Aurelius stepped to the right after he ducked under the swing by the dragonoid, with the wild flailing by the dragonoid. Aurelius did not need to put in any effort as he weaved himself in between the strikes that the still dying dragonoid was putting out.
Aurelius eyes lighted up as he spotted 2 kobold warriors running towards him and the dragonoid, he shifted to his left to avoid the incoming slam by the dragonoid, the arms blew by him causing his blonde hair to billow from the displacement.
He quickly slid behind the dragonoid and went for Jacob’s sword, with the hilt in his grasp he pulled it out of the dragonoid pushing himself back at the same time to avoid any potential backswing. Just as he predicted the dragonoid roared shaking the cave and turned towards the cause of its pain, Aurelius took a look at the previous resplendent and even mildly impressive dragonoid.
A shadow of its former self, with bloodied scales, two gaping holes and a crazed look about it. Aurelius stepped forward swinging the sword in his hand right for the head of the dragonoid wanting to end the dragonoid before more complication arose.
To his disappointment, Aurelius saw the two kobold warriors getting closer and closer. He would not be able to kill the dragonoid before the two kobold warriors would try and ram one of their swords or shields into him. Aurelius shrouded himself in black and red, the black and red started dissipating once the dragonoid threw swing after swing at it with wild abandon, not even properly registering that it was dealing no damage.
The two kobold warriors in their eagerness to save their half mad dragonoid master having lost their target and with the dragonoid stepping into where Aurelius rammed into the dragonoid causing the dragonoid to slide a few meters away and leaving the two kobold warriors dazed.
Aurelius materialised a short distance away, his posture was one of ease and Flowing Water was pointing downwards while he just stood there and smiled at the three car wreck for opponents in front of him. He heard a short whoo coming from the side and looked to see Riley standing in front of a downed kobold warrior. His eyebrows raised a little in surprise of Riley’s victory, she then started running towards him at a brisk but a much slower pace than she could muster, clearly tired from the entire ordeal.
Sensing that the win against the kobold warrior must have gotten to her head, Aurelius disappeared in a shroud of red and black again and appearing in front of the still rampaging dragonoid. He took a brief moment to marvel at the vitality of the dragonoid, it had been raging for a good few minutes and was still rampaging.
He went for the two kobold warrior still disoriented and sent some essence to the sword he held, before the two kobold warrior even registered him with their senses. He stabbed one through the heart and the other he lopped off its head receiving their dark blue essence while he finished off each one, leaving just one more monster to clean up before the overconfident Riley comes and interfere.
A deafening blast caught Aurelius attention as he looked a flying kobold warrior splattering itself on a wall and Jacob running towards four kobold mages practically oozing with essence in Aurelius’s eyes. He took a short walk towards the dragonoid caught so deeply immersed in its rage that it was still swinging wildly at its surroundings. Aurelius face was filled with disappointment looking at the mindless dragonoid.

He swiped with Jacob’s sword at a wild swing from the dragonoid batting away the lackluster effort put forth by the dragonoid, Aurelius did not even feel an ounce of the same pressure that the dragonoid previously put forth. The dragonoid crashed to the ground along with the blocked swing, Aurelius moved towards the dragonoid step by step. Clearly confident in finishing off the dragonoid even with Riley still approaching.
He made it to the side of the dragonoid head just as Riley was arriving. He drew Jacob’s sword up and filled it with enough essence to make it sharper than steel before driving it down onto the dragonoid skull. Finally, putting an end to the dragonoid. A large red blue orb of essence left the dragonoid and entered Aurelius.
“Eeewww, I should have ran to get Brian instead. I didn’t even get to do anything more.” Riley commented at the splattering of the dragonoid’s head before she quickly turned around and ran to Brian. Leaving Aurelius without a chance to reply as she was already a small distance away.

[The Cave of the Dragonoid Illusionist has been cleared and turned into a safe zone for the remaining day and 4 hours]
Jacob looked at the text floating in front of him and sat down, it was a good battle and he really did not expect it to be another boss fight. He was gonna power up and defeat the kobold knight, guess it should be called kobold warrior instead. If it was a illusionist though, the arena looked real. So did the pressure upon his body, his body reacted to it. Jacob figured the rest fought on the arena and wanted to ask them about it, but before that he wanted to rest.
It was very intriguing to Jacob for the most parts the dragonoid did seem like he was casting spells to Jacob and he was conjuring a multitude of stuffs from thin air too. He took a look around and saw Riley hoisting the giant Brian on her shoulder and moving as if he was just a light feather upon her back towards where Aurelius was. Essence really was a wonderful thing, he circulated another bout of essence to keep himself sharp as he stood up.
Jacob ran to the other side of Brian and hefted Brian up with his shoulder as he said to Riley. Motes of light rose up and dissipated as the kobold warriors and knights were being cleaned up by the System.
“Another shoulder should still be helpful in this case right?”
“It certainly is, even with essence flowing through me I still have to drag him along. Maybe we should tell him I gave him a princess-carry when he wakes up.”
“That sounds great, can’t wait to see what expression his face will give us later.”
Aurelius gave a wide smile to Jacob and Riley as they arrived in front of him with Brian in tow, still unconscious throughout the numerous event and happenings around him. Brian even had a few hints of frost covering his shoulder and head, the blast must have been pretty big for it to hit Brian too.
“You know, I did give Brian a piggy-back when I carried him to Jacob. We can tell him that instead.” Aurelius said as the Jacob and Riley put Brian down.
“We can say that too and make him twice as embarrassed. Such a large man fainting and needing so many people to carry him.” Riley countered.
“Did the illusionist drop anything useful? I remembered that marble statue not even giving us a single thing when it died” Jacob asked as he looked at the messy corpse of the dragonoid far from its previous splendour. Even if it was mostly fake, it still left Jacob a little wistful. The scales looked truly beautiful when he was first greeted by the dragonoid.
Aurelius gave a telling smile in reply while Flowing Water was now impaled on the ground beside him.
