The Chosen Ones Part 4

So he repeated his question once more, although I think maybe it was more than once: "Do you have any weapons?" What kind of question is that? Without even thinking much about it, without me doing it intentionally, I nodded with my head and said, "Yes, I do have some weapons." Suddenly, the screen popped in front of me again, and this time, the inventory was unlocked without me doing anything.

Was it natural for it to happen that way? I have no idea, really. When I saw the two other girls coming towards us, Amun was with the other new young girl, and both of them had weapons in their hands. I was wondering who this young girl was, but before I asked anything, Aden spoke and asked us to introduce ourselves. Apparently, he could introduce me and Amun, but I think he didn't want to put the new girl in an awkward position because simply that could complicate things since the other boy doesn't trust us, he only understood that we don't have any ill intentions towards them.

The dilemma I was in when all the introductions were going on was wondering what kind of weapon I should choose and where I would get it from. Sure, it was mentioned that it would materialize in front of me, but from where and how? However I thought about it, I was sure that I would not get an answer, so what should I choose now, since I don't know how to use any of the weapons mentioned in the list because I never even saw them up close, let alone holding them? I was not wondering anymore how this woman called Amran got the two short swords or where, I simply reached the conclusion that we are in the same situation, and if what she told us is true, then all of us were here for a reason.

Now the question is: are this young boy

and the woman with her two kids part of whatever was going on here, or maybe they were the ones behind all of it? At the end, I chose the long-range laser gun, and apparently, while I was deep in my thoughts, the boy introduced himself. And the other's, and he said at the end, "You two without weapons, come closer to the rock; you with swords, stay behind them and check our backs." " And you, cover my left side and always stay behind the rock unless you are shooting back." He addressed me in the same way he said that and added, "They are here, be ready to engage."

Adline's point of view

I froze at my place, looking at the rifle that was facing my face. A cold sweat dropped from my face and drenched my back in that moment. I was unable to come up with any reaction, all I could do was stand there like a statue. Was this my end? What kind of mission I signed up for, actually I didn't sign up for anything, now I believe I was tricked into meeting my end in a strange place I know nothing about.

At that moment, the boy from the other side called out, "We are not your enemies; please don't shoot." The boy with the rifle turned towards the other boy, and after looking at him for a few seconds, he lowered his rifle. Without saying any other words, he turned to the other side and pointed his rifle there, looking through the scope.

I think I passed out while I was standing, my brain froze, as did my body. However, when I tried to recall what happened after that, nothing came back to me. All I remember is the woman with two swords in her hands standing in front of me. I guess she asked me something that I didn't hear. When she saw me staring at her with a blank eye, she said, "Come with me; we will join the others," and like a robot, I followed her without saying anything.

After we joined them, the young boy who was with the two women asked us to introduce ourselves to the boy with the rifle. When did they get to know each other? I don't know. When my turn came and I introduced myself by only saying my name, I was stressed and shaking, but I tried my best to not let anyone notice me. The next question came from the boy with the rifle: "Do you have any weapons?" And that was addressed to all, while looking at us one by one.

I don't know what I said when it was my turn to answer because I was busy looking at the screen that appeared in front of me, not wondering about the content of what was written in it, but who sent it to me? Was it the girl that replaced me? or someone else in the other workspace that was surrounding me? Also, the content was different from the one I used to send. After a few seconds, I concentrated on the screen and saw the same information as before, but now with a couple new lines.
