Chapter 14
Destiny and the destination
Part 5
While I was reading the new input on the screen and thinking about it, I sensed something on my left side. When I looked, I couldn't see anything at first, but while I was looking, suddenly my sight zoomed in, and I saw six more men armed sneaking on us from that side. I saw them like they were standing in front of me, and the actual distance between us was more than one thousand meters, a distance impossible to see anything from, especially in a place like this dense forest.
"Six more enemies are approaching us from our west side, approximate arrival time is three minutes." That came out of my mouth unconsciously, I didn't know even when I said it aloud. All I knew was that I calculated their time of arrival in my head and that I needed to warn my company. Since when was I able to come up with that precise calculation and was able to see that far? I don't know, it was obvious to me that this was the doing of these skills and attributes. The only thing that was occupying my mind was how to survive this situation.
So I had to do whatever I could and use whatever was available at my disposal at the moment. How it was happening or who was behind it. That was a problem for another time. The responsibility that was assigned to me was to keep the woman and her two kids safe. In order for me to do that, I had to survive myself first. The young boy whose name was Luke was the one who assigned everyone of us a location and what to do, and none of us complained or rejected his formation, which, when I looked at it, was the best that anyone could come up with in a situation like this with so many unknown variables.
Basically, it's difficult to coordinate between a team with smaller numbers than the enemy, let alone between people you see them for the first time and you don't know them or their capabilities. In short, the whole situation was something strange to begin with, so I guess he had to trust us, or at least trust that we are not enemies, and since he needed all the help that he could get, he had to do with what he got. After I gave them my warning, Luke didn't change his position or give anyone any instructions.

He just glanced once in the direction that I mentioned and kept on firing his rifle. After a couple of seconds, he turned to Aden, and without saying anything, Aden said "I will take care of them". Then he looked at the direction I mentioned, then looked at me and asked, "How far are they now?"

Aden's point of view
Things have progressed so fast since I was thinking of such things, the boy was observing me with me. I don't know for how long I have been thinking about this or how long the boy has been looking at me. I just heard the boy telling me in a harsh tone, "Don't think about it. If you do, this will be the last day of your life." Without waiting for a reply from me, he told the girls with a commanding tone, "You two without weapons, come closer to the rock, you with swords, stay behind them and check our backs." "And you, cover my left side and always stay behind the rock unless you are shooting back." He addressed me in the same way he said that and added, "They are here, be ready to engage." After he said that and before he turned, weapons appeared on both their hands, and without a hint of surprise, he said, "So everyone has weapons, first good, then swords. In front, "you" pointing at the new addition to our group, Adline, in the middle, and you with a long gun guarding the rear".
The shooting started within a few seconds. For the first few shots, I didn't even know where or what I was shooting at, no wonder I didn't know what I was even doing; it was my first time shooting a real gun or even holding one in my life, but somehow the scene seemed familiar to me, something like a dejavu. Why is that? I really don’t know; except for the sense of familiarity, nothing else comes to my mind.
Luke beside me looked like a professional taking his time with each shot, followed by the sound of TUD something falling down, but there was thus hesitation in my side
about killing someone, which was not something I was eager to do. But still, what he said still rings in my ears."Don't think about it. If you do, this will be the last day of your life." Sure, whoever this enemy is, they will not spare us just because we were just passing by, so it is simply a kill or be kind situation, but I am ready to kill someone even if it is to save myself.
Now steady your weapon, aim at your target, and shoot. I told myself that and did it at the same time in front of me that the target of my shot was clearly visible, so before I took the shot, I thought of a way not to kill but to immobilize him, and I took the shot.
