23. Sheepy's Class

"So, what have you been doing for a living?"

The dwarf guard dragged us to a tavern. I couldn't actually go in, but I could hear them for outside. For such an advanced city, the soundproofing sure was bad. Probably because it was a cheap and shoddy tavern. Their conversation wasn't the most interesting to listen to, but I guess didn't have anything better to do while waiting.

Sheepy was getting tired of the translating and kept complaining, but after threatening its aloe vera supply, the sheep was suddenly willing to cooperate.

"Oh... it's nothing special, Hali," said Uellor.

"Don't be modest! Tell me!"

"Really, it's not..."

The bantering went on for a while. Eventually, Haliton managed to pressure Uellor into revealing he was a gardener. The guard then teased Uell about it, asking if he was trying to become an elf. Not surprising why Uell didn't want to meet him.

"Hmm, you think he's any good at growing tasty grass?" Sheepy seemed really interested.

In the end, Hali reassured Uell that it was fine. I guess it was just friendly teasing.

It felt like forever, but they finally left the tavern. They were red in the face and walking in a somewhat wobbly manner. Finally, we could go get some scrap!

Sheepy, tell them to bring us to-

"Wait, before that, tell Uellor to bring us to his garden!"

What? Why?

Was there any reason to keep delaying?

"Just do it! It'll take very little time anyway. I'll stop translating if you don't get him to!"

And the fat grass?

"I'll leave if you pressure me too much!"

Urgh. Whatever.

"Hey, Uellor! Mind taking us to your garden? The she-"

Uell suddenly perked up. He seemed very excited.

"You... you want to see my garden?"

"Uh, yes?"

"Seriously? You like gardens?" Hali seemed to be in disbelief.

"Well, its the shee-"

"Let's *hick*, go!"

Uell ran off and beckoned to us in distance, hiccuping all the while.

"So here's my garden! Isn't it beautiful?"

There was a shop surrounded by a garden full of fruit trees, plots of vegetables and other random plants I honestly didn't really care about. The shop was also filled with racks of random potted plants and what I assumed to be straight from the garden.

"Wooaaah! It's amazing!" Sheepy exclaimed.

"Yeah, I guess? We came here because the sheep wanted to see it."

"Oh..."

Uell seemed a bit disappointed. Well, I guess I would be too if I were in his shoes.

So, is that enough or-

"No! I am not leaving until I get a tour of the place!" Sheepy insisted.

I thought Uell would say no, but to my dismay, he accepted. Seriously, a tour for a sheep? Poor guy must be desperate to show off his garden... Were there really that little people interested?

I guess now had another thing to wait for. Apparently, Hali didn't feel like waiting either, so he went into my cabin and started to lie on both the seats. He was short so it was enough space for him to be comfortable. By the time the sheep was done, the guard was snoring peacefully.

"Metal monster, I've decided!" Sheepy said.

Decided what?

"I want to be a gardener!"

What?

[Sheepy had declared an interest in a class!]

[Learn Class: Gardener?]

Wait, me?

[No, idiot! Show this screen to Sheepy.]

No way! Decline class!

[Error! Only user can decide class!]

What? Why can't I choose to decline? What good would such a class be for a pet?

I decided to just not take Tablet out. If I can't decline it, Sheepy wasn't going to be able to accept it!

To my horror, Tablet started floating. It forced my windows open and flew out before Sheepy!

What the heck are you doing, Tablet? Stop!

Uell widened his eyes in shock, pointing towards Tablet and shouting something. Unfortunately, Sheepy was distracted so it didn't translate.

"Hey what's the big deal- Holy shit, you can give me gardener powers? You're nicer than I thought, metal monster!"

["Metal monster" did not approve. I had to come out on my own accord to help you.]

"What? You... you're horrible!" Sheepy looked at me in anger. "Good thing this metal glass monster thing decided to help this handsome sheep!"

[Call me Tablet.]

"Okay, Tablet. And as for you..." Sheepy. "You'll always be metal monster! I'll never call you by name!"

[Sheepy is now a Gardener!]

[New skill: Green Hoove]

[Seeds planted by the user will grow 50% faster.]

...

Of course, Tablet had to make things hard. I seriously don't get why it had to be such a jerk. If I knew this would happen, I would have just went straight for the scrap!

"Well, to be fair..." muttered Radio. "Shouldn't you let Sheepy be what it wanted to be? Maybe it's a bit mean to- ah! Nevermind..."

Well... I guess you have a point. But in the end, I still need it to pull its own weight! And how does it know it wants to actually be a gardener? At this point, it's probably just by impulse! Sheepy might regret it later!

"Oh... I guess you're... right?"

[Nice excuses.]

Whatever.

I decided that now that this was done with, I should ask Hali or Uell for directions to wherever the scrap is sold.

Sheepy, tell Radio how to say-

"Shut up! I will not help you translate now, metal monster!"

Sheepy, don't misunderstand! I was only trying to make sure you don't regret it later! Shouldn't you take time to decide first anyway? What if you wanted to be a barbarian later on or-

"Lies!"

HUUUUERHGHHH

I guess now that it came to this, I should ask Biggie.

Hey Bi- wolf, do you know the human language?

"Hmm? Indeed, it is one I know of."

That was good.

With Biggie's help, I decided to talk ask Uell for directions instead since Hali was sleeping.

"Can you help us find the scrap shop? We need the scrap for repairs."

Uell gave us an odd look. Did Biggie give Radio overly grandiose lines?

"It is not a problem. But pardon, may I ask why?" translated Biggie.

Of course it was translated in Biggie's style. Come to think of it, how accurate was Sheepy's translation anyway? Was it in Sheepy's style? I should really find some books to properly translate like Tablet said...
