Setting up the tent that Jadan and I had insisted on bringing I take a step back to admire my handy work. It was a large, purple tent with white stars and moons on it each with laughing faces drawn onto them. It was cozy and reminded me of home. glancing over at Ruby, who was having a heated argument with the white-haired girl she had made a flashy entrance with earlier. She claimed she didn't want any attention, but then she caused a huge explosion. "They grow up so fast," I whispered, pretending to wipe a tear from my eye.

"Jada, Dad's calling. He wants to know how we're doing," Jadan announces, handing me the scroll. I walk back into the tent but trip over Belmer, the blue horse plushie that I got Jadan before we left for Beacon. I land face-first into a pile of pillows and hear laughter from both sides. Yang picks up Belmer and hands it back to Jadan, then leaves to get Ruby.

"You see how they bully me when you're not around?" I cry into the scroll, making my voice sound overly dramatic to match my fake tears.

"Haha, don't worry, princess. I'll tell my little dragon to give you the royal treatment you deserve," Taiyang replies, his voice full of amusement. I hear a scoff in the background and feel a shiver run down my spine…Making a face as if I had bitten into a particularly bad lemon, "Tell Uncle Qrow we said goodnight, but don't put him on the screen, next time okay?" I whispered the last part before finishing the call.

"Hmpf, fine then. I'll go over there and you can stay in your childish tent. It suits your age," I hear someone mock before stomping away. Peeking out of the tent I see Yang laughing as she walks back with Ruby, who looked embarrassed.

As Ruby comes in complaining about the rude girl from earlier,she throws herself into her blanket, only to squawk then hand Jadan his toy Brox. Looking at Ruby's sulking face I lay down in front of her. I hold eye contact with her for a long second before smiling.

"You know, Rubes, we turn sixteen in five weeks," I mused, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "And as your older siblings, we have a duty to protect you from anyone who bothers you. So just let us know...and they'll never find the body," licking my lips with a smile I roll back over to my blanket.

"Jada, you're supposed to laugh after that, not roll away. Yang, tell her I'm the elder sibling since I have more seniority".

"Sleeping now," Yang pronounces, ignoring the pouting Ruby before turning off the lamp.

"I still can't believe he threw us off the cliff,good guys don't throw people off cliffs," I huffed angrily.

"Jadan, it's part of the test to make sure everyone knows how to land," Yang repeated, sounding exasperated. I stop walking and face our left. "Would you come out already?" I snap at the person who has been following us. A black-haired girl with a bow on her head emerges from behind a tree, looking annoyed.

"I saw you fight the Ursa earlier. Instead of dissipating after it died, it turned into orbs and you ate them," she pointed out, while pointing her gun at us. Yang steps in front of us as Jada and I form on her arm.

"It's their semblance, by the way. Have you seen a girl in a red hood around here?" Yang questioned cheerfully, ignoring the girl's accusation.

Silence falls on us as the girl stares at us with growing confusion.

"I'll take that as a no. Since you're my new teammate, introductions are in order the names Yang.Let me introduce you to my partners Jada and Jadan,they bring the bang," Yang brags before whispering "Cool hero pose of chill."

With practiced ease we reform into said pose. The girl's confused look slowly morphs into one of disbelief.

"Cat got your tongue? What's your name?" Yang prodded with a grin.

"Blake," she notes while slowly backing away.

"New teammate," I whispered to Jada.

"Yeah, she's stuck with us," Jada whispered back as Blake freezes with a dejected look on her face.
