Jacob quickly moved to retrieve his sword as he kept his eyes trained towards the sound of the voice. With Flowing Water in hand Jacob slowly regained his confidence and did not feel as naked as he did before. The following however quickly proved safety was an illusion
“Why are you so defensive little boy? If I wanted to you would be dead already.” A soft whisper lulled in his right ear. He quickly turned to face his right but he could see nothing.
‘Little boy again I’m already tall enough why do people keep calling me little boy’ Jacob fumed inwardly as he looked around with his head swiveling as fast as it could. But it was to no avail as no matter where he looked he saw no signs of a presence, he could not even feel it until. The back of his hair suddenly stood up Jacob immediately ducked to avoid danger the rushing of wind the only sign that he narrowly dodged death. The voice came again.
“Well done little boy it seems you would be useful after all.” As the sentence ended Jacob suddenly saw a young male 1.9 metre tall ‘okay I can see why he called me little’ Jacob gulped nervously as he looked at the blonde red eyes and well dressed giant. Somehow he still had on an impeccable purple coat on with similar purple pants. He would seem cartoonish if he was not so menacing looking.
“What do you want? I’m just roaming around the city looking for monsters to kill.” Jacob cautiously got the words out with his eyes trained on the giant’s face looking for any signs of hostility. The giant replied casually
“I suspect we are looking for the same monsters, you are looking for the reasons why the stone hands suddenly started getting smarter too aren’t you? I offer a temporary alliance while we search for the monster.” Jacob asked in return
“You and I can’t share the essence from kills only the last one to land the killing blow will get the essence, how do you want to do this?”
“Simple, if there are more than one of the monsters it would be first come first serve and if there was only one it would be first come first serve too. Think of it as healthy competition, you are the only one so far who dodge my first strike unscathed at that.” The giant got close to Jacob before he could even react and had an arm wrapped around his shoulder as if they had been long lost friends.
Jacob tried squirming out of the grip but it was locked as tight as a crocodile doing a death roll. He replied as naturally as possible.
“Alright I agree I need more essence to get stronger, how did you get this strong? Are you Jacob of Green Tea from the announcements?” The golden haired giant shook his head as he replied.

“No I got my Job a few minutes after him, I do wonder what title he got for being the first though. Lets wait till we know each other better before I tell you how I got this strong.” Jacob internalised the information he was lucky enough to get the first Job somehow the golden haired giant got way stronger before him.
“Okay let me out of your death grip and we can begin searching I’m Michael Castus by the way.” Jacob ruefully voiced out as he pointed at the golden haired giants’ hand still on his shoulder. The man released his grip on Jacob before he said in return, arms in mock surrender.
“Nice to meet you Michael Castus Bideway, I’m Aurelius Atkinson and yes my parents loved comic book characters. If you survive long enough in this place I might even tell you my middle name.” Jacob scowled at both the mixup and the sting of this man mentioning his parents.
“Its just Michael Castus no Bideway is in my name not everyone has a middle name. I don’t want to know yours either so keep it to yourself.” Jacob replied, Aurelius gave a small smile and apologised for the mix up. Jacob thought he was done having to suffer against beautiful faces after the fiends betrayed him oh he was gonna enjoy gutting Alexander, maybe it was that they both started with A in their names but Jacob could not help but distrust Aurelius. However everyone deserves the benefit of doubt so he shoved that feeling deep down even if he did almost cut his head off, speaking of Jacob saw no weapons on Aurelius. He threw out the question to fulfill his puzzlement.
“What did you used to try and cut my head off? I do not see you holding anything right now.” Aurelius gave another casual reply while miming a chopping action with his snow white hand.
“With my hands what else? How did you manage to get such a nice looking sword anyways?” Jacob visibly gulped if Aurelius could chop off his head with his hand if not Jacob would not have had his hair raised by that simple chopping action, his strength stat must be off the charts. Jacob gave a non-comittal reply
“Oh you know just from wandering here and there, this place have quite abit of hidden spots.”
“Fine keep your secrets. Okay lets get moving.” Aurelius replied and burst into speed heading deeper into the city Jacob followed along albeit lagging behind. Aurelius would look back every now and then to make sure Jacob was still catching up, their travels did not take as long as the first day when Jacob was running with the group with improved speed and stamina. As the duo ended up in a plaza of sorts with rows of tree acting as a barrier with an obvious gap meant as an entrance before Jacob started to move seeing nothing out of the ordinary.
Aurelius called for Jacob to follow and rushed into the plaza, Jacob followed along and came to a halt right behind Aurelius and saw what he saw. The sight was gruesome bodies callously strewn about in places all wearing modern clothes, entrails could be seen hanging atop some of the stone stands and bits and pieces could be seen stuck onto the nearby trees. Jacob and Aurelius split up to look for any survivors.
The plaza itself was arrange in rows of stalls each had poles marking the start and end of the stone stalls. It had four major cross junctions each had a large fountain void of water, stone statues carved like warriors from a bygone times with stone swords and assorted weapons each in valiant poses but showing signs of wear and tear could be seen atop the fountains and smaller ones covered each of the walkway out of the junction
However throughout the search there was no signs of any hostile creatures not even their remains unless there was horrendous in-fighting the results of which would have left at least one survivor who was nowhere to be found. No blood trails led away from the site of massacre as Jacob and Aurelius both moved through the plaza only dead bodies. Jacob and Aurelius called out to each other and met up by one of the fountains sharing their findings with each other. That was when the both of them heard blood dripping down onto the fountain, and their eyes led them to a stone statue who was now grinning at them sword already coming down.
