Jacob made his way to the statue of a male deity, hoping for something good to happen. Usually this is the part where the hero receives an immensely helpful ability, looking around there really seemed to be nothing of note the walls were impeccably smooth, there was a soft glow in the air that Jacob swore he can touch but not grab somehow. Jacob reached the front of the statue and touched the base of it immediately a warm light radiated from the statue.

[Communication established with Turain Nest(???)]

The system informed him shortly after that a singsong voice appeared in his mind.

“Is a new integration already happening? Welcome, welcome to your new life the Almighty Heavens have brought your world and many other into its fold. You have three choices, One: you can ask 5 questions I will answer if to the best of my abilities. Two: I can give you a guide on the tutorial that will cover most of what you should aim to achieve during the tutorial and some extra. Three: and I do hope you choose to be my disciple and serve under me for 300 years. I can give you a hint now free of charge, the things you do in each part of the tutorial have far reaching consequences.”

Jacob absorbing the new information deep in thought, he would not even know what questions to ask if he asked about his friends would the deity even be able to answer would it even help, they can only be experiencing the same or similar things that Jacob was currently experiencing. Sadly it seems like he would not be getting a cheat-like skill that will propel him to the top of the world.

It would be better for Jacob to receive advanced instructions, he surely would not wanna serve a stranger for 300 years even if he does sound very nice but it was nice to learn that there is someway to extend his longevity. The deity refers to the cold voice as the Almighty Heaven so its not a new thing happening to everywhere, Earth is just part of the newest part of its expansion. As Jacob internalised the information he began to reply to the voice, Jacob heard a chuckle and the enchanting singsong voice sounded in his mind again.

“Before you speak, I heard all that inner monologue no need to be embarrassed. So to not allow others to hear your inner thoughts imagine a sphere encasing your mind, what forms inside that sphere will not be heard by others do the opposite for sharing your thoughts in a 2-way communication. Seeing as you have decided I shall expound on basics”

Jacob felt his cheeks heating up and quickly tried forming a sphere in his mind with all his thoughts inside.

“Well done you are a quick learner, there are still residual thoughts leaking out but at least you are not parading your thoughts for everyone to listen. Listen well young one you are one of the lucky few.”

So the deity-like Turain explained the what one can and should do in the tutorial for the next 30 minutes. Somehow, during the explanation nothing could be heard from the outside. Only Turains’ voice constantly sounded in Jacobs’ head. Jacob formed his reply outside of the imagined sphere.

“Thank you Suzerain Turain for guiding me on what I need to do for the tutorial, as you remarked I will try and get myself to Grade 1 and obtain one of the Jobs you mentioned before the end of this tutorial. May the Heavens light your way.”

Jacob drew his arms in a circle before forming a sphere with both hands and bowed to the statue. A reply soon came from Suzerain Turain

“Looks like you really are a quick learner, you can start gathering your essence in the chapel you are in, it is the perks for being a daring explorer after you leave the chapel. You will also be granted a title, to get its benefits just do what I told you about the Status and the rest should be intuitive. May the Heavens light you way.”

With those words the warm light receded from the statue and Jacob swore the statue winked at him as the light ended. As soon as the light completely receded a wave of vertigo struck him staggering him to his knees. Jacob used the statue to help himself sit down in a lotus position. First time to look at his Status, Jacob began to conjure a scroll in his mind willing it to be populated with his current stats

‘Well those...can look better. I do have insane luck somehow maybe finding the chapel first contributed. I definitely feel more hale after that dead sprint carrying a 50kg sack of rice’

Jacob began gathering the essence around him into his body, as the essence flows in, Jacob exalted in the feeling of his body being suffused with warmth. He circulated the essence around his body a few rounds to allow the essence to heal his aching arms slowly he could feel the aches being drawn away into nothingness. Now Jacob can only feel the essence circulating around his body he let out a groan of pleasure and began guiding it into his core located around the center of his guts also known as the Lower Dantian to the System. There are 3 general locations where one can put their core to allow for further growth down the road, first the Lower Dantian next is the Middle Dantian which is located in the solar plexus near the diaphram and the heart, lastly the Upper Dantian which is located in the center of the head, where monsters and demons usually have their creepy third eye at.

Suzerain Turain recommended the Lower Dantian as the Middle and Upper ones have specialisations to their usage usually boosting the physical specifically for the Middle and the Upper gives more of a buff to the mental capabilities of a person. While the Lower Dantian gives a general buff once its formed, as Jacob do not have a specific Job in mind yet a all round buff would be more beneficial, though seeing his current stats he is of the mind to choose a mage related Job where he can sling ice and throw thunder like the games he used to play not so long ago.

The essence began forming into a spiral in his Lower Dantian, as it forms essence starts flowing in an increased rate. Suddenly Jacob felt a throbbing pain in his gut, he gritted his teeth as the spiral grows so did the pain. Suzerain Turain mentioned that there would be pain as nothing worth having comes easy, but he did not mention a sledgehammer would be pounding on his guts, Jacob cast his thoughts to his impending Job selection to focus his pain on something positive.

10 minutes later, Jacob could feel his mind teeter on the edge of unconciousness. His mind clawing on the hopes of a successful formation holding on to that, Jacob continued drawing on the surrounding essence. Jacob felt the core stabilising, with a wain smile he looked into his body and saw a spiral about the size of an apple was swirling steadily along with it the pain receeded as fast as it came, no hint of its presence remained, as if the pain that happened during the forming of the core was only imaginary. Jacob heaved a sigh of relief, thankful for the end
