towards the door.]
Leigh: [loud] I’m just taking these, I saved your lives!
[Leigh leaves the supermarket as the alarms start going off.]
