As Jacob scanned through all 5 Jobs thoroughly there were 2 Jobs mentioned by the Suzerain, Aspiring Explorer and Squire both are immediately useful with intuitive skills and without a need to spend days or weeks mastering the forms of power for an element for anyone to profit from being a mage in the Tutorial. Jacob sighed as his stats were more geared towards a mental-based Job but he inquired the Suzerain about it. Choosing Adept as a job now would cut him off from many lucrative benefits as the initial power granted by the Adept are lower than Squire and no scouting aspects will be granted immediately like the Aspiring Explorer
For races who already have their sector integrated someone having a chance to be an Adept would be a high honour as integrated races do not need to go through the Tutorial that their ancestors have trudged through with their blood, sweat and tears. Instead their initial Grade promotions can be done in relative safety and proper guides are available for purchase with ease, however they would miss out on exclusive Titles and treasures seeded into newly integrated worlds as an incentive for the natives to accomplish more. Missing out on those they instead would be able to practice their skills and abilities to their hearts content before stepping out to the universe at large.
The only actual choices are between Aspiring Explorer and Squire per the recommendations of the Suzerain, as the two common classes are definitely too generic and the bonuses applied by the First Adventurer of Earth will be one short, as compared to the uncommon classes. A boost to an inherent ability were highly sought after by any fledgling or their elders to give them the best chances in this universe.
Aspiring Explorer would be able to get him through all three parts of the Tutorial away from people in general as he would be able to navigate all the parts without a huge risk to his life, whilst still gaining precious treasures. The biggest drawback would be the lack of direct combat abilities, Jacob just could not imagine only running away whenever he was met with danger, if the situation calls for it say a giant tiger was after his life that would be fine but constantly being on the run did not sit well with Jacob.
Jacob gave brief consideration to Adept again, if he can master some rudimentary forms of power it would at least guarantee his life. Maybe the item granted would aid him well so he can be useful during the first part of the tutorial, the Suzerain mentioned that combat was not the only way to gain a better ranking and in turn better rewards in the Tutorial. But the Suzerain knows better and the Suzerain did mention that he would be able learn some basic forms of power relevant to his innate affinity even if a Mage Job was not chosen he would just not be able to specialise in anything nor aim for the higher forms of power. At least while Jacob was stuck in the Tutorial and bereft of a teacher.
Jacob ruminated for a few minutes over the 3 uncommon Jobs, he decided to take up Squire as his first Job. Its basically a better fighter with support magic, Jacob took a deep breath and confirmed his selection mentally, looking forward to exploring the city and the forest beyond with his Grade 1 Job.
His vision immediately swirled and a different scenery filled his sight, he found himself floating above an unfamiliar landscape with no body to speak of. Only a weird blueish vision making everything he sees a blue hue.
