Chapter 13

Destiny and the destination

Part 4

Dead or alive, what's the meaning of this? She almost yelled that aloud, but fortunately she didn't. The instant she finished reading the few lines containing the mission information, her office door opened, and a young man came in to the office and stood behind the door that he closed when he entered the room and said, "Good afternoon, Agent Natasha. My name is Endra. I am here by the order of the general director to assist you with whatever you need to embark on your mission. I will also facilitate your means of travel, and I am waiting for your instructions and orders."

For the first time in her life, Natasha was speechless, although nothing was showing in her expressions. Since she is a biological Android, her thinking process is 50 times higher than that of the most genius human, and she is much superior mentally and physically. Still, as a race, they are more rational and never act on emotions or in haste, so no wonder she was speechless at that moment. She understood the situation was above normal, but the order she received and the speed they wanted her to act on were totally strange.

The Magu Forest was the most dangerous place on this planet, and until this moment, it was off limits to the Andorians. In their whole history, no one of their kind had ever gone there, regardless of the fact that there was no need to go there ever, but the danger lurking in each and every corner of that forest made it a dangerous place, and there was no gain from going or exploring it. Unless you want to commit suicide, then you should stay away from it. At least that is what every living being on this planet believes.

Give me a minute to prepare the required items, and I will call you. Can you wait in the waiting room, please?" She said that while thinking at the same time about what she could need to do this assignment, she had no idea what she should start with. She sat back on her chair and started collecting all the available information about the Magu Forest. Within a couple of seconds, she found that the only thing she needed was to survive in that place, so offensive and defensive weapons were priority number one. She started listening to whatever she thought would help her achieve that, and the second thing was the objective of the mission, which is to find Amun.

In less than a minute, she called Endra and gave him a list, and said, "I will be ready as soon as you gather that." pointing at the list in his hand, he looked at it, and without hesitating or thinking about it, he said, "Right away, give me 4 hours and it will be ready," and without waiting for any response from Natasha, he left the office. She sat in her office for a few minutes, planning in her head for her trip, without thinking anymore about the higher-ups and their intentions or any hidden objectives that they may have. Then she stood up and headed toward the armory store, picking up a few items that were not on the list. Looking around the huge space around her full of tens of thousands of different gadgets and weapons, she wondered why she never wondered about the need for all these weapons since they have been living in peace for hundreds of years so far.

There was no time for her to dwell on those thoughts; she had little time to prepare herself for a journey that none of her kind had attempted before. She had to prepare everything that she thought she might need, so she started heading to the last section of the armory store to pick up the last item she needed in this storage. That item had been in this storage for more than twenty years, and she would be the first and last one to use it. It was a prototype bodysuit with the look of a normal suit but with many other hidden functions. As soon as she received this mission, when she thought about her safety, the suit came to her mind.

The time went by quickly, and the time of her departure was scheduled to be after thirty minutes. She was standing at the gate of the city waiting for Endra to arrive and take her to where she will travel with him to the border. From there, she will be sent somewhere else, and from there, she will be able to use another dimensional gate that will take her to the Magu forest. That was the instructions she receive. She e has collected all the available information on that forest and taken all the precautions necessary for her survival and accomplishing the mission that she thought of, not knowing that most of the time s nothing goes as planned.

..................................

Amun's point of view

Ducking behind the huge boulder, in front of me maybe a few inches suppurating us the woman holding her two kids tightly, beside me the new girl who introduced herself as Adline was actually shaking apparently from fear, which was really understandable according to the situation we are in at the moment. Around twelve men were facing us and shooting at us, and from our side Aden and Luke were shooting back at them, while behind us Jennan was guarding us from anyone that may try to attack us from behind us, with her weapon in her hands ready to shoot anything that comes into her sight.

I couldn't read her facial expressions since she was facing the other side, and she was shaking like Adline. Still, I was positive that she was scared, just like Adline, but maybe

being older than her, she was able to control her emotions better. It was obvious to me that she had never held a gun before from the way she was handling her gun. How do I know this by just looking at the way she was holding her gun? I don't know, but during the last few minutes I felt something change within me. I was able to think faster than before, and then I remembered the screen. As soon as I thought about it, it appeared in front of me again, but now with new detail. The first line that appeared for me was like this:

So now the time has moved, and because of that, she gained skills and attributes, but it's level zero now. At that moment, I sensed something from my left side. When I looked, I couldn't see anything, but instantly, like I was using a lens, my sight zoomed in beyond where I was looking, and I saw six more men armed with guns trying to sneak at us from that side.
